The structure of the c-myc oncogene in 17 cervical tumors and patient-matched nontumor tissues from Chinese patients residing in Taiwan was analysed. In contrast to recent reports on Mexican patients, none of the samples showed rearrangements and sequence amplification in the c-myc gene. The discrepancy may be explained by different carcinogenesis mechanisms being in operation in different geographic regions. Although no structural alterations in the c-myc gene were found in seven cervical carcinoma cell lines analysed, Northern blot analysis indicated different levels of c-myc gene expression which may be related to the presence of human papillomavirus (HPV) sequence in the cell and suggests a possible c-myc-hpv interaction in some stages of the transformation process.  相似文献

Summary Hydrogen is consumed by methanogenic, sulphate-reducing, and homoacetogenic bacteria and members of these bacterial groups are able to grow chemolithotrophically with hydrogen as sole energy source. Cathodic hydrogen consumption by sulphate-reducing bacteria has been proposed as one of the factors in the anaerobic corrosion of metals. Desulfovibrio spp. were able to utilize cathodic hydrogen from mild steel as the only source of energy for growth with sulphate or nitrate as terminal electron acceptor. Other hydrogen-oxidizing bacteria such as Methanospirillum hungatei, Acetobacterium woodii and Wolinella succinogenes were also able to utilize cathodic hydrogen from mild steel for energy generation and growth. Weight loss studies of mild steel coupons under different growth conditions of Desulfovibrio spp. indicated that hydrogen removal alone is not the cause of corrosion and the depolarization phenomenon probably plays a role only in the initiation of the anaerobic microbial corrosion process.  相似文献

Dependence of hypoxic changes of macro- and microcirculation on the activity of adrenergic receptors in the cooled organism was studied on decentralized shank of cat under perfusion with constant blood flow. After cooling of cat (to 30 degrees C) and blockade of alpha-adrenoreceptors hypoxic hypoxia (10% O2 in N2) caused (a) much greater reduction of precapillary resistance of shank, (b) more striking (by 3 times) increase of capillary filtration coefficient and (c) the increase of capillary pressure and postcapillary resistance in contrast to their decrease to hypoxia under hypothermia before alpha-blockade. Beta-adrenoreceptor blockade had no influence on the changes of the resistance and exchange function of skeletal muscle blood vessels evoked by hypoxia under cooling.  相似文献

1. Soleus, extensor digitorum longus (EDL) or hemi-diaphragm muscles of the rat were incubated in the presence of insulin and rates of the processes of glycolysis and glycogen synthesis were measured. 2. The concentrations of insulin required to cause half-maximal stimulation of glycolysis in both soleus and EDL preparations were significantly decreased by the presence of adenosine deaminase in the medium. 3. Adenosine deaminase increased the sensitivity of the process of hexose transport to insulin (in an identical manner to the change in sensitivity of glycolysis) in the EDL preparation. 4. None of the adenosine mediated effects on insulin-stimulated rates of glycolysis were observed in the hemi-diaphragm preparation or on the rates of glycogen synthesis in any of the three muscle preparations. 5. Therefore, changes in the adenosine system in skeletal muscle influence insulin sensitivity regardless of fibre type composition of the muscle.  相似文献

Transmucosal transport rates for triolein in proximal and distal intestine were compared in unanesthetized rats. Emulsified [1-14-C] triolein together with bile and pancreatic juice from donor rats was infused for 6 hr into either the duodenum or the midpoint of the small intestine at such a rate that absorption was essentially complete in both regions of the intestine. Lymph was collected from the thoracic duct during triolein infusion and for an additional 6-hr period. The decrease in the rate of lymphatic output of labeled fat was found to follow a simple exponential function in all animals. This rate of decrease (decay rate) was used to calculate the half-times of lipid turnover through the intestinal wall and the fractional output rates. Distal intestine transported lipid 40% more slowly than proximal intestine, and the difference was associated with a greater accumulation of triglyceride in the distal intestinal wall. Chylomicron synthesis and/or release is the rate-limiting step for distal lymphatic fat transport in vivo, whereas fat uptake from the lumen is rate limiting for proximal intestine.  相似文献
