Zusammenfassung Allelopathie (chemische Hemmung) ist ein Faktor bei ökologischen Prozessen wie Konkurrenz, Dominanz, Sukzession, Produktivität.Es ist zu erwarten daß die von Pflanzen ausgeschiedenen Chemikalien sich in der Umgebung der Pflanze ansammeln, bis sie für andere Pflanzen, oder für ihre eigene Entwicklung, eine hemmende Konzentration erreichen. Auch steht es fest, daß manche Pflanzen sich so gegen Tierfraß schützen.Biochemische Produkte kommen weitgehend in biotischen Wechselwirkungen vor und allelopathische Effekte spielen in fast allen natürlichen oder angepflanzten Pflanzengemeinschaften eine Rolle.

Summary The influence of temperature on NO 3 - and NH 4 + uptake, and the activity of the assimilatory enzyme NO 3 - reductase (NR) was compared to inorganic C uptake (photosynthesis) in natural assemblages of Antarctic sea-ice microalgae. NO 3 - and NH 4 + uptake reached a maximum between 0.5°–2.0°C and 2.0°–3.0°C, respectively, which was close to that for photosynthesis (2.5°–3.0°C). NR showed a distinctly higher temperature maximum (10.0°–12.0°C) and a lower Q10 value than inorganic N and C transport. Our data imply that, owing to differential temperature characteristics between N transport and N assimilation at in situ temperature (-1.9°C), the incorporation of extracellular NO 3 - into cellular macromolecules, may be limited by transport of NO 3 - into the cell rather than the intracellular reduction of NO 3 - to NH 4 + . Despite differences in temperature maxima between N transport and N assimilation, the overall low temperature maxima of inorganic N metabolism characterizes Antarctic sea-ice microalgae as psychrophilic. Our study is the first to examine the temperature dependence of inorganic N uptake and assimilation in sea-ice microbial communities.  相似文献

Summary Furosemide-binding proteins were isolated from cholate-solubilized membranes of Ehrlich ascites tumor cells by affinity chromatography, using furosemide as ligand. Solubilized proteins retarded by the affinity material were eluted by furosemide. In reducing and denaturing gels, the major proteins eluted by furosemide were 100 and 45 kDa. In nonreducing, nondenaturing gels, homodimers of both polypeptides were found, whereas no oligomeric proteins containing both polypeptides were seen. It is concluded that the furosemide gel binds two distinct dimeric proteins. The isolated proteins were reconstituted into phospholipid vesicles and the K+ transport activity of these vesicles was assayed by measurement of86Rb+ uptake against a large opposing K+ gradient. The reconstituted system was found to contain a K+ transporting protein, which is sensitive to Ba2+ like the K+ channel previously demonstrated to be activated in intact cells after cell swelling.  相似文献

Significant quantities of Ag(I), Cu(II), and Cr(III) were bound to isolated Bacillus subtilis 168 walls, Escherichia coli K-12 envelopes, kaolinite and smectite clays, and the corresponding organic material-clay aggregates (1:1, wt/wt). These sorbed metals were leached with HNO3, Ca(NO3)2, EDTA, fulvic acid, and lysozyme at several concentrations over 48 h at room temperature. The remobilization of the sorbed metals depended on the physical properties of the organic and clay surfaces and on the character and concentration of the leaching agents. In general, the order of remobilization of metals was Cr much less than Ag less than Cu. Cr was very stable in the wall, clay, and composite systems; pH 3.0, 500 microM EDTA, 120-ppm [mg liter-1] fulvic acid, and 160-ppm Ca remobilized less than 32% (wt/wt) of sorbed Cr. Ag (45 to 87%) and Cu (up to 100%) were readily removed by these agents. Although each leaching agent was effective at mobilizing certain metals, elevated Ca or acidic pH produced the greatest overall mobility. The organic chelators were less effective. Lysozyme digestion of Bacillus walls remobilized Cu from walls and Cu-wall-kaolinite composites, but Ag, Cr, and smectite partially inhibited enzyme activity, and the metals remained insoluble. The extent of metal remobilization was not always dependent on increasing concentrations of leaching agents; for example, Ag mobility decreased with some clays and some composites treated with high fulvic acid, EDTA, and lysozyme concentrations. Sometimes the organic material-clay composites reacted in a manner distinctly different from that of their individual counterparts; e.g., 25% less Cu was remobilized from wall- and envelope-smectite composites than from walls, envelopes, or smectite individually in 500 microM EDTA. Alternatively, treatment with 160-ppm Ca removed 1.5 to 10 times more Ag from envelope-kaolinite composites than from the individual components. The particle size of the deposited metal may account for some of the stability changes; those metals that formed large, compact aggregates (Cr and Ag) as seen by transmission electron microscopy were less likely to be remobilized. In summary, it is apparent that remobilization of toxic heavy metals in sediments, soils, and the vadose zone is a complicated issue. Predictions based on single inorganic or organic component systems are too simplistic.  相似文献

