Assessment of temporal trends and rates of change in hydrochemical parameters and forest cover has been conducted to elucidate key drivers of surface water acidification in glacial lakes in the Czech Republic. Since 1984, the key driver in acidification reversal was sulphate (SO4) concentration (median decrease of ?3.58 μeq L?1 yr?1) which fell in line with reductions in sulphur (S) deposition. Reduction of nitrogen (N) deposition was followed by proportional reduction in nitrate (NO3) leaching although decline in NO3 concentrations was more pronounced at two sites, the ?ertovo Lake (CT) and Prá?ilské Lake (PR) until 2006; only ??árské pond showed effective catchment N immobilization. Coherent decline of chloride concentration was detected across all sites. The decrease of strong mineral acids was partly compensated by decrease of inorganic aluminium (Alin), especially at sites most acidified in the beginning of observations (ANC1984–1986 between ?160 and ?90 μeq L?1 at CT, ?erné Lake—CN and Ple?né lake—PL) and by reductions of base cations and increases of pH. All lakes (CN, CT, PL, PR and LK) moved to the ANC range between ?29 and 30 μeq L?1 (2010–2012) where sensitivity of pH to further reductions in acid anions may be expected. Concurrently, charge of weak organic acids (OAs) increased and partly balanced the strong mineral acid decrease as a consequence of (i) significant DOC (dissolved organic carbon) increase (median change of 0.13 mgC L?1 yr?1 since 1993) and (ii) deprotonation of weak OAs caused by pH rise. Since 2000s, bark beetle induced forest decline accelerated NO3 leaching at most of the catchments (by 200 % at LK, PL and PR). However, elevated N leaching was effectively neutralized by base cations (K, Mg, Ca) originating from decaying fresh litter, thus acidification recovery was not reversed, but slowed down. After cessation of NO3 leaching we hypothesise that collapsed tree canopy across catchments (from 12 to 87 % compared to 1984) will cause lower total acid input in precipitation (S + N) and regrowth of vegetation may stimulate higher N immobilization (in biomass and soil); processes which could lead to further increase of ANC and pH, key indicators for biological recovery. 相似文献

The structure of a new hydroxy terpenoid acid, 6(S)-isopropyl-3ξ-methyl-3ξ-hydroxy-9-oxo-4E-decenoic acid (1a), isolated from a solvent-extract of Turkish tobacco, was elucidated by the spectroscopic properties and chemical evidence. This compound was suggested to be derived from thunberganoid diterpenoids and be a precursor of two dienoic acids, 6(S)-sopropyl-3-methyl-9-oxo-2E,4E-decadienoic acid (3a) and 6(S)-isopropyl-3-methyl-9-oxo-2Z,4E-decadienoic acid (4a) in Turkish tobacco. 相似文献

The acidic constituents of sun-cured Turkish tobacco have been studied. Of the 93 acidic compounds investigated, 10 compounds are new in nature and 18 are new tobacco constituents. The 93 compounds fall mainly into three groups: fatty acids, aromatic acids, and terpenoid acids, which appear to be derived from macrocyclic thunbergane diterpenoids. 相似文献

Pigment-dispersing factor (PDF), an 18-amino acid neuropeptide, is a principal circadian neurotransmitter for the circadian rhythms of the locomotor activity in flies. Recently, two completely different types of PDF precursor were clarified; that of the cricket Gryllus bimaculatus and that of the last-summer cicada Meimuna opalifera. The G. bimaculatus PDF precursor is extraordinarily short and comprises a nuclear localization signal (NLS), while the M. opalifera PDF precursor is of ordinary length, comparable to that seen for the precursors of crustacean beta-PDH homologues. Although their PDF peptide regions were exactly the same, the regions containing a signal peptide combined with a PDF-associated peptide (PAP) were remarkably different from each other. Such a grouping suggested a fundamental role for the PAP peptide in the circadian clock, perhaps associated with PDF function. In the present study, the cDNA cloning of PDF from the adult brains of the housefly Musca domestica was carried out and it was found that an isolated clone (527 bp) encodes a PDF precursor protein of ordinary length. The PDF peptide shows a high sequence identity (78%-94%) and similarity (89%-100%) to insect PDFs and also to the crustacean beta-PDH peptides. In particular, there is only a single amino acid difference between the PDFs of Musca and Drosophila; at position 14 Ser for Musca PDF and Asn for Drosophila PDF. A characteristic Ser10 in Drosophila was retained in Musca, indicating the presence of a structural profile unique to these PDFs. The results of sequence analyses suggest that Musca and Drosophila PDFs are to be considered members of a single group that has evolved structurally. When the primary structure of the PAP regions was compared, the Musca PDF precursor also belonged to the same group as that to which the Drosophila PDF precursor belongs. 相似文献

Secreted Frizzled-related proteins (sFRPs) bind Wnts and modulate their activity. To identify putative sFRP-1 binding motifs, we screened an M13 phage displayed combinatorial peptide library. A predominant motif, L/V-VDGRW-L/V, was present in approximately 70% of the phage that bound sFRP-1. Use of peptide/alkaline phosphatase chimeras and alanine scanning confirmed that the conserved motif was important for sFRP-1 recognition. The dissociation constant for a peptide/sFRP-1 complex was 3.9 microM. Additional analysis revealed that DGR was the core of the binding motif. Although Wnt proteins lack this sequence, other proteins possessing the DGR motif may function as novel binding partners for sFRP-1. 相似文献
