The gastric cytoprotective effects of vitamin A, De-Nol and sucralfate were compared with the effectiveness of pirenzepine in healing ulcer in patients with chronic gastric ulcer. A total of 100 patients was randomized into different groups: the patients were treated with antacids, vitamin A (3 X 50.000 IU), De-Nol liquid (4 X 5 ml), sucralfate (4 X 1 g) or pirenzepine (3 X 50 mg). The treatment was continued for 4 weeks. At the beginning, 2 and 4 weeks after starting treatment the patients were subjected to endoscopy and the size of the ulcer was measured planimetrically. The ulcer-healing effect of De-Nol liquid was significantly better than that of the antacids (p less than 0.01). Ulcer size was reduced significantly in all groups (p less than 0.01), however, at the end of the study the gastric ulcers were smallest in the De-Nol treated group (p less than 0.001). The dynamics of ulcer healing in the second week was most favourable in the patients receiving vitamin A (p less than 0.01). The present data point to the cytoprotective effects of De-Nol liquid, vitamin A and sucralfate and to their ability of healing chronic gastric ulcers. 相似文献

In anaesthetized dogs blood pressure (BP), carotid artery flow (CAF), oxygen tension of arterial blood (paO2) and brain surface (bs-pO2), ECG, frequency analyzed EEG were measured and/or recorded. The changes in these parameters were detected before and during ventricular fibrillation with external and direct heart massage as well as after defibrillation. Comparisons were made between the effect of oxygen and room air ventilation. The ratio of successful resuscitation was 88% with direct heart massage and O2 respiration, 76% with external thoracic massage and O2 ventilation, and 68% with external massage combined with room air respiration. The highest BP and CAF could be achieved with direct heart massage. The results suggest that the minimal requirement for success is to achieve a BP of 5 kPa (40 mmHg) and 13 ml/min CAF. In dogs with large and stiff thorax this minimal pressure and flow could not be attained. During effective massage with room air ventilation brain surface pO2 increases moderately, but with O2-respiration it returns to normal. Small or no changes in bs-pO2 indicates unfavourable prognosis. The start bs-pO2 elevation coincides with the reappearance of the first EEG waves, while pO2 increase on the brain surface precedes the normalization of EEG. 相似文献

The pH-dependent fluorescence excitation of fluorescein located intracellularly and in the vicinity of cells of the yeast Saccharomyces cerevisiae and Endomyces magnusii was used to obtain local pH values at a linear resolution 0.2 micron. Cells suspended in water or in a diluted (5 mM) acidic buffer had a relatively alkaline interior (about 7.0-7.5) with pH decreasing gradually toward the periphery and further out through the cell wall to the value of the bulk solution. In slightly alkaline weak buffers the cells also showed an alkaline center and a slightly acidic ring-shaped area, but the peripheral region close to the membrane was again alkaline with pH increasing toward the bulk solution. The heterogeneity of intracellular pH was reduced or nearly abolished in starved or antimycin-treated cell. Suspension of cells in strong (200 mM) buffer resulted within 15-20 min in a nearly homogeneous pH pattern throughout the cell, attaining pH values of 5.5-7.5, depending on the pH of the buffer. Addition of glucose with concomitant pH decrease of the extracellular medium did not change appreciably the intracellular pattern for 20-30 min, except with diethylstilbestrol (inhibitor of proton-extruding ATPase) when the cell became more acidic. It appears that the delta pH measurements between the cell as a whole and the bulk solution (as are used for the calculation of the electrochemical potential of protons in proton-driven transports) are not substantiated, the probable pH difference across the plasma membrane being substantially smaller than previously supposed. 相似文献

Abstract— The mechanism of electroshock (ES)-induced inhibition of protein synthesis in rabbit cerebral cortex has been investigated by using a cell-free system. The protein biosynthetic activity of the post-mitochondrial supernatant (PMS) obtained from the cerebral cortex of ES-treated animals was found to be markedly lower than in controls (C). This inhibition was accompanied by a decrease of polysomes and an increase of monomers. In addition, a relative increase in light polysomes was evident at short intervals after ES treatment. No difference was found in the total soluble activity and in the activity of the elongation factors and ribonuclease present in the cell sap of C and ES animals. The biosynthetic activity of ES-total. free and membrane-bound ribosomes was approx 45% lower than that of the corresponding C fractions: polysome/monomer ratios were similarly reduced. The total content of cortical ribosomes was not affected by ES. Following ES treatment there was no change in the ribo-somal ability to elongate, terminate and release polypeptide chains, nor a decrease in the polysomal content of poly(A)-containing mRNA. These data strongly suggest that the ES-induced inhibition of protein synthesis results from a defect in the initiation process. The fruit pitting symptoms on cherries, plums and prunes were investigated from the standpoint of their etiology. Tomato bushy stunt virus (TBSV) was isolated from pitted fruits of these plants and from their leaves and identified by means of biological and serological methods. Both isolates reacted with antisera againstPetunia and artichoke strain of this virus. In addition, the etiology of pseudopox disease of plum and that of cherry detrimental canker is discussed. 相似文献
