Seasonal dynamics of the zoobenthic communities in the mesohaline zone of the Loire estuary (France) 总被引:1,自引:1,他引:0
The application of correspondence factorial analysis to four types of sediment in the upper reaches of the Loire estuary enabled the significance of environmental factors in the spatial distribution, abundance and seasonal dynamics of the biotic communities to be determined. In coarse sand, the communities are stable but species are few in number and population densities are low. In muddy sediments (from muddy sand to fluid mud) population densities are high but undergo seasonal fluctuations due to changes in the hydrological regime (especially the dissolved oxygen regime). This is true for the composition of the biotic communities. The oligohaline phase, in which the fluvial element is predominant, is characterized by abundance maxima due to freshwater species. The mesohaline phase, in which the marine element is predominant, exerts a restrictive action on population densities; certain species are supplanted by others, their development being governed by the quality of the environment. 相似文献

Summary The mobile genetic element Tn4430, originating from the gram-positive bacterium, Bacillus thuringiensis, and previously described as the Th-sequence, is the first transposon isolated from the genus Bacillus. In the present work a gene (APH-III) conferring resistance to kanamycin was inserted into this 4.2 kb transposon. Transposition experiments showed that Tn4430APH-III could transpose in the gram-negative host Escherichia coli when its insertion functions were supplied by an intact copy of Tn4430. By transposing Tn4430APH-III directly onto pBR322, it was possible to determine the nucleotide sequence of the terminal inverted repeats of Tn4430 and of the target DNA site. Identical 38 bp in inverted orientation are situated at each end of the transposon and there is a direct duplication of 5 bp at the insertion site. Thus, it is clear that Tn4430 is closely related to the transposons belonging to the Tn3 family (class II elements). 相似文献

The study of the migration dynamics of glass eels(Anguilla anguilla) in a small estuary of the French Atlantic coast shows a two-stage sequence: (1) From November to March, the glass eels migrate upstream by using the tidal currents. The estuarine hydrology leads to a natural trapping of migrants in a typical area where the current speed slows down. The location of this zone depends on hydraulic conditions. The greater the tide is the farther upstream this area will be. This phenomenon leads to an increasing catchability of elvers. (2) From April onwards, when the water temperature reaches 10–12 °C, the glass eels swim actively upstream in the estuary. Then, fish concentrate just below the first dam. Phosphorylation of phospholamban by either a cAMP-dependent or a calmodulin-dependent kinase stimulates the Ca2+ transporting activity of cardiac sarcoplasmic reticulum membranes. It has now been found that phospholamban consists of 2 distinct proteins; one is the specific substrate for the cAMP-dependent phosphorylation, and the other for the calmodulin-dependent kinase. Murine responses to both the male specific histocompatibility antigen H-Y and the erythrocyte alloantigen Ea-1 are regulated by genetic factors. In each case a single major gene that controls the immune response has been identified, but additional modifying factors can be demonstrated if appropriate strain combinations are studied. A single gene controlling the response to Ea-1 antigens, which segregates when strains YBR and B10.D2 are crossed, has been shown not to be an allele of theIr-2 locus. A new phenomenon has also been observed in the control of anti-Ea-1 antibody production in that the mating of two responding strains, YBR and HTG, produces an F1 generation of complete nonresponders. By linkage tests it was shown that the responding strain HTG possesses the nonresponder allele at theIr- 2 locus, so there appear to be recessive genes in the background which are able to overcome the suppressive influence of this allele. 相似文献
