采用关联指数(IC)和决定系数(CD)两种方法,度量混合线性模型遗传评估下 猪群体间的遗传关联性。结果表明,加拿大安大略省的大约克夏猪、长白猪、杜洛克猪和汉普夏猪4个主要品种群体间具有良好的遗传联系。CD法既组合了数据结构和信息量,又考虑了预测误差方差和遗传变异性,是一个选择判断遗传评估精度的好方法。 Abstract:Two criteria for the measures of genetic connectedness in mixed linear model of genetic evaluation are used:the degree of connectedness(IC)and the generalized coefficient of determination(CD).The results indicated that the data of four dominant swine breeds:Yorkshire,Landrace,Duroc and Hampshire in Ontario,Canada are well connected.The CD,which combines data structure and amount of information and also accounts for both prediction error variance and genetic variability,is a good method to select for judging the precision of a genetic evaluation.  相似文献

Lately the mechanism of craving for alcohol has been related to the local level of brain acetaldehyde occurring in ethanol consumption and depending on the activities of the brain and liver ethanol and acetaldehyde-metabolizing systems. In this connection, we studied the effect of chronic acetaldehyde intoxication on the activities of alcohol dehydrogenase (ADH), aldehyde dehydrogenase (ALDH), the microsomal ethanol oxidizing system (MEOS) and liver and brain catalase as well as ethanol and acetaldehyde levels in the blood. The results showed that the chronic acetaldehyde intoxication did not alter significantly the activities of liver ADH, MEOS and catalase as well as liver and brain ALDH. In parallel with this, the systemic acetaldehyde administration led to shortened time of ethanol narcosis and activation of catalase in the cerebellum and left hemisphere, which may indicate involvement of this enzyme into metabolic tolerance development.  相似文献

Background  

Transmissible spongiform encephalopathy diseases are untreatable, uniformly fatal degenerative syndromes of the central nervous system that can be transmitted both within as well as between species. The bovine spongiform encephalopathy (BSE) epidemic and the emergence of a new human variant of Creutzfeldt-Jakob disease (vCJD), have profoundly influenced beef production processes as well as blood donation and surgical procedures. Simple, robust and cost effective diagnostic screening and surveillance tools are needed for both the preclinical and clinical stages of TSE disease in order to minimize both the economic costs and zoonotic risk of BSE and to further reduce the risk of secondary vCJD.  相似文献

The shoulder is one of the anatomic regions differentiating orthograde primates (gibbons, orangutans, gorillas, chimpanzees, bonobos, and humans) from the rest of the pronograde primates. Orthograde primates are characterized by a dorsal position of the scapula and a more lateral orientation of the glenoid cavity. This anatomic pattern, together with adaptations in related osteological structures and muscles, serves to facilitate the elevation of the upper extremity in the scapular plane. We quantified the proportions of the muscles comprising the principal functional and stabilizing components of the glenohumeral joint —deltoid, subscapularis, supraspinatus, infraspinatus, and teres minor— in 3 species of orthograde primates: Pongo pygmaeus, Pan troglodytes, and Homo sapiens. Our objective was to determine whether quantifiable differences in these muscles relate to the functional requirements of the types of locomotion used by these 3 species: suspension/vertical climbing, knuckle-walking, and bipedalism. We observed a close similarity between the proportional mass of these muscles in Homo sapiens and Pongo pygmaeus, whereas Pan troglodytes displayed a unique anatomic pattern, particularly in the subscapularis, which may be due to differences in how the glenohumeral joint is stabilized in a great ape knuckle-walker. Our findings may help explain the high incidence of subacromial impingement syndrome in humans.  相似文献

Characteristics of 13 newly isolated thermophilic, anaerobic, and cellulolytic strains were compared with previously described strains of Clostridium thermocellum: ATCC 27405 and JW20 (ATCC 31549). Colony morphology, antibiotic sensitivity, fermentation end-products, and cellulose degradation were documented. All 13 strains were sensitive to erythromycin (5 μg/ml) and chloramphenicol (25 μg/ml), and all strains but one were sensitive to kanamycin (20 μg/ml). Polymerase chain reaction (PCR) amplification using primers based on gene sequences from C. thermocellum ATCC 27405 was successful for all 13 strains in the case of the hydrogenase gene and 11 strains in the case of phosphotransacetylase/acetate kinase genes. Ten strains amplified a product of the expected size with primers developed to be specific for C. thermocellum 16SrRNA primers. Two of the 13 strains did not amplify any product with the PCR primers designed for the phosphotransacetylase/acetate kinase and 16SrRNA primers. A MboI-like GATC- recognizing restriction activity was present in all of the five strains examined. The results of this study have several positive implications with respect to future development of a transformation system for cellulolytic thermophiles. The meta-cleavage pathway of Pseudomonas putida mt-2 was simulated using a biochemical systems simulation developed by Regan (1996). A non-competitive inhibition term for catechol-2,3-dioxygenase (C23O) by 2-OH-pent-2,4-dienoate (Ki = 150 μM) was incorporated into the model. The simulation predicted steady state accumulation levels in the μM range for metabolites pre-meta-cleavage, and in the mM range for metabolites post-meta-cleavage. The logarithmic gains L[V-i, Xj] and L[X-i, Xj] clearly indicated that the pathway was most sensitive to the concentration of the starting substrate, benzoate, and the first enzyme of the pathway, toluate-1, 2-dioxygenase (TO). The simulation was validated experimentally; it was found that the amplification of TO increased the steady state flux from 0.024 to 0.091 (mmol/g cell dwt)/h. This resulted in an increased accumulation of a number of the pathway metabolites (intra- and extracellularly), especially cis-diol, 4-OH-2-oxovalerate, and 4-oxalocrotonate. Metabolic control analysis indicated that C23O was, in fact, the major controling enzymic step of the pathway with a scaled control coefficient of 0.83. The amplification of TO resulted in a shift of some of the control away from C23O. Catechol-2,3-dioxygenase, however, remained as the major controling element of the pathway.
