The aerial parts of the South African composite Printzia laxa contain two manoyl oxides and three clerodane derivatives together with two further acids, which belong to a new type of diterpene, biogenetically closely related to the clerodanes. The structures have been elucidated by spectroscopic methods. The constituents may indicate some relationship of Printzia to the tribe Astereae.  相似文献

The investigation of two species of Lasthenia afforded two new guaianolides and a new bisabolone derivative, in addition to already known compounds. Investigation of a further 27 Euryops species affords, besides known compounds, 55 new furanoeremophilanes together with several other compounds. The configuration of six furanoeremophilanes earlier given as 10β-H has to be changed to 10α-H. Furthermore 9 new eremophilenes were isolated; the configurations of four compounds of this type isolated before have had to be changed. One of the eremophilenes is esterified with 3-methylpent-3(E)-enoic acid, not found before in nature. Two hemiacetals, which are probable precursors of the furanoerephilanes, and a corresponding lactone are also present. Furthermore two benzylic esters, cis-caryophyllene, a bicyclo-germacrene derivative, and a new oplopanone derivative have been found. The structures are elucidated mainly by spectroscopic methods together with some chemical transformations. From the chemotaxonomic viewpoint, the high concentration of very variable furanoeremophilanes may be important. The proposed differentiation into sections however can not be clearly correlated with the chemical constituents, though some taxonomic conclusions seem to be supported by the chemical evidence.  相似文献

Summary The afferent connections of the paraventricular nucleus (PVN) of the domestic mallard (Pekin duck), Anas platyrhynchos, were demonstrated by means of microiontophoretic injection of horseradish peroxidase (HRP). To place the HRP injection exactly into the PVN, its location was identified prior to the injection by observing antidiuretic reactions to electrostimulations within the rostral hypothalamus of conscious, hydrated animals. Antidiuresis was induced only when electrostimulation was applied to a distinct hypothalamic area. Two different patterns of antidiuresis were observed: (i) an immediate reduction in rate of production of urine, and (ii) antidiuresis preceded by a period of increase in production of urine. Repeated stimulation of the same site with the same parameters resulted in decreasing antidiuretic effects. At the site where stimulation had elicited the most pronounced antidiuresis of either response type, HRP was injected microiontophoretically.Histological examination after 3–8 days of survival revealed delicate injection sites located exclusively in the periventricular portion of the PVN. Adjacent to the dorsal portion of the PVN retrogradely labeled tanycytes and intraependymal neurons were scattered in the ventricular wall. As demonstrated in neurohistological and electron-microscopic investigations, this ependymal region exhibits a particular arrangement of tanycytes and small neurons (10–15 m in diameter), some of which belong to the neurosecretory type.Additional HRP-labeled neuronal perikarya afferent to the PVN were demonstrated in the contralateral PVN, and on the ipsilateral side in the lateral septum, lateral hypothalamic area and locus coeruleus. Within the nuclei of the solitary tract, stained nerve cells were found ipsilateral as well as contralateral to the injection site.Several of the neurons demonstrated may be considered as candidates for the transmission of signals originating from various receptive structures relevant for the control of avian salt- and water-balance. The physiological results conform to the concept that neurons of the PVN influence urine formation by controlling the release of arginine-vasotocin (AVT). We present here a procedure for the rapid measurement of both DNA and protein from the same aliquot of cell lysate. DNA estimates obtained by this method were compared to replicate determinations using the method of Kissane and Robins (1). The optimal range for the estimation of DNA (1 to 20 μg) is well suited for use with portions of extracts from individual cell cultures; the remainder of the extract remains available for enzyme assays or other parallel determinations.  相似文献

The aerial parts of P. canadensis afforded a new germacran-8,12-olide and several diterpenic acids. The stereochemistry of the lactone could be established only by careful 1H NMR investigations of the corresponding pyrazolines formed by addition of diazomethane, while the natural compound and its acetate only show very uncharacteristic NMR spectra. The diterpenes all belong to the rare isokaurene type. The chemotaxonomic aspects are discussed briefly.  相似文献
