Background
Atopic dermatitis (AD) is known to predate asthma and other atopic disorders described under the term “atopic march”. However, this classic sequence is not always present and only a few studies have addressed children at risk of developing asthma. The objective of this study is to define early-onset AD phenotypes leading to asthma. Methods
We performed a cluster analysis with 9 variables of 214 infants with early-onset AD prospectively enrolled in the ORCA cohort and followed each year on the occurrence of asthma until the age of 6.Results
We identified 3 clusters - cluster 1 (n = 94) with low to no sensitization to food (27.7%) or aeroallergens (10.6%) and moderate AD severity (SCORAD 25.29 +/- 14.6) called “AD with low sensitization”; - cluster 2 (n = 84) characterized by a higher AD severity (SCORAD 32.66+/-16.6) and frequent sensitization to food (98.9%) or aeroallergens (26.2%), most likely multiple (96.4% for food allergens), called “AD with multiple sensitizations” - cluster 3 (n = 36) with parental history, moderate AD severity (SCORAD 24.46+/-15.7), moderate rate of sensitization to food allergens (38.9%) (exclusively single) with no sensitization to aeroallergens, called “AD with familial history of asthma”. Percentages of children suffering from asthma at the age of 6 were higher in clusters 2 and 3 (36.1% and 33.3% respectively versus 14.9% in cluster 1, p<0.01).Conclusion
Two phenotypes in infants with early-onset AD convey a higher risk of developing asthma during childhood: multiple sensitization and familial history of asthma. 相似文献82.

Formation of nacre (mother-of-pearl) is a biomineralization process of fundamental scientific as well as industrial importance. However, the dynamics of the formation process is still not understood. Here, we use scanning electron microscopy and high spatial resolution ion microprobe depth-profiling to image the full three-dimensional distribution of organic materials around individual tablets in the top-most layer of forming nacre in bivalves. Nacre formation proceeds by lateral, symmetric growth of individual tablets mediated by a growth-ring rich in organics, in which aragonite crystallizes from amorphous precursors. The pivotal role in nacre formation played by the growth-ring structure documented in this study adds further complexity to a highly dynamical biomineralization process. 相似文献

Introduction
Cardiovascular disease (CVD) is the leading cause of death in patients with inflammatory polyarthritis (IP), especially in seropositive disease. In established rheumatoid arthritis (RA), insulin resistance (IR) is increased and associated with CVD. We investigated factors associated with IR in an inception cohort of patients with early IP. 相似文献86.

From the antennae of the moth Mamestra brassicae, we have identified a lepidopteran G protein alpha subunit belonging to the Gq family, through immunological detection in crude antennal extract and antennal primary cell cultures, followed by molecular cloning. The complete cDNA sequence (1540 bp) contains an open reading frame encoding a protein of 353 amino acids. This deduced sequence possesses all of the characteristics of the Gq family and shares a very high degree of amino-acid sequence identity with vertebrate (80% with mouse or human Gqalpha) and invertebrate subunits (varying between 60 and 87% for Gqalpha from organisms as diverse as sponge and Drosophila). The expression pattern of the Gq subunit in adult antennae was associated with the olfactory sensilla suggesting a specific role in olfaction. These data provide molecular evidence for a component of the phosphoinositide signaling pathway in moth antennae: this G protein alpha subunit may be involved in the olfaction transduction process through interaction with G-protein-coupled receptors, stimulating the phospholipase C mediated second messenger pathway. 相似文献

Summary. Two glutamic acid analogs (1SR,3RS,4RS)- and (1SR,3SR,4SR)-1-amino-4-phosphono cyclopentane-1,3-dicarboxylic acids (APCPD) have been synthesized. Pure E-(diethoxy-phosphoryl)-acrylic
acid ethyl ester was obtained from ethyl propiolate, phenol and triethylphosphite. It was used as dienophile in a Diels-Alder
reaction. Oxidation and cyclization afforded 3-(ethoxy-carbonyl)-4-(diethoxy-phosphoryl)-cyclopentanone. Bucherer-Bergs reaction
and hydrolysis yielded APCPD-III and -IV which are inactive on mGlu1a receptor and antagonists on mGlu2 and mGlu8a receptors.
