COVID-19 appeared in December 2019, needing efforts of science. Besides, a range of light therapies (photodynamic therapy, ultraviolet [UV], laser) has shown scientific alternatives to conventional decontamination therapies. Investigating the efficacy of light-based therapies for environment decontamination against SARS-CoV2, a PRISMA systematic review of Phototherapies against SARS-CoV or MERS-CoV species discussing changes in viral RT-PCR was done. After searching MEDLINE/PubMed, EMBASE, and Literatura Latino-Americana e do Caribe em Ciências da Saúde we have found studies about cell cultures irradiation (18), blood components irradiation (10), N95 masks decontamination (03), inanimate surface decontamination (03), aerosols decontamination (03), hospital rooms irradiation (01) with PDT, LED, and UV therapy. The best quality results showed an effective low time and dose UV irradiation for environments and inanimate surfaces without human persons as long as the devices have safety elements dependent on the surfaces, viral charge, humidity, radiant exposure. To interpersonal contamination in humans, PDT or LED therapy seems very promising and are encouraged. 相似文献

The thermal denaturation of plastocyanin in aqueous solution was investigated by means of DSC, ESR and absorbance techniques,
with the aim of determining the thermodynamic stability of the protein and of characterizing the thermally induced conformational
changes of its active site. The DSC and absorbance experiments indicated an irreversible and kinetically controlled denaturation
path. The extrapolation of the heat capacity and optical data at infinite scan rate made it possible to calculate the kinetic
and thermodynamic parameters associated with the denaturation steps. The denaturation pathway proposed, and the parameters
found from the calorimetric data, were checked by computer simulation using an equation containing the information necessary
to describe the denaturation process in detail. ESR and absorbance measurements have shown that structural changes of the
copper environment occur during the protein denaturation. In particular, the geometry of the copper-ligand atoms changes from
being tetrahedral to square planar and the disruption of the active site precedes the global protein denaturation. The thermodynamic
enthalpic change, the half-width transition temperature, and the value of ΔCp, were used to calculate the thermodynamic stability, ΔG, of the reversible process over the entire temperature range of denaturation. The low thermal stability found for plastocyanin,
is discussed in connection with structural factors stabilizing the native state of a protein.

- Interspecific competition (IC) is often seen as a main driver of evolutionary patterns and community structure. Bats might compete for key resources, and cases of exaggerated divergence of resource-related characters or trait overdispersion in bat assemblages are often explained in terms of current or past interspecific competition. However, other pressures leading to patterns that mimic the outcome of competition cannot always be ruled out.
- We present the state of knowledge on IC among bats, providing a critical evaluation of the information available and identifying open questions and challenges.
- We reviewed 100 documents addressing potential or actual IC in bats and categorised them in terms of the resource for which bats compete (food, foraging habitat, roosts, water, and acoustic space). We also examined the ecomorphological and behavioural traits considered therein to highlight responses to IC or niche partitioning.
- We found that: although resources should be limiting in order for competition to occur, this is seldom tested; sympatry is sometimes taken as synonymous of syntopy (yet sympatric species that are not syntopic will never experience competition); comparisons between sympatry and allopatry are rare; and testing of objective criteria exploring the existence of niche partitioning or character displacement is not commonly adopted.
- While morphological examination of food remains in droppings has often led to coarse-grained analysis that proved insufficient to establish the occurrence of food niche overlap or partitioning, new frontiers are being opened by state-of-the-art molecular dietary analysis.
- A better understanding of IC in bats is paramount, since distributional changes leading to novel bat assemblages driven by climate change are already taking place, and the dramatic decline in insect availability, as well as the global loss or alteration of foraging habitat, may generate new competitive interactions or exacerbate existing interactions in the Anthropocene, and into the future.

BackgroundChagas disease (CD) is a neglected disease that induces heart failure and arrhythmias in approximately 30% of patients during the chronic phase of the disease. Despite major efforts to understand the cellular pathophysiology of CD there are still relevant open questions to be addressed. In the present investigation we aimed to evaluate the contribution of the Na+/Ca2+ exchanger (NCX) in the electrical remodeling of isolated cardiomyocytes from an experimental murine model of chronic CD.Methodology/Principal findingsMale C57BL/6 mice were infected with Colombian strain of Trypanosoma cruzi. Experiments were conducted in isolated left ventricular cardiomyocytes from mice 180–200 days post-infection and with age-matched controls. Whole-cell patch-clamp technique was used to measure cellular excitability and Real-time PCR for parasite detection. In current-clamp experiments, we found that action potential (AP) repolarization was prolonged in cardiomyocytes from chagasic mice paced at 0.2 and 1 Hz. After-depolarizations, both subthreshold and with spontaneous APs events, were more evident in the chronic phase of experimental CD. In voltage-clamp experiments, pause-induced spontaneous activity with the presence of diastolic transient inward current was enhanced in chagasic cardiomyocytes. AP waveform disturbances and diastolic transient inward current were largely attenuated in chagasic cardiomyocytes exposed to Ni2+ or SEA0400.Conclusions/SignificanceThe present study is the first to describe NCX as a cellular arrhythmogenic substrate in chagasic cardiomyocytes. Our data suggest that NCX could be relevant to further understanding of arrhythmogenesis in the chronic phase of experimental CD and blocking NCX may be a new therapeutic strategy to treat arrhythmias in this condition. 相似文献