Reconstituted Na+,K+-ATPase from either pig kidney or shark rectal glands was phosphorylated by cAMP dependent protein kinase, PKA. The stoichiometry was 0.9 mole Pi/mole -subunit in the pig kidney enzyme and 0.2 mol Pi/mol -subunit in the shark enzyme. In shark Na+,K+-ATPase PKA phosphorylation increased the maximum hydrolytic activity for cytoplasmic Na+ activation and extracellular K+ activation without affecting the apparent Km values. In contrast, no significant functional effect after PKA phosphorylation was observed in pig kidney Na+,K+-ATPase.  相似文献

The organization of the nervous system ofDendrocoelum lacteum (Tricladida, Paludicola, Dendrocelidae) andPolycelis tenuis (Tricladida, Paludicola, Planariidae) was studied by immunocytochemical double staining, using neuropeptide RFamide and serotonin (5-HT) antisera on cryosections. The study confirmed the status of the main nerve cords (MCs) as the most important and stable of the longitudinal cords and supported the hypothesis of a common phylogenetic origin of the MCs in flatworms. The ganglion-like structures along the MCs at the beginning of transverse commissures and laterla branches showed a close contact with ventral fibres of the submuscular nerve plexus indicating an origin from crossing points of insunken ring commissures. The distributional pattern and morphology of the RFamide-IR cell bodies inD. lacteum corresponded to that of neurosecretory cells. Most RFamide-IR cells were unipolar and rounded while 5-HT-IR cells were uni- bi- and multipolar. The neutropile consisted of a dense RFamide-IR and a loose 5-HT-IR network. RFamide dominated in all parts of the genital plexus.  相似文献

We examined the searching behavior of a guild of primary parasitoids which attack the green cloverworm,Plathypena scabra (Fabricius), as well as that of an associated hyperparasitoid. We hypothesized that self-superparasitism is an important constraint on the foraging behavior of primary parasitoids, and therefore these parasitoids should avoid portions of the soybean canopy where parasitized caterpillars accumulate. Conversely, we hypothesized that the hyperparasitoid preferentially searches parts of the canopy where parasitized caterpillars accumulate. In a greenhouse experiment, we found that exposure to parasitoids [eitherCotesia marginiventris (Cresson) orDiolcogaster facetosa Ashmead] resulted in the accumulation of caterpillars lower in the canopy. In a field experiment, we measured the amount of time parasitoids spent searching in each of three strata (upper, middle, bottom) of the soybean canopy. Leaf area in each stratum was used to calculate expected values for search effort. The time spent searching each of the strata was proportional to leaf area for all primary parasitoids, exceptD. facetosa, which spent significantly more time searching the top stratum of plants than predicted by leaf area in that stratum. The hyperparasitoidMesochorus discitergus (Say) tended to search the bottom stratum of the canopy. Thus only one of the three primary parasitoids appears to search in a manner that would reduce its rate of encounter with previously parasitized green cloverworms. The hyperparasitoid searching pattern may increase its probability of encountering parasitized caterpillars, thereby increasing its foraging success.  相似文献

Human glioblastoma cells (A172) were found to concomitantly express PDGF-BB and PDGF β-receptors. The receptors were constitutively autophosphorylated in the absence of exogenous ligand, suggesting the presence of an autocrine PDGF pathway. Neutralizing PDGF antibodies as well as suramin inhibited the autonomous PDGF receptor tyrosine kinase activity and resulted in up-regulation of receptor protein. The interruption of the autocrine loop by the PDGF antibodies reversed the transformed phenotype of the glioblastoma cell, as determined by (1) diminished DNA synthesis, (2) inhibition of tumor colony growth, and (3) reversion of the transformed morphology of the tumor cells. The PDGF antibodies showed no effect on the DNA synthesis of another glioblastoma cells line (U343MGa 31L) or on Ki-ras-transformed fibroblasts. The present study demonstrates an endogenously activated PDGF pathway in a spontaneous human glioblastoma cell line. Furthermore, we provide evidence that the autocrine PDGF pathway drives the transtormed phenotype of the tumor cells, a process that can be blocked by extracellular antagonists. © 1994 Wiley-Liss, Inc.  相似文献
