Testing is recommended for all close contacts of confirmed COVID-19 patients. However, existing pooled testing methods are oblivious to the circumstances of contagion provided by contact tracing. Here, we build upon a well-known semi-adaptive pooled testing method, Dorfman’s method with imperfect tests, and derive a simple pooled testing method based on dynamic programming that is specifically designed to use information provided by contact tracing. Experiments using a variety of reproduction numbers and dispersion levels, including those estimated in the context of the COVID-19 pandemic, show that the pools found using our method result in a significantly lower number of tests than those found using Dorfman’s method. Our method provides the greatest competitive advantage when the number of contacts of an infected individual is small, or the distribution of secondary infections is highly overdispersed. Moreover, it maintains this competitive advantage under imperfect contact tracing and significant levels of dilution.  相似文献

1. FXIII was isolated and purified over 4000 fold from human placenta to apparent electrophoretic homogeneity by a new procedure including ethanol precipitation. DEAE-Cellulose, molecular sieving on Sephacryl S-300 and Phenyl-Sepharose chromatography. 2. Its pI was about 5.1. Under appropriate conditions, the incubation of FXIII in the presence of thrombin did not lead to inactivation cut in the polypeptidic chain. 3. FXIII was also activated by CaCl2 and, in a lesser extent, by other divalent cations like SrCl2, BaCl2 or MgCl2. 4. The binding of calcium to FXIII exhibited a negative cooperativity. 5. A study was made of the effect of adrenalectomy over different periods of time (6, 15 and 21 days) on exocrine pancreatic secretion in the rat in basal conditions and under stimulation with CCK. It was observed that adrenalectomy does not alter the rate of pancreatic flow but the response capacity to CCK is depressed. The secretion of total protein and amylase decreases significantly after sixth day, reaching the lowest levels after 21 days. Despite this, after 6 days the adrenalectomized rats showed the same capacity of response to CCK as the non-adrenalectomized animals, while after longer periods of time (15 and 21 days) the response to CCK was inhibited. The fact that the lack of glucocorticoids prevents the maturation of zymogen granules seems to be the main reason why the acinar cells do not increase protein secretion in response to CCK at 15 and 21 days after adrenalectomy. It is concluded that the sensitivity of exocrine pancreas to CCK and the amount of zymogen granules in the acinar cells decrease as a function of the time over which the animals are deprived of glucocorticoids.  相似文献

In erythrocytes of patients with essential hypertension the level of calpastatin activity was found to be significantly lower than in red cells of normotensive subjects (1). We now demonstrate, by Western blot analysis, that the decreased inhibitory activity is due to a corresponding decrease in the amount of the inhibitor protein. This is also supported by the observation that calpastatins isolated and purified from erythrocytes of normotensive and hypertensive patients, have identical specific activity. Data are presented indicating that the decreased level of calpastatin cannot be ascribed to an accelerated decay of the inhibitor during the erythrocyte life span. Taken together the previous and present results further emphasize that an umbalanced proteolytic system may represent one of the molecular mechanisms responsible for those membrane abnormalities underlying the development of essential hypertension and its clinical complications.  相似文献

Objectives:Peroneal nerves Schwannomas are rare benign tumors. Literature is still poor of studies about clinical and functional outcomes after surgical treatment. We evaluated the pre-operative presentation of the disease and assessed clinical and functional outcomes after surgery.Methods:We collected all the cases of peroneal nerves’ neurinoma treated surgically between June 2016 and June 2020. We analyzed each patients’ personal data and carried out accurate clinical examinations before and after surgery. MRI was performed both pre-operatively and post-operatively.Results:We reported 9 cases of peroneal nerves schwannomas: five arising from the common peroneal nerve and four arising from the deep or superficial branches alone. Their mean size was 22.6 mm. Each patient showed sensation deficits before surgery; pre-operative MRC score was 4.2. Pre-Operative MSTS and LEFS scores were 23.6 and 64.4. Surgery was successful in each case. No local recurrence nor major complication occurred. Tumor size was significantly associated with both diagnostic delay and development of pre-operative deficits. Surgery was proven to be globally successful: post-operative evaluations highlighted a marked reduction of neurological signs and overall functional limitations.Conclusions:Surgical treatment at early stages of the disease represents a reliable and relatively safe therapeutic option.  相似文献

This paper is focused on the model identification of a Micro Air Vehicle (MAV) in straight steady flight condition. The identification is based on input-output data collected from flight tests using both frequency and time dorrtain techniques. The vehicle is an in-house 40 cm wingspan airplane. Because of the complex coupled, multivariable and nonlinear dynamics of the aircraft, linear SISO structures for both the lateral and longitudinal models around a reference state were derived.
