Receptor activator of nuclear factor-kB ligand (RANKL), a well-known membrane-bound molecule expressed on osteoblasts and bone marrow stromal cells, is believed to induce osteoclast differentiation and activation by binding to the receptor activator of nuclear factor-kB (RANK), which is expressed on the surface of osteoclast lineage cells. This induction is inhibited by osteoprotegerin (OPG) that is secreted by osteoblast lineage and acts as a decoy receptor of RANKL. Currently the essential role of the OPG/RANKL/RANK system in the process of osteoclast maturation, as well as activation, has been well established, and the majority of bone resorption regulators control osteoclast formation and activation through their effects on this system and especially on the relative expression levels of RANKL and OPG [1].  相似文献

This study was performed to evaluate the epidemiological status of toxoplasmosis among the residents of Cheju island. The sera of local students from 18 high schools (boys 2110, girls 2460) and those of adults (474 admitted to Cheju Chungang General Hospital) were collected and checked for the IgG antibody titers against Toxoplasma gondii. Serum samples collected from both the students and adults showed sero-positive rate of 5.5% and 12.9%, respectively. Although the rates were not significantly different between the sexes (5.4% for the boys and 5.5% for the girls attending school), the geographical difference showed a significant difference between the urban (4.6-6.9%) and rural areas (5.6-8.8%) (p < 0.05). Based on the high positive rates, it should be necessary to control toxoplasmosis in Cheju island.  相似文献

MOTIVATION: BioPAX is a standard language for representing and exchanging models of biological processes at the molecular and cellular levels. It is widely used by different pathway databases and genomics data analysis software. Currently, the primary source of BioPAX data is direct exports from the curated pathway databases. It is still uncommon for wet-lab biologists to share and exchange pathway knowledge using BioPAX. Instead, pathways are usually represented as informal diagrams in the literature. In order to encourage formal representation of pathways, we describe a software package that allows users to create pathway diagrams using CellDesigner, a user-friendly graphical pathway-editing tool and save the pathway data in BioPAX Level 3 format. β-连环素(β-catenin)作为一种重要的信号转导分子和细胞间黏附分子,是近年来研究异常活跃的蛋白。多项研究结果显示β-连环素是Wnt信号转导通路的关键调控点并是构成粘附连接的E-cd/cat复合体的胞内重要组份,并通过与多种蛋白的结合参与肿瘤的发生发展、增殖分化、侵袭转移等生物学过程。本文阐述了β-cat基因、蛋白结构、表达调控、其降解与其丝/苏氨酸磷酸化的关系、及其在细胞内转运与APC基因的调控机制的联系、其出入细胞核及核内活化转录的分子机制、β-cat作为E-cd/cat复合体重要组分如何参与肿瘤浸润、转移过程;探讨了β-cat同时参与Wnt信号转导通路及E-cd/cat复合体构成的双重功能之间的辩证联系,对β-cat研究和应用前景提出了相应的设想和展望。  相似文献

地木耳提取物水溶液对花卉营养生长及开花的影响   总被引:1,自引:1,他引:1  
在温室条件下,用1%的地木耳提取物水溶液对瓜叶菊(Seneciocruentus)、万寿菊(Tageteserecta)、矮牵牛(Petuniahybrida)、香石竹(Dianthuscaryophyllus)、一品红(Euphorbiapulcherrima)、仙客来(Cyclamenpersium)、一串红(Salviasplendens)等7种花坛花进行叶面喷施后,结果表明,7种花的株高、冠径、株鲜重、叶片数目、叶长、根长比对照均有显著增加(P<0.05);万寿菊,矮牵牛,一品红,一串红的平均株干重有显著增加,而瓜叶菊,香石竹,仙客来的平均株干重增加不显著(P>0.05);除了香石竹的叶宽有显著增加外,其余6种花的叶宽对1%地木耳提取物水溶液的反应不敏感;而7种花卉的叶厚都没有显著的变化。提取物水溶液还可促进花提早开花,增加花数目,并延长花期。  相似文献

