The gem-disubstituted cyclotriphosphazene 1 reacted with piperazine (pip) to give the piperazine-bridged derivative 2, which is expected to exist in meso and racemic forms because the two PCl (pip) groups are stereogenic. The proton-decoupled (31)P NMR spectrum of 2 gave rise to two similar sets of ABX signals in a 1:1 ratio, consistent with formation of diastereoisomers. The meso and racemic forms of compound 2 were separated by column chromatography on silica gel and characterised by elemental analysis, mass spectrometry, (31)P NMR spectroscopy, and X-ray crystallography. Using HPLC with a chiral stationary phase, the racemic form of compound 2 was further separated into enantiomers, which were characterised by circular dichroism (CD) spectroscopy. This is the first report of the separation of enantiomers in the field of cyclophosphazene chemistry and hence the first CD spectra of derivatives in which the cyclophosphazene ring is at the chiral centre. 相似文献

Mangrove swamps are key ecosystems along the Vietnam coast. Although mangrove litter is thought to represent an important
input of organic matter and nutrients to the coastal aquatic systems, the factors determining the quality and size of this
litter flux have not been studied so far. We monitored leaf, stipule, twig, and reproductive litter monthly in monocultures
of Rhizophora apiculata mangrove forests of 7, 11, 17 and 24 years old in the Camau province, Mekong Delta, Vietnam. Litter traps were used to measure
litter fall production from June 2001 till May 2002. Total litter fall was in the range of 8.86–14.16 t DW ha−1 year−1. Leaves were the main component, and represented 70% of litter fall production in all stands. Total litter fall was lower
in the older stands but the amount of reproductive litter was significantly higher in these stands (17 and 24 years). Biomass
of leaf litter was highest between the end of the wet season and the beginning of the dry season. Phosphorus and nitrogen
levels in leaf litter were significantly higher in younger than in older stands. Overall, our study indicated that young stands
produced the highest input of litter and particularly of nitrogen and phosphorus to the surrounding aquatic system. Consequently,

The aim of this work was to study the colonization of indigenous arbuscular mycorrhizal fungi (AMF) species in fine-roots of poplar clones. Roots of 7 poplar clones were sampled from a 1-year-old trial established at an industrial site strongly polluted with heavy metals at Balatonfuzfo, Hungary. The poplar clones have shown variable degrees of colonization by AMF, suggesting differential host susceptibility or mycorrhizal dependency. After outplanting the percentage of poplar survival was strongly correlated with the frequency of AMF infection. Two clones that survived at the lowest ratio after outplanting had not been colonized by AMF in contrast to those which survived to a much higher extent. 相似文献

X-linked adrenoleukodystrophy (XALD, MIM 300100), the commonest inherited peroxisomal disorder, is characterized by central nervous system demyelination, primary adrenal failure and the systemic accumulation of saturated very long chain fatty acids (VLCFAs). The defective gene ABCD1 encodes an ATP-binding cassette (ABC) transport protein named ALDP, which functions as a crucial transporter of VLCFAs into the peroxisomes for beta-oxidation. Here, we report a Chinese man with adrenomyeloneuropathy characterized by Addison's disease and spastic paraparesis. His plasma VLCFA levels, ratios of C24:0/C22:0 and C26:0/C22:0 were all significantly elevated. We performed mutation analysis of the ABCD1 gene in the proband and the family members using direct DNA sequencing and restriction analysis. A novel insertion 496_497insG in exon 1 causing a frame shift and a premature stop codon at amino acid position 194 (D194X) was identified (GenBank accession No. NM_000033). The insertional mutation abolishes an HhaI restriction site. The same mutation was found in his mother and the eldest sister even though their clinical and biochemical abnormalities were milder. Diagnosis of XALD often relies upon the detection of elevated VLCFA levels and ratios of C26:0/C22:0 and C24:0/C22:0 in fasting blood, however, 5-15% of the obligate heterozygotes would give normal values. DNA-based testing thus remains the most reliable tool for heterozygote detection when the disease-causing mutations are known. Using restriction fragment length polymorphism with HhaI, we have devised a rapid method for the identification of the carriers among the proband's family members and possibly for the screening of the mutations in other XALD patients. 相似文献

Several psychotic disorders, including schizophrenia, may be associated with symptoms of acute agitation and aggression. While drug treatment of agitation is often essential, non-pharmacological interventions, both environmental and behavioral, also play important roles in the complex management of agitated patients. The most extensively used psychotropic drugs are parenteral formulas of conventional antipsychotics and benzodiazepines. Recently, injection forms of two second generation antipsychotics, olanzapine and ziprasidone, have become available. Both drugs have shown adequate efficacy and tolerability in several double-blind trials of intramuscular administration in acutely agitated psychotic patients. Compared to conventional medication, injection forms of the new antipsychotics may have a faster onset of action and more favorable profile of adverse events. Alternative approaches to injection administration include liquid drug formula, orally disintegrating tablets and wafers, treatment initiation with high doses, or rapid dose escalation. Evidence suggests that second-generation antipsychotics should be among the first-line choices in the treatment of agitation in acute psychosis. 相似文献

Serum amyloid P component, a member of pentraxin serum protein family, has been suggested to contribute to the progression of neurodegeneration including Alzheimer's disease by binding to beta-amyloid fibrils leading to an increased stability of the deposits against proteolytic degradation and by inducing neuronal apoptosis. Here, we show that glycosaminoglycans inhibit both the serum amyloid P component-beta-amyloid interaction and the neurotoxic effect of serum amyloid P component. These effects correlate with the structure of glycosaminoglycans and show different structure-activity relationship in the case of the two different effects. While the efficacy of the inhibition on the serum amyloid P component-induced cell death increases with the uronic acid content, the inhibitory activity on the serum amyloid P component-beta-amyloid interaction decreases with the increasing uronic acid content of the glycosaminoglycans. The inhibitory effect of glycosaminoglycans on the interaction between the first component of the complement cascade (C1q) and beta-amyloid shows a similar structure-activity relationship as on the serum amyloid P component-beta-amyloid interaction. This suggests that glycosaminoglycans interfere with the binding site on beta-amyloid for serum amyloid P component and C1q. The functional consequence of this binding has been demonstrated by heparin which promotes the proteolysis of beta-amyloid in vitro in the presence of serum amyloid P component. Our results suggest that glycosaminoglycans might have therapeutical potential on the neurodegeneration reducing its progress. 相似文献
