The present study examines the coexistence of neurons in the same cardiovascular point of the pontomedulla that integrates urinary bladder (UB) motility, and pelvic nerve activity (PNA). Microinjection of monosodium L-glutamate (Glu) into the locus coeruleus (LC), the gigantocellular tegmental field (FTG), the rostral ventrolateral medulla (RVLM), and the dorsomedial medulla (DM) produced pressor responses, whereas injection into the lateral tegmental field (FTL), the nucleus of tractus solitarii (NTS), and the caudal ventrolateral medulla (CVLM) produced depressor responses. However, microinjection of Glu into the dorsomotor nucleus of the vagus (DMV) and the ambiguus nucleus (AN), where the vagus nerve originates, produced marked bradycardia. Many of these cardiovascular responses were accompanied by increased, or decreased parasympathetic PNA. In six animals, sympathetic renal nerve activity (RNA) and PNA also increased simultaneously during the pressor response. The present study also examines the connection between the DMV-AN and the sacral intermediolateral column (IML), where parasympathetic preganglionic neurons (PGNs) of the pelvic nerve located. Biotinylated dextran amine (BDA), an anterograde tracer, was iontophoretically injected into the DMV or AN. No labelled terminal or neuron was detected in the sacral IML, but labelled terminals were observed in the bilateral LC, and also in the bilateral sides of the FTG, FTL, RVLM, DM, and CVLM. These results suggest that neurons of the DMV and/or AN may indirectly regulate the sacral parasympathetic PGNs through the LC for supraspinal control of the pelvic nerve. Furthermore, these results also suggest the coexistence of multiple autonomic integrating mechanisms of different kinds within various cardiovascular areas of the pontomedulla.  相似文献

A new lectin gene was cloned from Amorphophallus konjac. The full-length cDNA of Amorphophallus konjac agglutinin (aka) was 736 bp and contained a 474 bp open reading frame encoding a 158 amino acid protein. Homology analysis revealed that the lectin from this Araceae species belonged to the superfamily of monocot mannose-binding proteins. Molecular modeling of AKA indicated that the three-dimensional structure of AKA strongly resembles that of the snowdrop lectin. Southern blot analysis of the genomic DNA revealed that aka belonged to a low-copy gene family. Northern blot analysis demonstrated that aka expression was tissue-specific with the strongest expression being found in root.  相似文献

To establish an animal model of intracranial sparganosis, the fate and behavior of the experimentally inoculated spargana were observed. A total of 102 scolices of spargana were injected into 22 cat brains, and the cats were sacrificed at 2 weeks, 1 month, 3 months and 6 months after the inoculation. Neurosparganosis was established in 77% of the cats. Of 43 recovered worms, 19 (44%) were located in the subdural or subarachnoid space, 16 (37%) in the brain parenchyme, and 2 (5%) in the lateral ventricle. One was detected at the diploic space of the skull and 5 were outside the cranial cavity. All but one were alive, and had grown tails. They were distributed in the brain parenchyme randomly. There was no place which they could not invade. No adult was found in the intestine. Cerebrospinal fluid (CSF) was collected before inoculation, 1 week, 2 weeks, 1 month, 3 months and 6 months after inoculation. The level of anti-sparganum IgG antibody in CSF measured by ELISA began to increase above the criteria of positivity 1 month after inoculation. Three months after inoculation, the values markedly increased. The present findings reveal that intracranial inoculation of spargana into the brains of cats would be a good animal model of experimental neurosparganosis.  相似文献

IL-2 receptor alpha-deficient (IL2Ralpha-/-) mice spontaneously accumulate vast numbers of intestinal lamina propria (LP) T cells and develop bowel inflammation. The accumulation of T cells in IL2Ralpha-/- mice is thought to result, in part, from defective Fas-induced cell death. To understand the role of cell proliferation and death in regulating LP T cells in IL2Ralpha-/- mice, we have directly examined the proliferation and Fas sensitivity of wild-type, lpr/lpr, and IL2Ralpha-/- LP T cells. In wild-type mice, 5'-bromodeoxyuridine (BrdU) labeling and Fas susceptibility are greatest in CD44Hi LP T cells. Fas-deficient lpr/lpr mice have normal total numbers of LP T cells, despite an increased proportion of BrdU+ T cells. By contrast, IL2Ralpha-/- mice possess increased total numbers of LP T cells, despite normal proportions of BrdU+ LP T cells. Finally, wild-type and IL2Ralpha-/- LP T cells are equivalently Fas sensitive. These results demonstrate that LP T cells proliferate and are Fas-sensitive cells. IL2Ralpha-/- mice accumulate a large number of these Fas-sensitive LP T cells and clearly differ from Fas-deficient lpr/lpr mice in this regard. Thus our studies reveal that Fas is dispensable for LP T cell homeostasis and suggest that the intestinal inflammation observed in IL2Ralpha-/- mice is independent of defective Fas-induced cell death.  相似文献

