Expression of elements of apomixis was studied for ten seasons in sorghum line AS-la and its backcross hybrids on the 9E and A3 sterile cytoplasms. Cytoembryological analysis revealed aposporous embryo sacks (apo-ESs), their initial cells, and, rare, parthenogeneic proembryos in ovules of line AS-la and its BC2 and BC3 hybrids on the 9E cytoplasm. The A3 sterile cytoplasm suppressed the development of parthenogenetic proembryos, but did not affect the apo-ES formation. The frequency of apomictic elements increased in seasons with high daily temperatures and total precipitation deficiency in the period when the ovule and megagametophyte developed (r = -0.805, P < 0.01). Selection was used to isolate the families where the frequency of ovules with apo-ESs was 28% and the frequency of parthenogenetic proembryos was 14%. Emasculated panicles of line AS-la were pollinated with pollen of line Volzhskoe-4v, which carried the Rs marker dominant gene, responsible for the anthocyan color of coleoptyles and leaves in seedlings. Plants of the maternal type were found in the progenies of these crosses at a frequency of 1.4-28.1%. The genetic structure of the endosperm in grains with maternal-type seedlings was inferred from the electrophoretic patterns of storage proteins (kafirins). The kafirin spectra of grains producing maternal-type seedlings was similar to the spectrum of line AS-la and differed from the spectra of grains producing hybrid seedlings, indicating that the endosperm developed independently when apomictic grains formed in line AS-1a. For many decades X-ray myelography has remained one of the major diagnostic methods for spinal pathology. With the advent of computed tomography (CT), CT myelography using water-soluble contrast agents has been developed. Visualization of the subarachnoidal spaces of the spinal cord and dural sac without an intrathecal contrast agent has become possible with the emergence of magnetic resonance imaging (MRI). Its further development and improvement has brought to existence the new noninvasive technique MR myelography based on the suppression of a signal from the medulla and its enhancement from the cerebrospinal fluid-containing spaces. This paper compares routine X-ray myelography, CT myelography, and MR myelography used in the diagnosis of lumbosacral intervertebral disk herniation and assesses the informative value and benefits of MR myelography as a noninvasive diagnostic method for this pathology. 相似文献

A method for transmembrane protein thromboplastin (tissue factor) immobilization on polystyrene surface is described. Tissue
factor is the main activating factor launching the blood coagulation process. It is a cofactor of factor VIIa, the first protease
in the cascade of coagulation reactions. The proposed method preserves kinetic characteristics specific for native tissue
factor on the fibroblast surface. The kinetics of binding to factor VIIa and enzymic activity of the formed complex follow
Michaelis-Menten kinetics, which is also characteristic of native complex. A small difference is that dissociation constant
for tissue factor immobilized on polystyrene surface exceeds 2.7-fold that for native factor. The proposed technique of immobilization
provides for protein density on the activating surface corresponding to the tissue factor density on the fibroblast surface.
The immobilized tissue factor can be used to activate blood coagulation in methods simulating spatial dynamics of in vitro clot growth. Investigation in this direction will make it possible to register both hypo- and hypercoagulation states of
the system. This approach is advantageous over traditional methods of estimation of the coagulation system conditions, which
mainly register only hypocoagulation. Investigation of the storage time has shown that activators containing immobilized tissue
factor can be stored and used during for at least 100 days in the method studying spatial dynamics of fibrin clot formation. 相似文献

The antiviral action of herpes vaccine and poludan, an interferon-inducing agent, has been studied in experimental herpes infection, and the synergic effect of these preparations has been obtained. The best result (survival rate equal to 100% after the intraperitoneal inoculation of herpes simplex virus and 85.7% after its intracerebral inoculation) has been registered after the multiple vaccination of experimental animals and the injection of poludan 1 day before the challenge of the animals with the virus. The protective effect of the synergic action of the preparations under study coincides with the period of the maximum content of antibodies in the blood sera of the animals. 相似文献

Despite extensive genetic and animal modelling data that support a central role for the amyloid beta-protein (A beta) in the genesis of Alzheimer's disease, the specific form(s) of A beta which causes injury to neurons in vivo has not been identified. In the present study, we examine the importance of soluble, pre-fibrillar assemblies of A beta as mediators of neurotoxicity.
