Background
A cursory review of the current socket preservation literatures well depicts the necessity of further esthetic considerations through the corrective procedures of the alveolar ridge upon and post extraction. A new technique has been described here is a rotational pedicle combined epithelialized and connective tissue graft (RPC graft) adjunct with immediate guided tissue regeneration (GBR) procedure. Results
We reviewed this technique through a case report and discuss it??s benefit in compare to other socket preservation procedures. Conclusion
The main advantages of RPC graft would be summarized as follows: stable primary closure during bone remodeling, saving or crating sufficient vestibular depth, making adequate keratinized gingiva on the buccal surface, and being esthetically pleasant. 相似文献74.

Lyssaviruses are highly neurotropic viruses associated with neuronal apoptosis. Previous observations have indicated that the matrix proteins (M) of some lyssaviruses induce strong neuronal apoptosis. However, the molecular mechanism(s) involved in this phenomenon is still unknown. We show that for Mokola virus (MOK), a lyssavirus of low pathogenicity, the M (M-MOK) targets mitochondria, disrupts the mitochondrial morphology, and induces apoptosis. Our analysis of truncated M-MOK mutants suggests that the information required for efficient mitochondrial targeting and dysfunction, as well as caspase-9 activation and apoptosis, is held between residues 46 and 110 of M-MOK. We used a yeast two-hybrid approach, a coimmunoprecipitation assay, and confocal microscopy to demonstrate that M-MOK physically associates with the subunit I of the cytochrome c (cyt-c) oxidase (CcO) of the mitochondrial respiratory chain; this is in contrast to the M of the highly pathogenic Thailand lyssavirus (M-THA). M-MOK expression induces a significant decrease in CcO activity, which is not the case with M-THA. M-MOK mutations (K77R and N81E) resulting in a similar sequence to M-THA at positions 77 and 81 annul cyt-c release and apoptosis and restore CcO activity. As expected, the reverse mutations, R77K and E81N, introduced in M-THA induce a phenotype similar to that due to M-MOK. These features indicate a novel mechanism for energy depletion during lyssavirus-induced apoptosis.During coevolution with their hosts, viruses have developed many ways of manipulating the cellular machinery of infected cells. They inhibit or induce apoptosis for their own benefit, with the purpose of increasing viral replication and spread or subverting the host''s immune response (4, 12, 51, 59).Mitochondria have several functions in the cell, including energy production, calcium buffering, and regulation of cellular apoptosis. Death signals in the intrinsic pathway of apoptosis act directly on mitochondria, leading to their dysfunction and the release of proapoptotic factors responsible for the caspase-dependent and/or -independent death pathways (43). The process is tightly regulated positively or negatively by proteins from the Bcl-2 family (32). Caspase activation can be initiated in the extrinsic pathway of apoptosis by death receptors expressed at the cell surface; this later causes mitochondrial dysfunction (8, 20).Lyssaviruses are highly neurotropic viruses associated with rabies, a fatal encephalomyelitis considered to be a reemerging zoonosis throughout most of the world (10). It has been suggested that lyssavirus-induced neuronal apoptosis (1), previously thought to be a principal cause of pathogenesis, is an important defense mechanism against lyssavirus infection (26, 34, 56). However, the molecular basis of lyssavirus-induced neuronal apoptosis is still poorly understood (16, 55). The involvement of the viral glycoprotein (G) in inducing neuronal apoptosis has been extensively shown (13, 38, 39, 45), whereas we have suggested that M is an inducer of neuronal cell death through a tumor necrosis factor-related apoptosis-inducing ligand (TRAIL)-dependent pathway (29). However, the molecular mechanism of apoptosis has not been precisely defined, and little is known about mitochondrial involvement during lyssavirus infections (46).In this study, we take advantage of the fact that Mokola virus (MOK), a member of the genotype 3 lyssaviruses (5), is known to be less pathogenic than viruses of genotype 1 and, in particular, Thailand virus (THA) (3). We report for the first time the involvement of the mitochondrial machinery during MOK-induced apoptosis. We show that the MOK matrix protein (M-MOK), a previously described apoptogenic factor (29), interacts directly with cytochrome c (cyt-c) oxidase (CcO) subunit I (CcO1), the terminal component of the mitochondrial respiratory chain (MRC). This finding is of interest, as this interaction, which is not found with M-THA, may have a key role in controlling ATP synthesis and cellular respiration during lyssavirus-induced neuronal apoptosis and may contribute to the low pathogenesis of MOK infection. 相似文献

Rapid commercialization, industrialization and the use of nanotechnology has led to an increase in the distribution of nanoparticles (NPs) in the environment. The most common metal oxide NPs which is present within products is Titanium dioxide (TiO2). TiO2 NPs have photocatalytic nature and can affect plant growth. The current study investigated the morphological, anatomical and biochemical features of Baby sun rose (Aptenia cordifolia) after exposure to different concentrations of TiO2 nanoparticles (0, 1, 5, 10 and 20 mg L−1). Treatment with TiO2 NPs showed changes in the morphological features and increased photosynthetic pigmentation within the plant. An increase in the level of phenolics (12%) and flavonoid compounds (13%) was observed when plants were treated with moderate levels of TiO2 NPs. A reduction in the diameter of the vascular bundles and increased thickening of the transverse wall were observed in several samples. The number of scattered vascular bundles in the stems increased. The morphological, biochemical, and anatomical responses of Baby sun rose indicates that plants can adapt to environments contaminated with up to 20 mg L−1 TiO2 NPs. The cultivation of Baby sun rose plants in environments polluted with TiO2 NPs is recommended. This study enhances the knowledge of the effect of TiO2 NPs on the growth of Baby sun rose which is an ornamental plant, widely cultivated in different regions of Iran. The results of this study suggest that contaminated environments up to 20 mg L−1 TiO2 NPs can be managed by phytoremediation. Further studies are needed to investigate this plant''s tolerance strategies against stress caused by TiO2 NPs and bulk TiO2 as well as the effect of other nanoparticles on plant. 相似文献

