In this paper, we report the spontaneous formation of fibrous structures consisting of assemblies of Au–Ag core-shell nanoparticles
(NPs) from a solution consisting of Au–Ag core-shell NPs and l-ascorbic acid (AA). AA acted both as the reducing agent for the generation of NPs and also as the mediator for the formation
of fibers. The process of fiber formation involved three steps—reduction of HAuCl4 to Au NPs by AA, subsequent formation of Au–Ag core-shell NPs after addition of AgNO3, and spontaneous formation of fibers from the mixtures in water. It took typically about 30 days to form complete fibers
that are of lengths of several hundred micrometers to millimeters, although nanofibers started forming from the first day
of solution preparation. The width of each of these fibers was typically about 1–4 μm with length of each segment of fiber
bundle, on the order of 40 μm. Formation of fibers was also observed in absence of AgNO3. These fibers consisted of Au NPs and polymer of AA degradation products and were not electrically conducting. Also, low
concentrations of AgNO3 produced fibers with low electrical conductivity. However, it was observed that increase in the amount of AgNO3 leads to the formation of fibers that were electrically conducting with conductivity values in the range of metallic conductivity.
Spectroscopic and electron microscopic investigations were carried out to establish the formation of fibers. The details of

Propargyl glyco 1,2-orthoesters were exploited for the efficient synthesis of interesting glycomonomers such as glyco-acrylates and acrylamides using gold catalysts. It was observed that propargyl glyco 1,2-orthoesters with hydroxyethyl acrylates gives very good yield of the corresponding glyco-acrylates in a single step in the presence of catalytic amount of gold(III) catalyst; whereas, gold catalyzed glycosidation reaction on hydroxyethyl acrylamides was found to yield the corresponding acrylamidoyl 1,2-orthoester which was then converted to the corresponding glycol-acrylamide in the presence of catalytic amount of TMSOTf. A water-soluble polysaccharide was isolated from the aqueous extract of the fruit bodies of somatic hybrid PCH9FB, obtained through intergeneric protoplast fusion between the strains Pleurotus florida and Calocybe indica var. On the basis of total acid hydrolysis, the polysaccharide was found to contain galactose, fucose, and glucose in a molar ratio of nearly 2:1:2. Carcinogenicity is one of the toxicological endpoints causing the highest concern. Also, the standard bioassays in rodents used to assess the carcinogenic potential of chemicals and drugs are extremely long, costly and require the sacrifice of large numbers of animals. For these reasons, we have attempted development of a global quantitative structure-activity relationship (QSAR) model using a data set of 1464 compounds (the Galvez data set available from http://www.uv.es/-galvez/tablevi.pdf), including many marketed drugs for their carcinogenesis potential. Though experimental toxicity testing using animal models is unavoidable for new drug candidates at an advanced stage of drug development, yet the developed global QSAR model can in silico predict the carcinogenicity of new drug compounds to provide a tool for initial screening of new drug candidate molecules with reduced number of animal testing, money and time. Considering large number of data points with diverse structural features used for model development (n(training) = 732) and model validation (n(test) = 732), the model developed in this study has an encouraging statistical quality (leave-one-out Q2 = 0.731, R2pred = 0.716). Our developed model suggests that higher lipophilicity values and conjugated ring systems, thioketo and nitro groups contribute positively towards drug carcinogenicity. On the contrary, tertiary and secondary nitrogens, phenolic, enolic and carboxylic OH fragments and presence of three-membered rings reduce the carcinogenicity. Branching, size and shape are found to be crucial factors for drug-induced carcinogenicity. One may consider all these points to reduce carcinogenic potential of the molecules. 相似文献

This paper focuses on the study of a nonlinear mathematical SIR epidemic model with a vaccination program. We have discussed the existence and the stability of both the disease free and endemic equilibrium. Vaccine induced reproduction number is determined and the impact of vaccination in reducing the vaccine induced reproduction number is discussed. Then to achieve control of the disease, a control problem is formulated and it is shown that an optimal control exists for our model. Regulation of tau exon 10 splicing plays an important role in tauopathy. One of the cis elements regulating tau alternative splicing is a stem-loop structure at the 5' splice site of tau exon 10. The RNA helicase(s) modulating this stem-loop structure was unknown. We searched for splicing regulators interacting with this stem-loop region using an RNA affinity pulldown-coupled mass spectrometry approach and identified DDX5/RNA helicase p68 as an activator of tau exon 10 splicing. The activity of p68 in stimulating tau exon 10 inclusion is dependent on RBM4, an intronic splicing activator. RNase H cleavage and U1 protection assays suggest that p68 promotes conformational change of the stem-loop structure, thereby increasing the access of U1snRNP to the 5' splice site of tau exon 10. This study reports the first RNA helicase interacting with a stem-loop structure at the splice site and regulating alternative splicing in a helicase-dependent manner. Our work uncovers a previously unknown function of p68 in regulating tau exon 10 splicing. Furthermore, our experiments reveal functional interaction between two splicing activators for tau exon 10, p68 binding at the stem-loop region and RBM4 interacting with the intronic splicing enhancer region. 相似文献

The stinging catfish Heteropneustes fossilis (Bloch) (Siluriformes: Heteropneustidae) has been reported to harbor as many as 19 species of caryophyllidean tapeworms (Cestoda) of 11 genera in tropical Asia (Indomalayan zoogeographical region). However, a critical review of the species composition has shown that only 1 species, Lucknowia fossilisi Gupta, 1961 (Lytocestidae), is a specific parasite of H. fossilis. Three other species, Djombangia penetrans Bovien, 1926 (syn., Djombangia caballeroi Sahay and Sahay, 1977 ), Pseudocaryophyllaeus ritai Gupta and Singh, 1983 (syn. Pseudocaryophyllaeus lucknowensis Gupta and Sinha, 1984 ), and Pseudocaryophyllaeus tenuicollis (Bovien, 1926) Ash, Scholz, Oros and Kar, 2011 (syn. P. mackiewiczi Gupta and Parmar, 1982 ), were found only once. Lucknowia fossilisi is redescribed on the basis of new material collected in West Bengal and voucher specimens from Maharashtra, India. A total of 9 species of Capingentoides, Lucknowia, Lytocestus, Pseudoadenoscolex, Pseudocaryophyllaeus, Pseudoheteroinverta, and Sukhapatae are newly synonymized with L. fossilisi and previous synonymies of 9 other species, proposed by Hafeezulah (1993), are confirmed. Generic diagnosis of Lucknowia Gupta, 1961 is amended. In addition, 1 species of Pseudobatrachus and 2 species of the monotypic genera Pseudoneckinverta and Sudhaena are invalidated as nomina nuda. 相似文献
