Positron Emission Tomography (PET) images are prone to motion artefacts due to the long acquisition time of PET measurements. Recently, simultaneous magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) and PET have become available in the first generation of Hybrid MR-PET scanners. In this work, the elimination of artefacts due to head motion in PET neuroimages is achieved by a new approach utilising MR-based motion tracking in combination with PET list mode data motion correction for simultaneous MR-PET acquisitions. The method comprises accurate MR-based motion measurements, an intra-frame motion minimising and reconstruction time reducing temporal framing algorithm, and a list mode based PET reconstruction which utilises the Ordinary Poisson Algorithm and avoids axial and transaxial compression. Compared to images uncorrected for motion, an increased image quality is shown in phantom as well as in vivo images. In vivo motion corrected images show an evident increase of contrast at the basal ganglia and a good visibility of uptake in tiny structures such as superior colliculi. 相似文献

The most potent of the dioxins, 2,3,7,8-tetrachlorodibenzo-p-dioxin (TCDD), is a persistent and ubiquitous environmental contaminant. And the health impact of exposure to TCDD is of great concern to the general public. Recent data indicate that l-glutamine (Gln) has antioxidant properties and may influence hepatotoxicity. The objective of the present study was undertaken to explore the effectiveness of Gln in alleviating the hepatotoxicity of TCDD on primary cultured rat hepatocytes. Gln (0.5, 1 and 2 mM) was added to cultures alone or simultaneously with TCDD (0.005 and 0.01 mM). The hepatocytes were treated with TCDD and Gln for 48 h. Then cell viability was detected by [3-(4,5-dimethyl-thiazol-2-yl) 2,5-diphenyltetrazolium bromide] (MTT) assay and lactate dehydrogenase (LDH) release, while total antioxidant capacity (TAC), total glutathione (TGSH) and total oxidative stress (TOS) levels were determined to evaluate the oxidative injury. The DNA damage was also analyzed by liver micronucleus assay (MN) and 8-oxo-2-deoxyguanosine (8-OH-dG). The results of MTT and LDH assays showed that TCDD decreased cell viability but not l-glutamine. TCDD also increased TOS level in rat hepatocytes and significantly decreased TAC and TGSH levels. On the basis of increasing doses, the dioxin in a dose-dependent manner caused significant increases of micronucleated hepatocytes (MNHEPs) and 8-OH-dG as compared to control culture. Whereas, in cultures exposured with Gln alone, TOS levels were not changed and TAC and TGSH together were significantly increased in dose-dependent fashion. The presence of Gln with TCDD modulated the hepatotoxic effects of TCDD on primary hepatocytes cultures. Noteworthy, Gln has a protective effect against TCDD-mediated DNA damages. As conclusion, we reported here an increased potential therapeutic significance of l-glutamine in TCDD-mediated hepatic injury for the first time. 相似文献

The effects of long‐term extremely low‐frequency magnetic field (ELF‐MF) exposure on bone formation and biochemical markers were investigated in ovariectomized rats. Sixty mature female Sprague–Dawley rats were randomly divided into four different groups (n = 15): (i) unexposed control (CTL); (ii) ovariectomized only (OVX); (iii) non‐ovariectomized, exposed (SHAM + ELF‐MF); and (iv) ovariectomized, exposed (OVX + ELF‐MF). The third and fourth groups were exposed to 1.5 mT ELF‐MF for 4 h a day for 6 months. Bone mineral density (BMD) was determined using dual energy X‐ray absorption (DEXA) measurements. The formation and resorption of bone were evaluated using bone‐specific alkaline phosphatase (BAP), osteocalcin, osteoprotogerin, and N‐telopeptide. After 6 months of ELF‐MF therapy, BMD values were significantly lower in the OVX group and higher in the OVX + ELF‐MF and SHAM + ELF‐MF groups than they were before therapy (P < 0.001). Although there was no significant difference in BMD values among the groups before therapy, the BMD values increased significantly after 6 months in the OVX + ELF‐MF and SHAM + ELF‐MF groups and were reduced in the OVX group compared to the CTL group (P < 0.001). The concentrations of BAP, osteocalcin, osteoprotogerin, and N‐telopeptide in the three experimental groups also changed in a significant way compared to the CTL group. The results of the present study suggest that osteoporosis can be inhibited by ELF‐MF stimulation treatments. Keutel syndrome is a rare autosomal recessive disorder, characterized by brachytelephalangia (short, broad distal phalanges), midfacial hypoplasia, abnormal cartilage calcifications, peripheral pulmonary stenosis and hearing loss. Binder profile is a well known maxillonasal dysplasia composed of midfacial hypoplasia with absence of anterior nasal spine and facial dysmophism (short nose, flat nasal bridge, perialar flatness, convex upper lip). Here we report a Keutel syndrome presenting with Binder phenotype, abnormal calcifications, hearing loss and respiratory insufficiency in the newborn period. Keutel syndrome should be considered in the differential diagnosis of children with tracheobronchial calcifications, midfacial hypoplasia and stippled epiphysis. 相似文献

The purpose of our study was to determine the percentages of α-naphthyl acetate esterase (ANAE)- and acid phosphatase (ACP)-positive peripheral blood lymphocytes (PBL), the presence of the ANAE and ACP enzymes in leukocytes, and the proportion of PBL in greyhounds. Peripheral blood samples were collected from the cephalic antebrachial vein of 14 (7 animals of each sex) healthy 1-2-year-old greyhounds. Mean percentages of ANAE-positive PBL were found to be 73.29 ± 0.95% in female and 74.29 ± 2.21% in male dogs. The difference between mean values of the genders was not statistically significant. The ACP values were 36.00 ± 2.94% for females and 33.57 ± 2.15% for males. No significant differences were found with regard to gender. For both enzymes, although monocytes and eosinophilic granulocytes displayed a positive reaction, neutrophils gave negative reactions. The proportion of PBL was 36.29 ± 5.31% and 33.00 ± 2.38 % in female and male dogs, respectively. The differences were not significant. 相似文献
