The inheritance of antigens expressed by C3H/Tif B cells that stimulate MHC-unrestricted helper T cells from C3H/HeJ was investigated. F1 hybrids between C3H/HeJ and C3H/Tif and 39 C3H/HeJ X F1 backcross mice were characterized as to the ability of their spleen cells to stimulate a proliferative C3H/HeJ T helper cell response and to respond to helper cell activity by the development of polyclonal plaque-forming cell responses. Backcross progeny wee also typed for the following markers segregating in this cross: 1) Responsiveness to the B cell mitogen lipopolysaccharide (LPS); 2) LyM-1 allotype; 3) antigen(s) stimulating a primary non-H-2 MLR between these strains, previously ascribed to Mls locus differences, 4) expression of target antigens for cytotoxic T cells raised in the same strain combination. The antigen(s) recognized by helper cells and those stimulating primary MLR are controlled by autosomal gene(s) and segregate as a single trait. These antigens, however, are not encoded in genes linked to either the Lps or the Mls loci, and are not recognized by cytotoxic T cells raised in the same strain combination. 相似文献

Dieses Extra-CO2 stammt nicht aus einer früheren Phase partieller Anaerobiose, muß also während des Versuches gebildet werden. Längere Abschnitte liefern weniger Extra-CO2, als ihrem Anteil embryonaler Gewebe entspricht. Neben einer Steigerung der Gärung durch die Präparation, besonders in den jüngst ausgewachsenen Partien, ist aus dem Gaswechsel auf einen Austausch von Intermediärprodukten zu schließen, deren weitere Verarbeitung zu dem nahezu ausgeglichenen Gaswechsel längerer Wurzelspitzen führen dürfte. Die CO2-Produktion sinkt, während der Versuchszeit ganz erheblich ab, die Ausscheidung von Extra-CO2 mit ähnlicher Geschwindigkeit auch in Proben verschiedener Ausgangslänge. The heat resistance of dry bacterial spores was tested in various gases at temperatures ranging from 121.1 to 160 C (250 to 320 F). Spores of Clostridium sporogenes (PA 3679) were heated in air, carbon dioxide, and helium; spores of Bacillus subtilis 5230 were heated in these gases and also in oxygen and in nitrogen. The surrounding gas influenced the heat resistance, but the differences among gases were small. D values were about 7 min at 148.9 C (300 F); z values were about 18.3 C (33 F) for B. subtilis, and about 21.7 C (39 F) for C. sporogenes. The resistance of B. subtilis in carbon dioxide was about the same as in air, but lower than in all other gases; resistance in helium and nitrogen was about the same, and was higher than in all other gases. C. sporogenes had the least resistance in air; the resistance was about the same in carbon dioxide and helium. For B. subtilis, the gases in order of increasing heat resistance were carbon dioxide, air, oxygen, helium, and nitrogen, and for C. sporogenes, air, carbon dioxide, and helium. Neither oxygen content nor molecular weight of the gas appeared to have a marked influence on dry-heat resistance of the spores, whereas the more inert gases seemed to yield larger D values. 相似文献

Hyperstimulation with cholecystokinin analogue cerulein induces a mild edematous pancreatitis in rats. There is evidence for a diminished energy metabolism of acinar cells in this experimental model. The aim of this study was to demonstrate permeability transition of the mitochondrial inner membrane as an early change in mitochondrial function and morphology. As functional parameters, the respiration and membrane potential of mitochondria isolated from control and cerulein-treated animals were measured, and changes in volume and morphology were investigated by swelling experiments and electron microscopy. Five hours after the first injection of cerulein, the leak respiration was nearly doubled and the resting membrane potential was decreased by about 17 mV. These alterations were reversed by extramitochondrial ADP or did not occur when cyclosporin A was added to the mitochondrial incubation. A considerable portion of the mitochondria isolated from cerulein-treated animals was swollen and showed dramatic changes in morphology such as a wrinkled outer membrane and the loss of a distinct cristae structure. These data provide evidence for the opening of the mitochondrial permeability transition pore at an early stage of cerulein induced pancreatitis. This suggests that the permeability transition is an initiating event for lysis of individual mitochondria and the initiation of apoptosis and/or necrosis, as had been shown to occur in this experimental model. 相似文献
