Uredo behnickiana (syn. Hemileia americana and H. oncidii) is known on orchids of the genera Cattleya, Epidendrum, Laelia, Lophiaris and Oncidium. Previously, only the uredinial stages of these fungi have been described. The telial stage of the rust species was found
for the first time on Oncidium marshallianum. Because of a unique combination of morphological characters the fungus could not be assigned to Hemileia or any other known rust genus. Desmosorus is proposed, therefore, as a new genus with Desmosorus oncidii as the single known species. It was shown that the maximal degree of dissociation of cytochrome P-450 LM2 hexamers in the presence of the nonionic detergent Emulgene 913 (20 degrees C) is observed at the detergent concentration of about 0.2%. Using equilibrium centrifugation in solutions of different density, the molecular mass of the dissociation product minus that of the bound detergent was found to be equal to 50 +/- 8 kDa, thus corresponding to the molecular mass of the monomer. Glutaredoxins utilize the reducing power of glutathione to maintain and regulate the cellular redox state and redox-dependent signaling pathways, for instance, by catalyzing reversible protein S-glutathionylation. Due to the general importance of these processes, glutaredoxins have been implied in various physiological and disease-related conditions, such as immune defense, cardiac hypertrophy, hypoxia-reoxygenation insult, neurodegeneration and cancer development, progression as well as treatment. The past years have seen an impressive gain of knowledge regarding new glutaredoxin systems and functions. This is true both with respect to new functions in redox regulation and also with respect to unexpected new ties to iron metabolism and iron–sulfur cluster biosynthesis. Structural and dynamic properties of bovine pancreatic trypsin inhibitor (BPTI) in aqueous solution are investigated using two molecular dynamics (MD) simulations: one of 1.4 ns length and one of 0.8 ns length in which atom-atom distance bounds derived from NMR spectroscopy are included in the potential energy function to make the trajectory satisfy these experimental data more closely. The simulated properties of BPTI are compared with crystal and solution structures of BPTI, and found to be in agreement with the available experimental data. The best agreement with experiment was obtained when atom-atom distance restraints were applied in a time-averaged manner in the simulation. The polypeptide segments found to be most flexible in the MD simulations coincide closely with those showing differences between the crystal and solution structures of BPTI. © 1995 Wiley-Liss, Inc. 相似文献
