Defined as a blocked erection, longer than 4 hours, after an intracavernous injection of erectogenic drugs, the pharmacological prolonged erection (PPE) is the most frequent complication of this impotence treatment. The main risk of this priapic erection lies in the occurence of an acute ischemia of cavernous bodies. Although this risk is inconstant, any blocked erection must be treated before the 4th hour for avoiding any erectile tissue lesions. The indications of the various medical methods are dependent on the length of the PPE and/or intense physical effort, and/or penile freezing (using vapocoolant or ice application), must be always first used, owing to both their simplicity and efficiency when they are early made. These “little means” can also be easily teached to the patient using cavervous self-injection. In case of failure, another medical methods can be tried as cavernous decompressive puncture and/or, oral or mainly intracavernous pharmacological detumescence. In the absence of pain and hypertension or heart diseases, puncture of pharmacological detumescence can be equally used. If not, the cavernous puncture must be always first tried, combined with the study of cavernous blood gas. In the great majority of cases, this medical treatment is sufficient if early done. Its rare failures require a rapid surgical treatment, particularly in case of anoxic suffering. Presently, the PPE prevention is possible thanks to a better information of both patients and physicians using intracavernous injections, and also, to the recent use of less dangerous drugs.  相似文献

We study the influence of the individual behaviour of animals on predator-prey models. Populations of preys and predators are divided into sub-populations corresponding to different activity classes. The animals are assumed to do many activities all day long such as searching for food of different types. The preys are more vulnerable when doing some activities during which they are very exposed to predators attacks rather than for others during which they are hidden. We study activity sequences of the animals and also the effect of a change in the average individual behaviour of the animals on Lotka-Volterra prey-predator interactions. Numerical simulations are realized for the whole sets of equations (governing the subpopulations) and are compared to the simulations of the reduced sets of equation (governing the populations). We look for the validity of the method with respect to a scaling factor which measures the differences between the two time scales associated to the fast-varying variables and to the slow-time varying global variables. It is shown that when the two time scales differ of about two orders of magnitude, the approximation is satisfying.  相似文献

In Gregarina blaberae a Mr = 47 000 and a Mr = 260–240 000 doublet polypeptides reacted in immunoblotting: i) with a polyclonal monospecific rabbit antibody to frog muscular actin, a monoclonal anti-actin antibody against chicken gizzard; and ii) with polyclonal and monoclonal antibodies to human erythrocyte β-spectrin, respectively. The Mr = 47 000 actin-like protein is associated with the ghost and a contractille cytoplasmic extract. The presence of an actin-like protein in Gregarina and Lecudina and its cellular distribution in the cortex indicated that the gliding movement might involve an actin-myosin system in contrast to previous studies. Immunofluorescence showed clear differences between the anterior part of Gregarina and Lecudina which illustrated the high cell polarity of these protozoa. The Mr = 260–240 000 doublet was detected in SDS-PAGE from G. blaberae trophozoite ghosts but not in the cytoplasmic extracts or in extracts from sexual stages, indicating that the presence of these spectrin-like proteins is stage-dependent. Visualization of the Mr = 260–240 000 by immunofluorescence showed clear species differences, with rings arranged perpendicular to the longitudinal narrow folds of G. blaberae, with longitudinal lines underlying the folds of L. pellucida and with lines separating the large folds of Selenidium pendula. The cellular distribution is consistent with a stabilizer function of the spectrin-like proteins in the scaffolding of the cortex of gregarines according to the high diversity of the cell-shape and the cell motility systems in gregarines. The presence of spectrin-like proteins in protozoa and particularly in parasites from primitive arthropods indicated that ancestral spectrin genes could the Mr = 260–240 000 form.  相似文献

Mutual exclusion between congeneric species has been observed such as the case of the grey and red squirrels in Great Britain and the case of the twoHippolais warbler speciesHippolais icterina andH. polyglotta in Europe. This process can lead to the formation of an extinction wave which propagates. Two main assumptions are tested, competition and selective predation. The aim of this work is to present spatial models of these two processes. The animals of two species are assumed to move on a two dimensional array of spatial patches with local interactions of competition or of selective predation between them. We focus on the case of mutual exclusion. Initially, the two competing species occupy complementary areas in an array of spatial patches with a small common zone. Numerical simulations show that under particular conditions, one species gets extinct and the other invades the whole set of spatial patches. These simulations show that with time, the length of the overlapping zone stabilizes and moves at a constant velocity. The limit length of the overlapping band and the velocity of the extinction wave are found to be functions of the parameters of the models. We relate this general model to the case of two sibling species of birds:H. icterina andH. polyglotta.  相似文献

One of the first symptoms expressed by declining trees is reduced growth in stem diameter and length increment. The possibility of a relationship between length increment and crown thinning in beech (Fagus sylvatica L.) was investigated by developing a computer model to simulate first order branching patterns of the apical 2 m of monopodially branching beech trees, 70–100 years old, for a range of length increment rates. The model was based on values for branching angle, main axis and branch length increment, number of branches produced per year and branch mortality rates for six healthy and declining trees. Shoot growth rates in the apical 2 m of the sample trees ranged from about 5 cm/year (decline class 3) to 43 cm/ year (healthy). Simulations of branching patterns in the apical 2 m of trees growing at different rates indicated that, when growth rate exceeded about 20 cm/year, total first order branch length and area explored were independent of growth rate. When growth rates fell below this value there was a reduction in total area explored and first order branch length due primarily to the formation of fewer branches. More acute branching angles contributed to a reduction in the area explored. Growth rate-related crown thinning could increase the risk of bark necrosis and secondary pathogen infection during dry and/or hot spells.  相似文献
