Background
Given the great benefits of artificial enzymes, a simple approach is proposed via assembling of Ni2+ with hemin for synthesis of Ni-hemin metal–organic-frameworks (Ni-hemin MOFs) mimic enzyme. The formation of the Ni-hemin MOFs was verified by scanning electron microscopy, Transmission electron microscopy, X-ray powder diffraction, X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy, Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy, Energy-dispersive X-ray spectroscopy and UV–vis absorption spectroscopy. This novel nanocomposite exhibited surprising peroxidase like activity monitored by catalytic oxidation of a typical peroxidase substrate, 3,3,5,5′-tetramethylbenzidine, in the presence of H2O2. By using folic acid conjugated MOF nanocomposite as a recognition element, we develop a colorimetric assay for the direct detection of cancer cells.Results
The proposed sensor presented high sensitivity and selectivity for the detection of human breast cancer cells (MCF-7) and Human Caucasian gastric adenocarcinoma. By measuring UV–vis absorbance response, a wide detection range from 50 to 105 cells/mL with a detection limit as low as 10 cells/mLwas reached for MCF-7 cells. We further discuss therapeutics efficiency of Ni-hemin MOFs in the presence of H2O2 and ascorbic acid. Peroxidase-mimic Ni-hemin MOFs as reactive oxygen species which could damage MCF-7 cancer cells, however for normal cells (human embryonic kidney HEK 293 cells) killing effect was negligible.Conclusions
Based on these behaviors, the developed method offers a fast, easy and cheap assay for the interest in future diagnostic and treatment application.62.

This study investigates length–length and length–weight relationships of three Sillago species [Sillago arabica McKay & McCarthy (Memoirs of the Queensland Museum, 27, 1989, 551), Sillago attenuata McKay, 1985 and Sillago sihama (Forsskål, 1775)] captured in the Persian Gulf, Iran. A collection of 220 specimens was captured from August 2015 to January 2016 by cast net (mesh size: 10 mm) and beach seine (mesh size: 15 mm). The relationships of total length (TL) and standard length (SL) and the relationships between total length and body weight are given. The cytoplasmic mRNAs which are transcribed from the major late adenovirus promoter can be arranged into five 3'-coterminal families, L1 to L5. We have defined the polyadenylation sites of the mRNAs that belong to the five families at the nucleotide level. From the results, the following conclusions can be made. (i) The hexanucleotide sequence AAUAAA is present at the 3' end of all late adenovirus type 2 mRNAs and precedes the site of polyadenylation by 12 to 30 nucleotides. (ii) Between one and three A residues are present in the genomic sequence at the polyadenylation site. (iii) A sequence with the composition (T)n (A)p (T)q (n, p, q greater than or equal to 1) is found 4 to 24 nucleotides beyond all the adenovirus-specific polyadenylation sites except the 3'-coterminal family L4. This sequence is also found beyond many cellular polyadenylation sites. (iv) The L1 and L2 polyadenylation sites are very similar in structure. Background aimsCell replacement therapy has become a promising issue that has raised much hope in the regeneration of central nervous system injury. Evidence indicates that successful functional recovery in patients with spinal cord injury will not simply emphasize a single therapeutic strategy. Therefore, many recent studies have used combination strategies for spinal cord regeneration.MethodsWe assessed the safety and feasibility of a bone marrow mesenchymal stromal cell and Schwann cell combination for the treatment of patients with chronic spinal cord injury. Eight subjects who received a complete traumatic spinal cord injury (American Spinal Injury Association [ASIA] classification A) enrolled in this study. The patients received this autologous combination of cells directly into the injury site. The mean duration of follow-up was approximately 24 months.ResultsNo magnetic resonance imaging evidence of neoplastic tissue overgrowth, syringomyelia or psuedomeningocele in any of the patients was seen during the study. There was no deterioration in sensory or motor function in any of the patients during the course of the study. Three patients had negligible improvement in ASIA sensory scale. No motor score improvement and no change in ASIA classification was seen. The patients had widely subjective changes in the course of the study such as urination and defecation sensation and more stability and trunk equilibrium in the sitting position.ConclusionsThere were no adverse findings at least 2 years after autologous transplantation of Schwann cell and mesenchymal stromal cell combination into the injured spinal cord. It appears that the use of this combination of cells is safe for clinical application to spinal cord regeneration. 相似文献

In this work CdTe/ZnSe core/shell quantum dots (QDs) were synthesized via a simple, rapid and room temperature photochemical approach. Optical properties of aqueous prepared CdTe/ZnSe QDs were studied systematically under gamma irradiation with dose range of 0 Gy to 20 kGy. The obtained results showed a regular red shift behavior versus gamma irradiation dose, in photoluminescence peak and absorption edge of the CdTe/ZnSe QDs. Structural properties of CdTe/ZnSe QDs before and after gamma irradiation were characterized by means of X-ray diffraction (XRD), Raman and Fourier-transform infrared (FT-IR) analyses. The obtained results showed that the crystalline structure of CdTe/ZnSe core/shell QDs did not change after gamma irradiation. Concentration and shell thickness as two important factors on the sensitivity of CdTe/ZnSe QDs in front of gamma irradiation have been investigated. Based on this study, CdTe/ZnSe QDs are suggested as good candidates for gamma dosimeter. 相似文献

The Mediterranean stone pine Pinus pinea L. (gymnosperm, Pinaceae) is much appreciated for its seed production, widely used in food preparation in the Mediterranean Basin. Seeds contain 25% proteins on a dry-weight basis. Pinus pinea accumulate globulins as major storage proteins in seeds (75% of total storage proteins), composed of several subunits of 10 to 150 kDa, revealed by SDS-PAGE. The albumin fraction (15%) represents three subunits of 14, 24 and 46 kDa. Glutelins, the least soluble fraction, represents a small proportion (10%). Their constitutive units have frequent PM of 43 kDa. Prolamins also represent a very small percentage (1 to 2%). 相似文献
