A spreading depression (SD) can spontaneously develop in seizures, attacks of migraine, vascular disorders and other pathological states of the brain. However, problems in technique of recording the DC-potential in the neocortex of humans and waking animals substantially restrict the possibilities of studying functional consequences of the SD. In this article, the EEG pattern was studied in detail at the moment of the SD development. Specific features were revealed, which make it possible to detect the SD without recording shifts of the DC-potential. At the moment of the SD arrival, the interhemispheric balance drastically disturbs because of a strong decrease in the high-frequency activity. By the time indices, the course of the suppression of the gammal and gamma2 EEG frequencies is the most reliable symptom of the SD wave development. The EEG spectral power in the delta band increases with a certain delay in reference to the deep depression of the high-frequency activity and is, in essence, an SD aftereffect. The found EEG signs of an SD wave can substantially simplify the identification of this phenomenon both in experiment and clinical conditions in certain pathological states of the brain. 相似文献

Gender difference in intensity of emotional response depending on the cognitive disclosure of the emotions were analyzed in detail. Texts with emotionally negative content were presented to the subjects, and the parameters of their cardiovascular activity were recorded either before or after filling a special checklist to assess the impression caused by the texts and to reveal changes in the physiological activation of the subjects in response to these texts. Unlike women, men intensified their affective involvement into processing the content of the texts after filling the checklist. The results are interpreted in the context of current research on physiological emotional processes during their cognitive disclosure; the role of gender differences in the regulation of these processes was also studied. 相似文献

The oxy-ferrous complex of cytochrome P450 2B4 (2B4) has been prepared at -40 degrees C with and without bound substrate [butylated hydroxytoluene (BHT)] and radiolytically one-electron cryoreduced at 77 K. Electron paramagnetic resonance (EPR) shows that in both cases the observed product of cryoreduction is the hydroperoxo-ferriheme species, indicating that the microsomal P450 contains an efficient distal-pocket proton-delivery network. In the absence of substrate, two distinct hydroperoxo-ferriheme signals are observed, reflecting the presence of two major conformational substates in the oxy-ferrous precursor. Only one species is observed when BHT is bound, indicating a more ordered active site. BHT binding also changes the g-tensor components of the hydroperoxo-ferric 2B4 intermediate, indicating that the substrate modulates the properties of this intermediate. Step annealing the cryoreduced ternary 2B4 complex at >or=175 K causes the loss of hydroperoxo-ferric 2B4 and the parallel appearance of high-spin ferric 2B4; liquid chromatography-tandem mass spectroscopy (LC-MS/MS) analysis shows that in this process BHT is quantitatively converted to two products, hydroxymethyl BHT (1) and 3-hydroxy- tert-butyl BHT (2). This implies that the hydroperoxo-ferric 2B4 prepared by cryoreduction is catalytically active and that the high-spin state observed after annealing contains an enzyme-bound product of BHT monooxygenation. The ratio of products generated during cryoreduction and annealing (6.2/1) is significantly different from the ratio (2.5/1) at ambient temperature. These findings suggest that substrate is held more rigidly relative to the oxidizing species at low temperatures and/or that dissociation of FeOOH is inhibited at low temperature. The recognition of noisy visual images (Arabic numerals) carried out under the conditions of recognition accompanied by classical or rock music of a specified power improves the recognition. When music-accompanied recognition of visual images is carried out, the structure of coherent relations (their number and significance level) observed during recognition without musical accompaniment is activated and the left-sided asymmetry of the coherence values is also retained (instead of the right-sided asymmetry, which appears in response to music alone). A study was made of the frequency and duration of neurological disorders after cranio-caudal irradiation of rats with doses of 7.5-500 Gy delivered to the head. As the mean effective dose increased the neurological disorders occurred in the following order: tremor, rotatory movements hyperkinesia, opisthotonos, and convulsions.
