This study describes the GC‐FID, GC/MS, GC‐O, and enantioselective GC analysis of the essential oil hydrodistilled from leaves of Lepechinica mutica (Lamiaceae), collected in Ecuador. GC‐FID and GC/MS analyses allowed the characterization and quantification of 79 components, representing 97.3% of the total sample. Sesquiterpene hydrocarbons (38.50%) and monoterpene hydrocarbons (30.59%) were found to be the most abundant volatiles, while oxygenated sesquiterpenes (16.20%) and oxygenated monoterpenes (2.10%) were the minor components. In order to better characterize the oil aroma, the most important odorants, from the sensorial point of view, were identified by Aroma Extract Dilution Analysis (AEDA) GC‐O. They were α‐Pinene, β‐Phellandrene, and Dauca‐5,8‐diene, exhibiting the characteristic woody, herbaceus, and earthy odors, respectively. Enantioselective GC analysis of L. mutica essential oil revealed the presence of twelve couples and two enantiomerically pure chiral monoterpenoids. Their enantiomeric excesses were from a few percent units to 100%. Moreover, the essential oil exhibited moderate in vitro activity against five fungal strains, being especially effective against M. canis, which is a severe zoophilic dermatophyte causal agent of pet and human infections. 相似文献

We analysed a global dataset on freshwater fish introductions (4241 events of 688 species). Freshwater fish flows were investigated with flow diagrams and χ2 tests, while PERMANOVA (permutational multivariate analysis of variance) was used to test the association between species and regions and temporal shifts. Cluster analysis revealed major recipient areas and composition of the introduced species. Finally, changes in distances between donor and recipient sites were tested with PERMANOVA.Results
The number of introductions between biogeographic regions mirrored the European and North American dominance before World War II (WWII) and the trends in recreational fishing, biocontrol programmes and food production, especially in the Sino-Oriental region, which has a long tradition of aquaculture and fishkeeping. Over the years, the origins and composition of introduced species changed uniquely in each biogeographic region, although the most introduced species are common to every region. Salmonids and other cold-water species were frequently introduced before the 1950s, whereas tropical ornamental and aquaculture species currently prevail. Distances between donor and recipient sites did not vary over the time. After WWII, the Sino-Oriental region consolidated its dominance and the Ethiopian and Neotropical regions emerged as new global donor and recipient regions.Main Conclusions
Global policy should focus on tropical ornamental and aquaculture species, which could benefit from global warming, especially in the Sino-Oriental region, because it currently dominates freshwater fish species flows, and the Ethiopian and Neotropical regions, because they recently emerged as important global donor and recipient regions of freshwater fish introductions. 相似文献15.
Noggin genes are mainly known as inhibitors of the Bone Morphogenetic Protein (BMP) signalling pathway. Noggin genes play an important role in various developmental processes such as axis formation and neural differentiation. In vertebrates, inhibition of the BMP pathway is usually carried out together with other inhibitory molecules: chordin and follistatin. Recently, it has been shown in planarians that the BMP pathway has a conserved function in the maintenance and re-establishment of the dorsoventral axis during homeostasis and regeneration. In an attempt to further characterize the BMP pathway in this model we have undertaken an in silico search of noggin genes in the genome of Schmidtea mediterranea. In contrast to other systems in which between one and four noggin genes have been reported, ten genes containing a noggin domain are present in S. mediterranea. These genes have been classified into two groups: noggin genes (two genes) and noggin-like genes (eight genes). Noggin-like genes are characterized by the presence of an insertion of 50–60 amino acids in the middle of the noggin domain. Here, we report the characterization of this expanded family of noggin genes in planarians as well as their expression patterns in both intact and regenerating animals. An automated sequential injection analysis (SIA) system using stop-flow technique was developed to determine methanol concentration by means of the enzymatic reactions of alcohol oxidase and peroxidase. Its application as an on-line device for monitoring Pichia pastoris fermentations producing an heterologous protein was demonstrated. Linear response, observed up to 2 g l–1, was reached by including a dilution chamber in the SIA manifold. Production of alcohol from raw wheat flour by Amyloglucosidase and Saccharomyces cerevisiae 总被引:1,自引:0,他引:1
Ethanol production, by a simultaneous saccharification and fermentation process from raw wheat flour, has been performed by Saccharomyces cerevisiae and a low level of amyloglucosidase enzyme. The fermentation time was about 60 h after a 6 h pre-saccharification, with an amyloglucosidase (AMG) level of 270 AGU. kg(-1) starch, but only 31 h with a simultaneous saccharification fermentation process (SSF). When an AMG level of 540 AGU. kg(-1) starch was used, the time decreased to 21 h, giving an ethanol concentration of 67 g. l(-1). Sugar composition of the wort after the liquefaction may be responsible of the difference between these two process. Maltose, a fermentable sugar, was produced in high concentration during the liquefaction, allowing a shorter process period, counteracting the effect of the slow starch hydrolysis at 35 degrees C (SSF temperature). 相似文献

Different cultivation strategies have been compared for the production of Rhizopus oryzae lipase (ROL) from Pichia pastoris. Several drawbacks have been found using a methanol non-limited fed-batch. On the one hand, oxygen limitation appeared at early cell dry weights and, on the other hand, high cell death was observed. A temperature limited fed-batch has been proposed to solve both problems. However, in our case study a methanol non-limited fed-batch results in better productivities. Finally, a lower salt medium were used to overcome cell death problems and a temperature limited fed-batch was applied thereafter to solve oxygen transfer limitations. This combined strategy has resulted in lower productivities when compared to a methanol non-limited fed-batch. However the culture could be longer prolonged and a 1.3-fold purer final product was obtained mainly due to cell death reduction. 相似文献
