In 8 female patients carbohydrate tolerance was proved by means of glucose infusion test 3 days after cholecystectomy. Parameters analyzed in portal and peripheral vein blood are compared with that of 47 healthy persons. All patients demonstrate a pathological carbohydrate tolerance after cholecystectomy, further characterized by an increased lipolysis, a paradoxical rise of HGH, a diminished insulin secretion during the early and increased IRI output in the second phase. There is a significant positive correlation between portal and peripheral vein IRI concentration despite the rising portalperipheral venous IRI difference with raised portal venous IRI concentration. Corresponding differences for proinsulin concentrations can be established in the early phase only. Relations existing between blood glucose and IRI are shown by multiple regression analysis. They suggest that the altitude of IRI concentration is determined by previous blood glucose concentration.  相似文献

The mechanism of liver splanchnomegaly developed in rats bearing a transplantable pituitary mammotropic tumor which secretes large amounts of ACTH and prolactin has been studied. The results indicate that in the first phase of tumor growth liver enlargement could be due to hypertrophy, and later mainly to hyperplasia which overcomes hypertrophy. The adrenal glands were found to play an essential role in the process of liver splanchnomegaly because adrenalectomy prevented the disproportional growth of the liver. Evidence is presented showing that glucocorticoids are the dominant hormones responsible for the development of liver splanchnomegaly.  相似文献

In Wistar rats the intraveneous injection of streptozotocin (65 mg/kg body weight) caused a permanent hyperglycemia. After 5 days there were lesions in the exocrine parenchyme of the pancreas and its nerve fibers. Pathological changes were found in cytoplasm, cell membrane, nucleus and all other cell organelles, too. The zymogen granules remaining after extensive degranulation may disintegrate in two different ways: 1. Shrinking of the granules and formation of a hale between granule membrane and core, the electronic density of which is decreased; indistinct demonstrability of the granule membrane and finally its decomposition. 2. Shrinking of the granules, decrease of the electron density and either homogeneous or mainly peripheral arrangement of the disintegrated material of the granules; irregular shape of the granules and splitting of their membranes.  相似文献

Orchidectomized heterosexual men suffering from prostatic cancer with suppressed serum LH values by oestrogen priming exhibited a slight, but significant surge of LH secretion following oestrogen injection. In contrast, orchidectomized and oestrogen-primed heterosexual men with unsuppressed serum LH levels as well as intact heterosexual men did not display any positive oestrogen feedback action on LH secretion, as it was observed in intact homosexual men.  相似文献

Reduced ferredoxin:CO2 oxidoreductase (CO2 reductase) from Clostridium pasteurianum catalyzes the reduction of 'CO2' to formate with reduced ferredoxin, an isotopic exchange between 'CO2' and formate in the absence of ferredoxin, and the oxidation of formate to 'CO2' with oxidized ferredoxin. The active species of 'CO2', i.e. CO2 or HCO3 (H2CO3), utilized by the enzyme was determined. The method employed for the species identification was that of Copper et al. (1968). Both 'CO2' reduction to formate and the exchange reaction were studied. Data were obtained which are compatible with those expected if CO2 is the active species. The V and the dissociation constant Ks of the enzyme - CO2 complex in dependence of pH were determined from initial velocity studies of the exchange reaction. V was found to be only slightly affected by pH between 5.5 and 7.5. Ks was markedly dependent on pH; the constant increased with decreasing pH from 0.2 mM at pH 7.5 to 3 mM at pH 5.5.  相似文献

1. Brown adipose tissue of the hamster possesses high specific activities of soluble, cytoplasmic NAD-linked, as well as mitochondrial flavin-coupled, glycerol-3-phosphate dehydrogenases. The ratio of the two enzyme activities is high (close to 1), when compared with other tissues of the hamster. 2. In the presence of rotenone, NADH is oxidised very poorly by homogenates of brown adipose tissue. A high rate of oxidation is obtained upon further addition of dihydroxyacetone phosphate, which itself is negligible oxidised. When followed fluorimetrically glycerol 3-phosphate can also be observed to induce NADH oxidation, but only after a significant lag time. Similar results are obtained with isolated mitochondria plus high-speed supernatant. With high-speed supernatant alone, only dihydroxyacetone phosphate has any effect, whereas with isolated mitochondria neither dihydroxyacetone phosphate nor glycerol 3-phosphate induce any NADH disappearance. 3. Respiration induced by NADH plus dihydroxyacetone phosphate in homogenates equals 56% of the respiration induced by glycerol 3-phosphate alone. 4. Respiration induced by NADH plus dihydroxyacetone phosphate, as well as that induced by glycerol 3-phosphate, is inhibited by the same concentrations of inhibitors as are required for inhibition of the mitochondrial dehydrogenase i.e. EDTA, long-chain unsaturated fatty acids, long-chain fatty acyl CoA esters. 5. In isolated brown adipocytes in the presence of rotenone, norepinephrine significantly inhibits respiration induced by glycerol 3-phosphate. 6. The results obtained are discussed with respect to the role of glycerol 3-phosphate as an electron sink for cytosolic reducing equivalents to maintain a low level of extramitochondrial NADH. A means of maintaining a level of glycerol 3-phosphate adequate for triglyceride synthesis is also considered.  相似文献

"Generalized distances" between centromeres were statistically analyzed (chi2 test) on 50 normal female trypsin-banded metaphase figures. This study revealed that the homologous chromosomes of the pairs 13, 17, 14, and 21 lie closer together than would be expected by a reference distribution, and this in a statistically significant way. The same relative position was demonstrated for the chromosome groups 13-14, 13-21, 14-21, 15-22, and 14-22. Evidences were collected that also showed that homologous chromosomes of the pairs 1, 19, and 20 and the chromosome groups 15-21, 13-15, and 18-20 tend to lie closer together. Giving a functional interpretation to the phenomenon of non-random distribution of chromosomes in metaphase figures, it may be suggested that the chromosomes 13, 14, and 21 are involved in the organization of the human nucleolar organizers, more frequently than the other D- and G-group chromosomes.  相似文献

The paper summarizes the data of the author and his co-workers on regulation of the musculature of vessels, digestive tract, uterus, ureters and urinary bladder. The smooth muscle cells have different degrees of differentiation. The muscular tissue of the vessels is most differentiated. The uterus musculature is very plastical. After injury mature myocytes are the first to undergo destruction. The intermedial substance is more stable. Myoblasts, young elements of the fibroblast row and the subendothelial layer cells are the origin of muscular regeneration. Figures of mitosis and amitosis are noted. Mature myocytes and intercellular substance are formed in the process of differentiation of the regeneration. The content of RNP in the regeneration cells is high, but in the process of differentiation of its elements it becomes lower. The DNP level has inconsiderable fluctuations. In early experiments PAS-positive substances are revealed in greater degree than in later ones. The content of acid mucopolysaccharides decreases in the process of fibrillogenesis. In all internal organs under study the muscular tissue regenerated. The degree of differentiation, severity of the lesion and functional peculiarities of the organ determine the completeness of the tissue reparation. The musculature of the intestinal tract and vessels regenerates more completely. Mighty layers of connective tissue with de novo formed blood vessels are disposed among the bundles of the repaired muscular tissue of the uterus and urine bladder wall. Simultaneously a part of regeneration cells are destroyed. These are two sides of a single process of development.  相似文献
