Summary
Rhodomonas sp. was grown in a photo-bioreactor equipped with a measuring cell in a spectrophotometer as part of an external flow loop. The apparent absorbance from 400 to 800 nm of the cell suspension was recorded at predetermined intervals and stored in a computer. In this article, I question regional context as primary context in anthropological analyses. I argue that the idea of historical continuity in a geographical locality/region might prevent us from understanding not only radical change, but also more gradually emerging social patterns that connect the ethnography to very different kinds of histories and places. Concretely, I focus on the global Charismatic and Pentecostal movements, and as an experiment, I ask whether it is possible to go to ‘Pentecost’, instead of going to Melanesia. With ‘going to Pentecost’ as a heuristic device, I suggest it is possible to overcome methodological challenges in the study of global religious movements. In this article, I thus trace the practices and articulations of my interlocutors as part of a wider Pentecostal universe. I show how notions of seeing, borders, separations, and protection are crucial in ‘Pentecost’, and I connect this to key Christian ideas and values. 相似文献

BACKGROUND: Additional prognostic markers are needed for better treatment stratification of stage II colon cancer (CC). We investigated the prognostic value of tumor-infiltrating lymphocytes (TILs) in a true population-based cohort of patients with stage II CC. MATERIAL AND METHODS: A total of 573 patients were included. Tumor blocks representing the deepest invasive part of the primary tumor were used for analysis. CD3+ and CD8+ TILs at the invasive front were evaluated by immunohistochemistry on whole tumor sections. The invasive area was manually outlined, and Visiopharm Integrator System software was used for quantification. Data were dichotomized for comparison with clinical data. The prognostic value was investigated in Cox proportional-hazard models for recurrence-free survival (RFS) and overall survival (OS). RESULTS: Low CD3+ or CD8+ TILs were significantly associated with poor RFS and OS (P?=?.0021 and P?≤?.0009, respectively, log-rank test). In multiple Cox regression analysis, low CD3+ and CD8+ TILs were associated with reduced RFS with hazard ratio (HR)?=?1.386 (95% CI 1.039-1.850), P?=?.026, and HR?=?1.394 (95% CI 1.029-1.890), P?=?.032, respectively, independent of age, T-stage, localization, perforation, and microsatellite instability (MSI). In the subgroups of patients with low CD3+ or CD8+ TILs, there was no difference in survival between patients with MSI and microsatellite-stable tumors, (P?=?.821 and P?=?.907, respectively). CONCLUSION: Low CD3+ and CD8+ TILs in the invasive area are both related to inferior prognosis of stage II CC, and we recommend either of these parameters to be considered as additional high-risk factor. 相似文献

By differential screening of a cDNA library constructed frompoly (A+) RNA of ABA-treated seeds of Fagus sylvatica L., wehave isolated an ABA-responsive clone that is present in dormantseeds and under conditions that maintain dormancy, but it tendsto disappear under conditions breaking seed dormancy. A searchof the sequence data bases showed that the clone codes for aGlycine-Rich Protein and has sequence similarity to RNA-bindingproteins. The clone, which exibits the characteristics of lea-genes,is up-regulated by ABA and down-regulated by GA3. Paclobutrazolabolishes the effect of GA3, which is restored upon additionof GA3. Studies of the morphology of Ascaris suum larvae developing in the egg during embryonation in vitro at room temperature showed that 2 molts take place within the egg. The first larval stage (L1) appeared in the egg after 17-22 days of cultivation, the first molt to the second larval stage (L2) took place from day 22 to day 27, and the second molt to the third larval stage (L3) started on day 27 and continued during the 60-day observation period. Infectivity of the eggs was studied by oral egg inoculation in mice and showed that the L3 are the infective stage for mice. Molting to the L3 stage occurs gradually over a period of 2-6 wk, and it is recommended to have an additional maturation period so the infectivity of an egg batch may reach maximum level. 相似文献

Background and aims
There is substantial evidence that legume-derived Nitrogen (N) is transferred to neighboring non-legumes in grassland mixtures. However, there is sparse information about how deep rooted non-legume forage herbs (forbs) influence N transfer in multi-species grasslands.Methodology
Red clover (Trifolium pretense L.) was grown together with perennial ryegrass (Lolium perenne L.) and one of three forb species: chicory (Cichorium intybus L.), ribwort plantain (Plantago lanceolata L.) or caraway (Carum carvi L.) in a field experiment. During the first year after the establishment, red clover leaves were labeled with 15N-urea to determine the N transfer from red clover to companion ryegrass and forbs.Results
On an annual basis, up to 15 % of red clover N was transferred to the companion ryegrass and forbs, but predominantly to the grass. The forb species did not differ in their ability to take up clover N, but biomass production and soil N acquisition was higher in chicory and plantain than in caraway.Conclusions
Grass relied to a great extent on clover N, whereas forbs relied on soil N. Soil 15N-enrichment indicated that N transfer occurred in the upper soil layers and that a dependence on clover-derived N did not necessarily give grass a growth advantage.49.

therapy. We want to characterize the novel far-red fluorescent protein Katushka as a marker for gene expression using time
domain fluorescence in vivo imaging. Highly efficient transgenic expression was observed after DNA electrotransfer with 100-fold
increase in fluorescent intensity. The fluorescent signal peaked 1 week after transfection and returned to background level
within 4 weeks. Katushka expression was not as stable as GFP expression, which was detectable for 8 weeks. Depth and 3D analysis
proved that the expression was located in the target muscle. In vivo bio-imaging using the novel Katushka fluorescent protein
