Effects of pressure and temperature of supercritical carbon dioxide on the extraction of triacylglycerols from plant tissue

The rate of extraction of triacylglycerols with supercritical carbon dioxide can be greatly enhanced by raising the pressure of the fluid to 600 bar, or higher, and its temperature to 60°C, or higher. Both the amount of carbon dioxide and the time required for complete extraction are reduced at such high pressures and temperatures.     

Über die unkrautvegetation von schafschwingel-feldern in sw-mecklenburg und n-brandenburg

Zusammenfassung Im südwestlichen Mecklenburg und angrenzenden Gebieten Brandenburgs wird auf leichten Sandböden ein feldmäßiger Anbau von Schafschwingel (Festuca ovina) betrieben. Man sät den Schafschwingel zusammen mit Roggen (Secale cereale) aus und nutzt den Schafschwingelbestand nach der Ernte des Roggens etwa 2–3 Jahre hindurch zur Samengewinnung. Die Schafschwingel-Felder zeigen eine besondere Unkrautgesellschaft mit vielen annuellen, den natürlichen Sandtrockenrasen der Umgebung entstammenden Arten. Sie wird hier als Ornithopus perpusillus-Scleranthus annuus-Gesellschaft bezeichnet. Am Ostrand des Schafschwingel-Anbaugebietes im Kreise Gransee ist die Gesellschaft infolge des Zurücktretens vieler subatlantischer Arten bereits verarmt.

Summary In south-western Mecklenburg and adjacent parts of Brandenburg sheep's fescue (Festuca ovina) is cultivated in soils with sandy soils. This grass is sown in autumn together with rye (Secale cereale) which is harvested the following year. Sheep's fescue, a perennial, is collected over the ensuing 2 or 3 years for seed extraction. The fields of sheep's fescue have a specific weed association containing many annual species which come from the native sand vegetation of the surrounding area. For this association the name Ornithopus perpusillus-Scleranthus annuus is proposed. On the eastern border of cultivation of sheep's fescue, in the Gransee district, this association becomes poorer owing to the decrease in abundance of the subatlantic species.