To investigate the usage of blood componentsfor cardiac surgery inthe First Hospital of Lanzhou University, data from January 2014 to December 2016 were collected for analysis, including the number of cardiac surgeries and blood transfusions. There were 1 589 males and 1 076 females, aged from 1 to 73 years, with an average age of (53.97 ± 11.33) years, in this study. The results showed that the rate of blood-free surgery in the hospital increased year by year,while the proportion of blood-used operation to total operations decreased every year. The ratio of plasma and platelets used in cardiac surgery decreased, while the cryoprecipitate ratio used in cardiac surgery increased. This study indicates that the transfusion medical level in cardiac surgery is improved continuously, and that the infusion of blood components has become more secure, efficient and rational.  相似文献

Studies on Gymnophalloides seoi (Digenea: Gymnophallidae) and human infections are briefly reviewed. This minute intestinal fluke was first discovered from a Korean woman suffering from acute pancreatitis and gastrointestinal troubles. It was described as a new species by Lee, Chai and Hong in 1993. The southwestern coastal village where the patient resided was found to be a highly endemic area, and additional endemic areas have been identified. The parasite is very small, 0.33-0.50 mm long and 0.23-0.33 mm wide, and characterized by the presence of a ventral pit. The first intermediate host remains unknown, but the second intermediate host has been found to be the oyster Crassostrea gigas. Man and the Palearctic oystercatcher Haematopus ostralegus have been shown to be natural definitive hosts, and wading birds including the Kentish plover Charadrius alexandrinus are highly susceptible to experimental infection. Gerbils, hamsters, cats, and several strains of mice were also susceptible laboratory hosts. In experimentally infected mice, the parasites inhabit the small intestine, pinching and sucking the root of villi with their large oral suckers, but they did not invade beyond the mucosa in immunocompetent mice. However, they were found to invade the submucosa in immunosuppressed mice. Human G. seoi infections have been found in at least 25 localities; 23 islands on the Yellow Sea or the South Sea, and 2 western coastal villages. The highest prevalence was found in a village on Aphaedo, Shinan-gun (49% egg positive rate); other areas showed 0.8-25.3% prevalence. Infected people complained of variable degrees of gastrointestinal troubles and indigestion. The infection can be diagnosed by recovery of eggs in the feces; however, an expert is needed to identify the eggs. Praziquantel, 10 mg/kg in single dose, is effective for treatment of human infections. Eating raw oysters in endemic areas should be avoided.  相似文献

Reduction of (+)-and (−)-camphorquinones (1a, 1b) by various vegetables (carrot, potato, sweet potato, apple, Japanese radish, cucumber, burdock and onion) gave -hydroxycamphor selectively. Using burdock, (+)-camphorquinone was reduced to give (−)-3S-exo-hydroxycamphor (4a) as major product in high stereoselectivity with high yield. Moreover, 1,2-cyclohexanedione (1c) and 2-methylcyclohexanone (1d) with various vegetables afford enantiomerically pure trans- and/or cis-alcohol, respectively. Various vegetable reduction gave a new idea of a biotechnological process.  相似文献

Echinococcus granulosus, an intestinal tapeworm of dogs and other canids, infects humans in its larval stage and causes human echinococcosis or hydatid disease. In the Republic of Korea, 31 parasite-proven human echinococcosis cases have been reported, most of which were imported from the Middle East. We recently examined a 61-year-old Korean man who had a large cystic mass in his liver. ELISA was negative for tissue parasitic infections, including echinococcosis, cysticercosis, paragonimiasis, and sparganosis. The patient underwent surgery to remove the cyst, and the resected cyst was processed histopathologically for microscopic examinations. In sectioned cyst tissue, necrotizing protoscolices with disintegrated hooklets of E. granulosus were found. In some areas, only freed, fragmented hooklets were detected. The patient had traveled to western and central Europe in 1996, and had no other history of overseas travel. We report our patient as a hepatic echinococcosis case which was probably imported from Europe.  相似文献
