Cell therapy is one of the important therapeutic approaches in the treatment of many diseases such as cancer, degenerative diseases, and cardiovascular diseases. Among various cell types, which could be used as cell therapies, stem cell therapy has emerged as powerful tools in the treatment of several diseases. Multipotent stem cells are one of the main classes of stem cells that could originate from different parts of the body such as bone marrow, adipose, placenta, and tooth. Among several types of multipotent stem cells, tooth-derived stem cells (TDSCs) are associated with special properties such as accessible, easy isolation, and low invasive, which have introduced them as a good source for using in the treatment of several diseases such as neural injuries, liver fibrosis, and Cohrn’s disease. Here, we provided an overview of TDSCs particular stem cells from human exfoliated deciduous teeth and clinical application of them. Moreover, we highlighted molecular mechanisms involved in the regulation of dental stem cells fate. 相似文献

Genetic changes through allelic loss and nucleic acid or protein modifications are the main contributors to loss of function of tumor suppressor proteins. In particular, epigenetic silencing of genes by promoter hypermethylation is associated with increased tumor severity and poor survival. The RASSF (Ras association domain family) family of proteins consists of 10 members, many of which are tumor suppressor proteins that undergo loss of expression through promoter methylation in numerous types of cancers such as leukemia, melanoma, breast, prostate, neck, lung, brain, colorectal and kidney cancers. In addition to their tumor suppressor function, RASSF proteins act as scaffolding agents in microtubule stability, regulate mitotic cell division, modulate apoptosis, control cell migration and cell adhesion, and modulate NFκB activity and the duration of inflammation. The ubiquitous functions of these proteins highlight their importance in numerous physiological pathways. In this review, we will focus on the biological roles of the RASSF family members and their regulation. 相似文献

Glioblastomas are highly malignant primary brain tumors with one of the worst survival rates among all human cancers. With
a more profound understanding of the cellular and molecular mechanisms of tumor initiation and acquired resistance to conventional
radio- and chemotherapy, novel therapeutic targets might be discovered to optimize therapeutic approaches. In this regard,
the identification of a small cellular subpopulation, called glioblastoma stem cell or stem-like cells or glioma-initiating
cells or brain tumor propagating cells, has gained attention. In this article, we briefly summarize the current state of knowledge
about this tumor cell population and discuss future directions for basic and clinical research. 相似文献

Trace elements have been considered to play critical roles in bone metabolism. This study aims at determining the serum zinc
profile and its association with bone mineral density (BMD) abnormalities in thalassemic patients. In 131 transfusion-dependent
β-thalassemic patients, aged 10–20 yr, serum levels of zinc were measured by flame atomic absorption spectrophotometry (F-AAS).
BMD values at the lumbar (L1–L4) and femoral neck were determined by dual X-ray absorptiometry (DXA). Dietary zinc intake
and daily consumption of calcium were evaluated by a food-frequency questionnaire. Low serum zinc was found in 84.8% (in 44.7%
severely low). Below −2 BMD Z-scores were observed in 68.7% and 17.6% of the patients at the lumbar and femoral regions, respectively.
Female patients with severe zinc deficiency had lower lumbar BMD Z-scores in comparison to the other females (−3.26 vs −2.54).
Serum zinc in females with femoral BMD Z-scores <−2 was significantly lower by 16.4 μg/dL than other females. Our study suggests
that serum levels of zinc can be lowered in the thalassemic patients and partly affect the BMD. 相似文献

New series of triazole-tetrahydropyrimidinone(thione) hybrids ( 9a – g ) were synthesized. FT-IR, 1H-NMR, 13C-NMR, elemental analysis and mass spectroscopic studies characterized the structures of the synthesized compounds. Then, the synthesized compounds were screened to determine the urease inhibitory activity. Methyl 4-(4-((1-(2-chlorobenzyl)-1H-1,2,3-triazol-4-yl)methoxy)phenyl)-6-methyl-2-thioxo-1,2,3,4-tetrahydropyrimidine-5-carboxylate ( 9c ) exhibited the highest urease inhibitory activity (IC50=25.02 μM) among the compounds which was almost similar to thiourea as standard (IC50=22.32 μM). The docking study of the screened compounds demonstrated that these compounds fit well in the urease active site. Based on the docking study, compound 9c with the highest urease inhibitory activity showed chelates with both Ni2+ ions of the urease active site. Moreover, the molecular dynamic study of the most potent compounds showed that they created important interactions with the active site flap residues, His322, Cys321, and Met317. 相似文献