A cross-sectional survey was undertaken to study the prevalence and intensity of infection with Toxocara cati in 100 stray cats, from April to October 2004 in urban areas of Sari, northern Iran. A total of 44 cats (44%) were found to be infected with T. cati. There was a significant difference in the prevalence of infection relative to host age and weight (P = 0.000). There was also a significant difference in the intensity of infection relative to body weight and urban sites (P < 0.05). No significant difference was found between the prevalence of infection relative to host gender, urban sites and season (P>0.05), nor in the intensity of infection between host gender, age and season (P>0.05). The intensity of infection ranged from 1 to 32 worms per cat, with a mean of 7.30 +/- 6.82. 相似文献

There are many published studies presenting ethanol and acetone as PHAs‐poor solvents, where these two solvents are shown to dissolve <2% (w/v) of PHAs at low temperatures. In this study, the suitability of ethanol and acetone for the recovery of PHB at different temperatures (from room temperature to near boiling point) in Cupriavidus necator was investigated. Experiments were performed using response surface methodology to examine the effects of different temperatures and heating incubation times on recovery percentage using the two solvents. The highest recovery percentage (92.3%) and product purity (up to 99%) were obtained with ethanol‐assisted extraction at 76°C for 32 min of incubation time. Under these conditions the extracted PHB exhibited a molecular mass of 1.2 × 106. The present strategy showed that at temperatures near its boiling point, ethanol, as a nonhalogenated solvent, represents a good alternative to halogenated solvents, like chloroform, when PHB recovery is concerned. DSC analysis showed good thermal properties for ethanol‐ and acetone‐extracted biopolymers. GC and 1H NMR analysis confirmed the extracted biopolymer to be polyhydroxybutyrate of good purity. © 2016 American Institute of Chemical Engineers Biotechnol. Prog., 32:1480–1486, 2016 相似文献

Coumarins are a well-known group of natural products distributed in the plant kingdom especially in the family Apiaceae with various biological activities. Isoarnottinin 4'-glucoside is a simple glycosylated coumarin found previously in a few genera of Apiaceae, and its biological activities have not been previously described in details. In the present paper, the compound was isolated from Prangos uloptera (Apiaceae) leaves using HPLC techniques. Antimicrobial, phytotoxic and cytotoxic activities of the compound were evaluated by disk diffusion, lettuce assay and MTT method. Our results indicated that the compound has high antibacterial effect against Erwinia carotovora, a common plant pathogen with MIC value of 100 microg/mL. The compound also exhibited significant phytotoxic activity against lettuce and modest cytotoxic activity against HeLa cell line with IC50 of 0 .84 mg/mL. It could be concluded that isoamottinin 4'-glucoside may play phytoalexin or allelopathic role for plant and may be a candidate for an antibacterial agent or a bioherbicide. 相似文献

Background
As a potent CD8+ T cell activator, peptide vaccine has found its way in vaccine development against intracellular infections and cancer, but not against leishmaniasis. The first step toward a peptide vaccine is epitope mapping of different proteins according to the most frequent HLA types in a population. Methods and Findings
Six Leishmania (L.) major-related candidate antigens (CPB,CPC,LmsTI-1,TSA,LeIF and LPG-3) were screened for potential CD8+ T cell activating 9-mer epitopes presented by HLA-A*0201 (the most frequent HLA-A allele). Online software including SYFPEITHI, BIMAS, EpiJen, Rankpep, nHLApred, NetCTL and Multipred were used. Peptides were selected only if predicted by almost all programs, according to their predictive scores. Pan-A2 presentation of selected peptides was confirmed by NetMHCPan1.1. Selected peptides were pooled in four peptide groups and the immunogenicity was evaluated by in vitro stimulation and intracellular cytokine assay of PBMCs from HLA-A2+ individuals recovered from L. major. HLA-A2− individuals recovered from L. major and HLA-A2+ healthy donors were included as control groups. Individual response of HLA-A2+ recovered volunteers as percent of CD8+/IFN-γ+ T cells after in vitro stimulation against peptide pools II and IV was notably higher than that of HLA-A2− recovered individuals. Based on cutoff scores calculated from the response of HLA-A2− recovered individuals, 31.6% and 13.3% of HLA-A2+ recovered persons responded above cutoff in pools II and IV, respectively. ELISpot and ELISA results confirmed flow cytometry analysis. The response of HLA-A2− recovered individuals against peptide pools I and III was detected similar and even higher than HLA-A2+ recovered individuals. Conclusion
Using in silico prediction we demonstrated specific response to LmsTI-1 (pool II) and LPG-3- (pool IV) related peptides specifically presented in HLA-A*0201 context. This is among the very few reports mapping L. major epitopes for human HLA types. Studies like this will speed up polytope vaccine idea towards leishmaniasis. 相似文献80.
