The hydraulic conductivity of a paddy field (Anthraquic Dystrustept), a silty clay soil containing more than 29% (w/w) of gravel, in Nagoya University Farm was reduced by in situ treatment of subsurface soil using bentonite and biocalcification (microbial calcium carbonate precipitation) through the addition of CaCl2, urea, and corn steep liquor (CSL). The treatment decreased the hydraulic conductivity of the field from an average of 10?3 cm/s to a range of 10?5 to 10?7 cm/s during 69 days, with reducing the proportion of pores of subsurface soil larger than 75 µm in diameter. The biocalcification effect was observed at 10-cm thickness from the treated subsurface. Laboratory soil core experiments demonstrated that the decrease in the hydraulic conductivity was not attributed to the effect of bentonite but mainly to the effect of biocalcification. The addition of CSL enhanced the urease activity of soil required for biocalcification, even at 4°C, as indicated by a decrease in urease activation energy temperature sensitivity. These experimental results agreed with the gradual decrease in hydraulic conductivity observed in the field when the average daily temperature was 7°C (days 24–69). 高血压是一种慢性血管性疾病,易累及肾、肝、心、脑等组织,引起脑卒中和心、肾损害等并发症.本研究对高血压时肾、肝、心、脑等组织的炎症状态进行了观察.实验采用自发性高血压大鼠(spontaneously hypertensive rat,SHR)和正常血压的Wistar-Kyoto(WKY)大鼠,用RT-PCR和Western blot法观察肾、肝、心、脑等组织炎症相关因子IL-1p、TNFα、ICAM-1、iNOS、C/EBPδ和PPARγ的基因表达;紫外分光光度法观察蛋白质羰基化水平和FRAP法检测组织总抗氧化能力.结果显示(1)SHR组织炎症相关因子表达较对照WKY增强,除IL-1βmRNA在肝和脑的增加不明显外,其余均有显著性差异(P<0.05);(2)SHR和WKY大鼠肾、心、脑蛋白质羰基化水平(nmol/mg蛋白)分别为8.93±1.08和2.27±0.43、2.23±0.23和0.17±0.02、13.42±1.10和5.72±1.01,SHR明显增加(P<0.05);而肝脏蛋白质羰基化水平无明显变化;(3)SHR肾、肝、心、脑总抗氧化能力水平显著低于WKY大鼠(P<0.05).以上结果表明,SHR多个组织(肾、肝、心和脑)均存在炎症因子被诱导和氧化应激反应等明显的炎症状态,提示炎症可能在高血压及其并发症的病理改变中起重要作用. 相似文献

BackgroundThe second wave of avian influenza H7N9 virus outbreak in humans spread to the Guangdong province of China by August of 2013 and this virus is now endemic in poultry in this region.MethodsFive patients with H7N9 virus infection admitted to our hospital during August 2013 to February 2014 were intensively investigated. Viral load in the respiratory tract was determined by quantitative polymerase chain reaction (Q-PCR) and cytokine levels were measured by bead-based flow cytometery.ResultsFour patients survived and one died. Viral load in different clinical specimens was correlated with cytokine levels in plasma and broncho-alveolar fluid (BALF), therapeutic modalities used and clinical outcome. Intravenous zanamivir appeared to be better than peramivir as salvage therapy in patients who failed to respond to oseltamivir. Higher and more prolonged viral load was found in the sputum or endotracheal aspirates compared to throat swabs. Upregulation of proinflammatory cytokines IP-10, MCP-1, MIG, MIP-1α/β, IL-1β and IL-8 was found in the plasma and BALF samples. The levels of cytokines in the plasma and viral load were correlated with disease severity. Reactivation of herpes simplex virus type 1(HSV-1) was found in three out of five patients (60%).ConclusionExpectorated sputum or endotracheal aspirate specimens are preferable to throat swabs for detecting and monitoring H7N9 virus. Severity of the disease was correlated to the viral load in the respiratory tract as well as the extents of cytokinemia. Reactivation of HSV-1 may contribute to clinical outcome. 相似文献

The ability of the lignin-degrading microorganism Phanerochaete chrysosporium to attack polyethylene and polypropylene was investigated using a series of polymer blends containing 10, 20 and 30% lignin obtained from the waste product of pulp and paper industry. In the cultivation medium, lignin peroxidase and Mn(II)peroxidase activities were detected. Degradation was verified by quantitative u.v. spectrophotometric analysis of the cultivation medium and by liberation of CO2 from the blends. Measurement of the tensile strength after 30-days cultivation showed that the mechanical properties of the polymer blends were decreased during the biodegradation process. The isolation of oligomer fractions by tetrahydrofuran (THF) extraction of biodegraded polymers and their characterization by gel permeation chromatography (GPC), u.v. and Fourier transmission infrared (FTIR) spectroscopy indicates that biotransformation of the lignin component during the cultivation process initiates partial biodegradation of the synthetic polymer matrix. 相似文献

Background/AimTo evaluate whether non-closure of the visceral peritoneum after total abdominal hysterectomy (TAH) and bilateral salpingo-oophorectomy (BSO) in patients with uterine corpus carcinoma influences the volume of the small intestine within the irradiated volume during adjuvant radiotherapy or late radiation intestinal toxicity.Materials and methodsA total of 152 patients after TAH + BSO with adjuvant pelvic radiotherapy were studied. The state of peritonealization was retrospectively evaluated based on surgical protocols. The volume of irradiated bowels was calculated by CT-based delineation in a radiotherapy planning system. The influence of visceral peritonealization upon the volume of the small intestine within the irradiated volume and consequent late morbidity was analyzed.ResultsVisceral peritonealization was not performed in 70 (46%) of 152 studied patients. The state of peritonealization did not affect the volume of the irradiated small intestine (p = 0.14). Mean volume of bowels irradiated in patients with peritonealization was 488 cm3 (range 200–840 cm3, median 469 cm3); mean volume of bowels irradiated in patients without peritonealization was 456 cm3 (range 254–869 cm3, median 428 cm3). We did not prove any significant difference between both arms. Nor did we observe any influence of non-peritonealization upon late intestinal morbidity (p = 0.34).ConclusionNon-closure of the visceral peritoneum after hysterectomy for uterine corpus carcinoma does not increase the volume of the small intestine within the irradiated volume, with no consequent intestinal morbidity enhancement. 相似文献

A detailed investigation of the impact of molecular weight distribution of a photoactive polymer, poly[N‐9′‐heptadecanyl‐2,7‐carbazole‐alt‐5,5‐(4′,7′‐di‐2‐thienyl‐2′,1′,3′‐benzothiadiazole)] (PCDTBT), on photovoltaic device performance and carrier transport properties is reported. It is found that different batches of as‐received polymers have substantial differences in their molecular weight distribution. As revealed by gel permeation chromatography (GPC), two peaks can generally be observed. One of the peaks corresponds to a high molecular weight component and the other peak corresponds to a low molecular weight component. Photovoltaic devices fabricated with a higher proportion of low molecular weight component have power conversion efficiencies (PCEs) reduced from 5.7% to 2.5%. The corresponding charge carrier mobility at the short‐circuit region is also significantly reduced from 2.7 × 10?5 to 1.6 × 10?8 cm2 V?1 s?1. The carrier transport properties of the polymers at various temperatures are further analyzed by the Gaussian disorder model (GDM). All polymers have similar energetic disorders. However, they appear to have significant differences in carrier hopping distances. This result provides insight into the origin of the molecular weight effect on carrier transport in polymeric semiconducting materials. 相似文献
