The developing taste buds of vallate papillae were studied with electron microscope in rats during the first 7 days after birth. Two types of cells--light and dark--are identified in the taste buds of a one day old animal. The apical parts of dark cells are characterized by numerous dark granules. A distinguishing feature of light cells is the presence of synaptic contacts with afferent intragemmal nerves. On the 4th day of development on the top of the apical parts of the cell, a microvillar apparatus is seen to form, which does not yet communicate with the oral cavity. On the 7th day, basal cells appear in the taste buds. Some of these cells are seen mitotically dividing. The differentiated microvillar apparatus now communicates with oral cavity. The structure of the taste buds is getting similar to that in the adults. The structural and functional peculiarities of the developing taste buds are discussed in association with the period of ontogenesis under consideration. 相似文献

Daily administration of 12 mg of dexamethasone to monkeys during 10 days resulted in decrease of the levels of alpha- and gamma-endorphins and cortisol 7 days after the first injection. The titers of these peptides in plasma of monkeys. exposed to two hours of immobilization stress were elevated twice above basal levels. The maximum elevation took place 6 hours after the beginning of immobilization. This effect wasn't detected in monkeys, which received 12 mg of dexamethasone during 10 days. 相似文献

Electrophysiological, morphometric and behavioural studies have been made on the role of parafascicular complex in regulation of nociceptive sensitivity in 45 rabbits from the 1st to the 16th day of their postnatal life. The evoked potential to nociceptive stimulation was recorded already in 1-day animals. Analysis of amplitude-temporal parameters of the EPs in acute experiments revealed a sharp increase in their positive phase at the 7-8th day of life. As it was shown in the behavioural experiments, that is just the period of maximum generalized reaction to nociceptive stimulation. It was found that to this age, the surface of neurones in the complex significantly increases, their density remaining still high. The data obtained are discussed in relation to factors which account for ontogenetic changes in electrophysiological correlates of neuronal responses in the parafascicular complex to peripheral nociceptive stimulation. 相似文献

The dehydrogenase activity of Escherichia coli BB cell extracts was studied at different growth stages in the presence of different substrates and triphenyl tetrazolium chloride as an electron acceptor. It was shown that the highest degree of reduction of triphenyl tetrazolium chloride was observed during exponential growth of the bacteria when potassium isocitrate was used as a substrate. It was found that extracts of the bacteria during the exponential phase of growth on an inert glassy carbon electrode in a three-electrode liquid electrochemical cell manifested electrochemical activity in the presence of potassium citrate and methylene blue or potassium hexacyanoferrate(III) as redox mediators. 相似文献

Relationships between cell division and inositol cycle modulation caused by different effectors in roots of Pisum sativum were studied. Stimulation of the inositol cycle by myoinositol increased the mitotic index of meristematic cells and root length, while the inhibition of the cycle with Li+ and a heavy metal Gd3+ considerably decreased mitotic activity and growth. Exposure of roots to 10 mM CaCl2 and 15 mM myoinositol resulted in the accumulation of chromosome aberrations. The continuous replacement of teeth throughout their lifetime is a common characteristic of most chondrichthyans. This process was already present in the earliest representatives of the group. It has been well established that different species of extant sharks show rapid tooth replacement rates; however, some authors have suggested that in early chondrichthyans this rate might have been much slower. Here we present a qualitative approach to analyse tooth replacement rates in the Early Devonian shark Leonodus carlsi , the earliest tooth-bearing shark known to date. For this, we have examined 1,103 isolated teeth from Celtiberia, Spain. Our study provides strong evidences of an extremely slow dental replacement in this primitive chondrichthyan based on three independents analyses: (1) statistical analysis of the wear degree, demonstrating that teeth remain functional for a long period of time; (2) analysis of both the histological and the morphological features of the teeth cusps suggests that this chondrichthyan used a maturation process that optimizes its function, thus worn teeth show an efficient working shape that implies their teeth remained functional for a long time after being modelled by use; and (3) estimations of size increments between teeth (Δs) of the same dental family for some recent sharks whose rates of replacement were known prove that Δs is inversely proportional to the rate of replacement ( R 2 = 0.8327). The estimated values of tooth replacement rates obtained from Δs for L. carlsi and for some Late Devonian cladoselachian sharks are significatively slower than those observed in current sharks. 相似文献

The dynamics of growth and development of Xanthomonas rubrilineans, a culture producing intracellular aminopeptidase, was studied. A difference between the growth rate determined by intensity of the total biomass accumulation and the rate of the culture multiplication was found. The difference was due to the presence of two phases in the culture development during the exponential growth: the phase of increasing the linear sizes of the cells and the phase of the culture intensive multiplication. The most intensive synthesis of aminopeptidase was observed during the phase of increasing the linear sizes of the cells. The dynamics of consumption of the main sources of carbon and nitrogen by the culture was investigated. 相似文献