Lysobacter lactamgenus produces cephabacins, a class of beta-lactam antibiotics which have an oligopeptide moiety attached to the cephem ring at the C-3 position. The nonribosomal peptide synthetase (NRPS) system, which comprises four distinct modules, is required for the biosynthesis of this short oligopeptide, when one takes the chemical structure of these antibiotics into consideration. The cpbI gene, which has been identified in a region upstream of the pcbAB gene, encodes the NRPS - polyketide synthase hybrid complex, where NRPS is composed of three modules, while the cpbK gene -- which has been reported as being upstream of cpbI-- comprises a single NRPS module. An in silico protein analysis was able to partially reveal the specificity of each module. The four recombinant adenylation (A) domains from each NRPS module were heterologously expressed in Escherichia coli and purified. Biochemical data from ATP-PPi exchange assays indicated that L-arginine was an effective substrate for the A1 domain, while the A2, A3 and A4 domains activated L-alanine. These findings are in an agreement with the known chemical structure of cephabacins, as well as with the anticipated substrate specificity of the NRPS modules in CpbI and CpbK, which are involved in the assembly of the tetrapeptide at the C-3 position.  相似文献

Molecular mimicry and arthritogenic peptides form the basis of hypotheses that attempt to explain the pathogenesis of HLA-B27-positive ankylosing spondylitis (AS). We propose, therefore, that certain human viruses may possess peptide sequences that mimic HLA-B27-binding human ‘self’ peptides which might induce or play a significant role in AS. In the present study, we performed bioinformatic analysis, using BLASTP, of the human virus proteome and HLA-B27-binding human ‘self’ peptides including peptides derived from arthritogenic sequences. We identified that some HLA-B27-binding peptides, particularly those present in proteins of the cartilage and bone, are highly similar to those present in viruses known to cause chronic infection. We suggest that the identical short amino acid sequences shared between human viruses and HLA-B27 peptides may play a role in the pathogenesis of AS.  相似文献

This work examines the bioaccumulated organochlorine compounds in Muraena helena to draw attention to this species as a potential bioindicator organism. The morays were caught in the East Adriatic Sea, Elaphite Islands, near Dubrovnik, Croatia (lat: 42°45′38.8″; long: 17°45′53.6″) at the same location in summer (August, 2009) and winter (January, 2010), at depths from 5 to 10 m. Nine fish were caught by longline hooks per each field trip (total in summer and winter, N = 18). No single fish was free of organochlorines (OC), but not all pesticides were present in every fish. The concentration level was: Endrin > ppDDE > Heptachlor epoxide > Heptachlor > Aldrine > Lindane > βHCH > δHCH > Endrin aldehyde). Endrin was the only pesticide approaching the maximum concentrations proposed by the European Union and Croatia (summer max. concentration = 14.75 μg kg?1; winter max. concentration = 8.35 μg kg?1). All other pesticides ranged from 0.1 to 0.7 μg kg?1. Heptachlor was absent in winter and δ‐HCH and Endrin aldehyde in summer, while Lindane and pp‐DDE had higher (P ≤ 0.05) concentrations in summer. Other residues had similar seasonal concentration levels. The p‐DDT was similar as in other biota from the Adriatic or Mediterranean. HCH concentrations corresponded to those found in organisms from the Italian area of the Adriatic. The endocrine and reproductive disrupting potential of the detected OCs are bases for future studies. Results show that morays are a good bioindicator model, with slight interspecies and seasonal variability in OC bioaccumulation as a consequence of diverse food consumption.  相似文献

Burmite (Burmese amber) from the Hukawng Valley in northern Myanmar is a remarkable valuable and obviously the most important amber for studying terrestrial diversity in the mid-Cretaceous.The diversity of Burmite inclusions is very high and many new taxa were found,including new order,new family/subfamily,and new genus.Till the end of 2016,14 phyla,21 classes,65 orders,279 families,515 genera and 643 species of organisms are recorded,which are summized and complied in this catalogue.Among them,587 species are arthropods.In addtion,the specimens which can not be identified into species are also listed in the paper.The information on type specimens,other materials,host and deposition of types are provided.  相似文献
