Vergleich mit einigen anderen europäischen Daten über den Haselpollengehalt der Luft. In Mitteleuropa kamen die meisten Haselpollen zu Beginn oder gegen Ende des Monats März vor. Stündliche Höchstwerte wurden in den Tag- und Abendstunden gemessen. Morgens kamen keine hohen Stundenwerte vor. Temperaturmessungen lassen vermuten, daß für hohe Haselpollengehalte der Luft in Norddeutschland höhere Temperaturen nötig sind als in südwestdeutschen Gebieten. 相似文献

Lessonia trabeculata is one of the major kelps found along the northern coast of Chile. In addition to its ecological and economic importance, L. trabeculata may be severely affected by environmental disturbances such as El Níño, which during 1982–1983 cleared wide areas along the coast of Peru and Chile. The main goal of this work was to mass culture L. trabeculata and to observe the growth of sporophytes obtained in the laboratory and cultured in the sea. Juvenile sporophytes obtained in the laboratory were attached between 1 and 6 m in depth. The linear growth rate, as blade elongation, was recorded weekly for seven months. No significant differences (p < 0.05) were found in sporophyte blade linear growth at different depths. The best elongation growth rate was 7.5 ± 1.6 mm d–1 at 3 m during March. This preliminary work suggests that L. trabeculata follows an annual growth cycle similar to that of other Laminariales with a high rate of blade elongation during the summer and decreasing towards autumn. This species can be considered a potential candidate for aquaculture to increase the availability of raw material and aid in repopulation of overexploited areas. 相似文献

To determine the feasibility of the micronuclie procedure for cytogenetic studies, a comparatively weak chromosome breaking agent, trimethylphosphate (TMP) and the potent alkylating agent, triethylenemelamine (TEM) were evaluated. The procedure followed was that of Matter and Schmid with the following modifications: (a) direct flushing of bone marrow with 0.2 ml calf fetal serum, (b) air drying slides for a period of only 1 h, and (c) the use of pH 6.0 phosphate buffer to dilute both the Wright and Giemsa stains.With this technique a dose-response curve was generated for both TMP and TEM, using mice as the experimental animal. With TMP, a doubling over background was found when a concentration of 0.5 g/kg per day for five days was administered. To establish a statistically significant doubling dose over the control, a minimum of five animals must be used woth 2000 polychromatic cells being analyzed per animal.Of the two antischistosomal agents tested, hycanthone yielded an increase of 20-fold in the number of mircronuclei over control at 40 mg/kg administered i.p. for five days, while with niridazole no increase in micronuclei at several concentrations tested both by single and multiple injection was found.The results obtained with these compounds compare favorably woth what has been reported for the standard in vivo metaphase analysis. 相似文献

Surfactant protein D (SP-D) plays important roles in innate host defense against influenza A virus (IAV) infection, in part by modifying interactions with neutrophils. Human neutrophil defensins (HNPs) inhibit infectivity of enveloped viruses, including IAV. Our goal in this study was to characterize antiviral interactions between SP-D and HNPs. Recombinant and/or natural forms of SP-D and related collectins and HNPs were tested for antiviral activity against two different strains of IAV. HNPs 1 and 2 did not inhibit viral hemagglutination activity, but they interfered with the hemagglutination-inhibiting activity of SP-D. HNPs had significant viral neutralizing activity against divergent IAV strains. However, the HNPs generally had competitive effects when combined with SP-D in assays using an SP-D-sensitive IAV strain. In contrast, cooperative antiviral effects were noted in some instances when relatively SP-D-resistant strains were treated with SP-D and HNPs. HNPs were found to bind to the neck and/or carbohydrate recognition domain of SP-D. This binding was specific because no, or minimal, binding to other collectins was found. HNPs precipitated SP-D from bronchoalveolar lavage fluid and reduced the antiviral activity of bronchoalveolar lavage fluid. HNP-1 and -2 differed somewhat in their independent antiviral activity and their binding to SP-D. These results are relevant to the early phase of host defense against IAV, and suggest a complex interplay between SP-D and HNPs at sites of active inflammation. 相似文献

Elf5 is an epithelial-specific ETS factor. Embryos with a null mutation in the Elf5 gene died before embryonic day 7.5, indicating that Elf5 is essential during mouse embryogenesis. Elf5 is also required for proliferation and differentiation of mouse mammary alveolar epithelial cells during pregnancy and lactation. The loss of one functional allele led to complete developmental arrest of the mammary gland in pregnant Elf5 heterozygous mice. A quantitative mRNA expression study and Western blot analysis revealed that decreased expression of Elf5 correlated with the downregulation of milk proteins in Elf5(+/-) mammary glands. Mammary gland transplants into Rag(-/-) mice demonstrated that Elf5(+/-) mammary alveolar buds failed to develop in an Elf5(+/+) mammary fat pad during pregnancy, demonstrating an epithelial cell autonomous defect. Elf5 expression was reduced in Prolactin receptor (Prlr) heterozygous mammary glands, which phenocopy Elf5(+/-) glands, suggesting that Elf5 and Prlr are in the same pathway. Bisulfite compounds are shown to be nonspecific inhibitors ofphotosynthetic processes and of ion transport in green tissues.CO2 fixation and light-dependent transient changes in externalpH are inhibited about 50% by 5x104 M glyoxal-Na-bisulfite.Chloride uptake in the light and in the dark is inhibited tothe same extent at this concentration. At 5x103 M theinhibitor reduces ATP levels in the light and in the dark, andeffects on glycolate oxidase and PEP carboxylase are observed.The extent of inhibition is dependent on time of treatment withglyoxal-Na-bisulfite and freshly prepared NaHSO3 is equallyas effective as the addition compound. The interacting effects of global changes—including increased temperature, altered precipitation, reduced acidification and increased dissolved organic matter loads to lakes—are anticipated to create favourable environmental conditions for cyanobacteria in northern lakes. However, responses of cyanobacteria to these global changes are complex, if not contradictory. We hypothesized that absolute and relative biovolumes of cyanobacteria (both total and specific genera) are increasing in Swedish nutrient‐poor lakes and that these increases are associated with global changes. We tested these hypotheses using data from 28 nutrient‐poor Swedish lakes over 16 years (1998–2013). Increases in cyanobacteria relative biovolume were identified in 21% of the study sites, primarily in the southeastern region of Sweden, and were composed mostly of increases from three specific genera: Merismopedia, Chroococcus and Dolichospermum. Taxon‐specific changes were related to different environmental stressors; that is, increased surface water temperature favoured higher Merismopedia relative biovolume in low pH lakes with high nitrogen to phosphorus ratios, whereas acidification recovery was statistically related to increased relative biovolumes of Chroococcus and Dolichospermum. In addition, enhanced dissolved organic matter loads were identified as potential determinants of Chroococcus suppression and Dolichospermum promotion. Our findings highlight that specific genera of cyanobacteria benefit from different environmental changes. Our ability to predict the risk of cyanobacteria prevalence requires consideration of the environmental condition of a lake and the sensitivities of the cyanobacteria genera within the lake. Regional patterns may emerge due to spatial autocorrelations within and among lake history, rates and direction of environmental change and the niche space occupied by specific cyanobacteria. 相似文献
