Two furanoheliangolides from Calea angusta

Calea angusta afforded, in addition to known compounds, two new furanoheliangolides closely related to those of Calea pilosa.     

Diterpenes from Koanophyllon species

The investigation of two Koanophyllon species afforded, in addition to known compounds, several new diterpenes, two new geranylgeraniol derivatives and four diterpenes, most probably closely related to clerodanes; their structures, however, could not be deduced with certainty. The chemotaxonomic situation of this genus is discussed briefly.     

Furanosesquiterpenes from Brachymeris montana

Brachymeris montana afforded several furanosesquiterpenes two of them not being isolated previously. The structures were elucidated by highfield ¹H NMR spectroscopy. The present isolation of these characteristic sesquiterpenes from one of the woody South African genera of the Anthemideae is of chemotaxonomic interest.     

Methyl hexadeca-6,8,12-trien-10-ynoate from Chrysocoma tenuifolia

Chrysocoma tenuifolia afforded a new C₁₆-acetylenic ester.

The investigation of six Viguiera species afforded in addition to known compounds two new diterpenes, the 9,11-dehydro derivatives of trachylobanic and stachenic acid, two new heliangolides closely related to viguiestenin, and the acetate of falcarinol. The chemotaxonomic situation is discussed briefly.
