A simple equipment was developed to cultivate young cereal plants under enhanced CO2 concentration. Cultivation system permits growing of about 40 barley seedlings for about 2 to 3 weeks. The system consists

Rates of chain elongation-desaturation of C16:0 were compared for liver and brain microsomes in fetal, neonatal and postnatal piglets. Rates of chain elongation of C16:0 were greatest in liver in the postnatal period. For all developmental periods examined, the amount of chain elongated fatty acid of C20 or greater chain length exceeded the amount of C18 precursors synthesized from C16:0. These observations suggest that chain elongation of fatty acids occurs during the latter part of gestation at rates equivalent to that observed in the early postnatal period. 相似文献

The effect of dietary lipid on the thermotropic properties of acetylcholinesterase activity was examined in rat synaptosomal membrane preparations after feeding diets containing soya-bean oil, sunflower oil or soya-bean phosphatidylcholine as the dietary fats. Arrhenius plots and energies of activation were altered by the duration of feeding as a function of time, as well as by the composition of diet fat fed. Animals fed sunflower oil had the highest maximal velocity for acetylcholinesterase activity. The observations of this study suggest that dietary fat is an important determinant of the physicokinetic properties of lipid-dependent functions in brain synaptosomal membranes. 相似文献

The rapidly evolving field of lipid absorption is reviewed with the thrust of new knowledge focused on the interpendency of the luminal and cellular phases of absorption. To date little attention has been paid to factors that regulate the phospholipid biosynthesis in the enterocyte. The availability of 20:4 omega 6 may be the rate-limiting factor for phospholipid synthesis. The source of 20:4 omega 6 is unknown, whether it be synthesized de novo the enterocyte or entirely originating from degradation of bile phospholipid. It has been established that dietary fat can modulate the enterocyte membrane lipid composition and transport properties. Specified fats such as as fish oils rich in 20:5 omega 3 and 22:6 omega 3 have been implicated as protective against hypercholesterolemia. However, the effects of these dietary fats on the transport of nutrients across the enterocyte are not yet known, nor are the mechanisms responsible for the adaptive responses of the brush border identified. 相似文献
