The effect of mutation for gene Merlin on chromosome disjunction in Drosophila during meiosis was genetically studied. Chromosome nondisjunction was not registered in females heterozygous for this mutation and containing structurally normal X chromosomes. In cases when these females additionally contained inversion in one of chromosomes X, a tendency toward the appearance of nondisjunction events was observed in individuals containing mutation in the heterozygote. The genetic construct was obtained allowing the overexpression of protein corresponding to a sterile allele Mer3 in the germ cell line. This construct relieves the lethal effect of Mer4 mutation. The ectopic expression of this mutant protein leads to chromosome nondisjunction in male meiosis. 相似文献

Drosophila Merlin, an ortholog of the merlin protein encoded by the human Neurofibromatosis 2 (NF2) gene, is important for the regulation of cell proliferation and differentiation in the eye and wing. Also, it has been shown to be involved in male fertility in flies. In the present study, we formation using the comparative light and electron microscopic research of merlin mutants (mer3 and mer4) and ectopic expression of the Mer+ construct. Our work defines specific functions for Merlin in the mitochondria association and aggregation during the nebenkern formation and unfurling mitochondrial derivates during spermatid elongation. The content of lipids was studied in the gramicidin producing variants of Bacillus brevis var. G.-B. in the process of submerged cultivation. The greatest accumulation of lipids preceded the highest content of gramicidin C in the producing cells. The interrelation between the synthesis of lipids and that of gramicidin C is discussed. 相似文献

Variation of serum protein allotypes serving as genetic markers of the blood has been analyzed in 29 populations of the domestic pig and subspecies of the wild boar. The population biodiversity and genetic structure have been estimated by two methods: by the frequencies of allotype combinations and with the use of a map constructed in the space of two principal components. The proteins of parasporal inclusions from three Bacillus thuringiensis subspecies (kurstaki, amagiensis, and monterrey) inhibited growth of methanogenic archaea of two species belonging to two genera, Methanobrevibacter arboriphilus and Methanosarcina barkeri. The minimal inhibitory concentrations of these proteins were 20 to 50 micrograms/ml. Lysozyme exhibited similar bactericidal effect on archaea. The capacity of the spleen cells of CBA mice to antibody formation as well as to the "graft-versus-host" (GVH) reaction and the change in the stem cell number determined by the spleen colony method were studied after unilateral removal or burn of the submandibular salivary gland and amputation of lower incisors. It is shown that any of these experimental changes in the salivary gland state causes an increase in the stem cell migration and makes lymphocytes more active in inducing the GVH reaction. The ability of spleen lymphocytes to react on additional antigen stimuli increases after amputation of lower incisors, accompanied by an enlargement of salivary glands, and sharply decreases after the removal or burn of the submandibular salivary gland, not causing hypertrophy of salivary glands. 相似文献

Effects of serotonin uptake inhibitor fluoxetine (F) and it's complexes with glycyrrizhinic acid (GA) in molar proportions 1GA : 1F (FGA-1) and 4GA : 1F (FGA-4) on rat behavior in elevated plus-maze and brain monoamine concentrations were studied. Drugs (25 mg/kg) were administered per os 1 h before investigations. F-treated rats showed increased anxiety and reduced locomotor activity, whereas FGA-1 and FGA-4 had no effects on the behaviors. None of the compounds modified brain tissue serotonin content, but all of them decreased the level of its metabolite 5-hydroxyindole-3-acetic acid level in the hypothalamus, and FGA-4 also decreased it in the cortex. Noradrenaline levels were increased in the hypothalamus of rats treated with F in both combinations with GA. In the striatum, F increased dopamine and its metabolite DOPAC levels, but their ratio (an indicator of the neurotransmitter turnover) was not altered by this drug. Unlike F, FGA-1 significantly activated dopamine turnover in the striatum. The data obtained suggested that application of F in complexes with GA significantly modified the drug behavioral effects and these alterations may be related to specific effects of the pure compound and its complexes on the functions of the brain monoaminergic systems that regulate investigated behavior. 相似文献

Human-induced forest modification can alter parasite-host interactions and might change the persistence of host populations. We captured individuals of two widespread European passerines (Fringilla coelebs and Sylvia atricapilla) in southwestern Germany to disentangle the associations of forest types and parasitism by haemosporidian parasites on the body condition of birds. We compared parasite prevalence and parasite intensity, fluctuating asymmetries, leukocyte numbers, and the heterophil to lymphocyte ratio (H/L-ratio) among individuals from beech, mixed-deciduous and spruce forest stands. Based on the biology of bird species, we expected to find fewer infected individuals in beech or mixed-deciduous than in spruce forest stands. We found the highest parasite prevalence and intensity in beech forests for F. coelebs. Although, we found the highest prevalence in spruce forests for S. atricapilla, the highest intensity was detected in beech forests, partially supporting our hypothesis. Other body condition or health status metrics, such as the heterophil to lymphocyte ratio (H/L-ratio), revealed only slight differences between bird populations inhabiting the three different forest types, with the highest values in spruce for F. coelebs and in mixed-deciduous forests for S. atricapilla. A comparison of parasitized versus non-parasitized individuals suggests that parasite infection increased the immune response of a bird, which was detectable as high H/L-ratio. Higher infections with blood parasites for S. atricapilla in spruce forest indicate that this forest type might be a less suitable habitat than beech and mixed-deciduous forests, whereas beech forests seem to be a suboptimal habitat regarding parasitism for F. coelebs. 相似文献
