Three taxa of Caulerpa racemosa that differ morphologically and genetically have been reported in the Mediterranean Sea. The ‘invasive variety’ was recorded for the first time in the early 1990s in Libya. In less than 10 years, it was found in almost all parts of the Mediterranean. The first record of C. racemosa in the Croatian part of the Adriatic Sea was in 2000 and as many as 35 different localities were established by the end of 2004. In terms of morphology, the specimens from the Adriatic Sea resemble the ‘invasive variety’. To confirm this, we analysed populations from two different localities (the island of Mljet and the peninsula of Pelje?ac) using the ITS1-5.8S-ITS2 region of 18S-5.8S-26S rDNA unit as a molecular marker. The ITS1-5.8S-ITS2 region from nine individual plants was amplified by PCR, cloned in a pCR 2.1 vector and sequenced. Phylogenetic comparison of sequences from specimens found in the Adriatic Sea with specimens of the same and similar taxa, found both inside and outside the Mediterranean, provided genetic evidence that C. racemosa populating the Adriatic Sea corresponds to the Mediterranean C. racemosa var. cylindracea (Sonder) Verlaque, Huisman?&?Boudouresque, i.e. to the ‘invasive variety’.  相似文献

A 4-year-old boy was hospitalised because showing signs of weakness, slight pain in the abdomen and while urinating. The symptoms occurred 7 days before hospitalisation. The boy did not vomit, nor did he have the urge to vomit, the defecation was regular showing no traces of blood. The physical visit a soft and painless tumefaction was confirmed ileocecally. The echography tests and the computed tomography suggested invagination, not excluding the second substrate. Barium enema showed irreductible invagination. The operative test showed that it was about the ileocolic invagination with extreme thickening of the cecum, the ascedental colon, the intestine and the retroperitoneum walls. A resection of the small intestine and a ileocolic anastomosis was performed. The pathohistological test shows the primar abdominal Burkitt's lymphoma. In spite of the subsequent therapy the boy dies three weeks after the first symptoms' manifestation. We, herewith, suggest at the importance of the echography analysis when diagnosing the Burkitt's tumor and give advantage to this analysis against the computerized tomography. We also point at the huge level of malignancy of the Burkitt's tumor in this boy.  相似文献

Earlier interpretations of this relationship were largely speculative until newer methods permitted quantitation of actions of hormones and hormonal deficiencies on cerebral metabolism. Haptoglobin (Hp) is a positive acute phase protein, synthesized in the liver, with four N-glycosylation sites carrying mainly complex type N-glycans. Its glycosylation is altered in different types of diseases but still has not been extensively studied mainly due to analytical challenges, especially the lack of a fast, efficient, and robust high-throughput Hp isolation procedure. Here, we describe the development of a high-throughput method for Hp enrichment from human plasma, based on monolithic chromatographic support in immunoaffinity mode and downstream Hp N-glycome analysis by hydrophilic interaction ultrahigh-performance liquid chromatography with fluorescent detection (HILIC–UHPLC–FLR). Chromatographic monolithic supports in a 96-well format enable fast, efficient, and robust Hp enrichment directly from diluted plasma samples. The N-glycome analysis demonstrated that a degree of Hp deglycosylation differs depending on the conditions used for N-glycan release and on the specific glycosylation site, with Asn 241 being the most resistant to deglycosylation under tested conditions. HILIC–UHPLC–FLR analysis enables robust quantification of 28 individual chromatographic peaks, in which N-glycan compositions were determined by UHPLC coupled to electrospray ionization quadrupole time of flight mass spectrometry. The developed analytical approach enables fast evaluation of total Hp N-glycosylation and is applicable in large-scale studies.  相似文献
