Occurrence of Cladocera (Crustacea) in subterranean waters in Yugoslavia   总被引:4,自引:4,他引:0  
Contrary to some localities in France and Spain, Cladocera occur in hypogean waters in Yugoslavia very sporadically. Beside the stygobitic species, Alona hercegovinae from caves and Alona smirnovi from interstitial waters, particularly some other Chydoridae seem to be suited for hypogean life. Chydorus sphaericus, reputed as one of the most euryoecious cladocerans, occurs also the deepest in interstitial waters as well as in caves. Other species, found in hypogean waters are Simocephalus vetulus, Ilyocryptus sordidus, Eurycercus lamellatus, Chydorus ovalis, Leydigia leydigi, Acroperus harpae and Biapertura affnis.  相似文献

Porosity, Eh and interstitital nitrogen compounds profiles are given for four locations in the eastern Skagerrak. Sediments down to 30 cm depth, i.e. postindustrial in age, were analysed. The results together with a detailed age determination (210Pb) suggest a high degree of both lateral and vertical variability as a result of local bottom topography and currents as well as event-controlled sedimentation processes.  相似文献

A unique rat cellular gene, c-mos(rat), homologous to the transforming sequences, v-mos, of Moloney murine sarcoma virus (M-MSV) was detected by hybridization to a v-mos specific probe. The c-mos(rat) gene was cloned together with its flanking sequences in an 11-kbp EcoRI DNA fragment inserted in vector Charon 4A. Two probes were used to investigate the position and orientation of c-mos(rat) in the clone examined ( D3e ), namely pMSV -31 which contains the sequences specific for the transforming sequences of M-MSV and pCS-1 which harbors 0.5 kbp of 5'-terminal sequences of c-mos(mouse) as well as 0.7 kbp of its flanking sequences. After ligation of a restriction fragment of clone D3e containing c-mos(rat) to a fragment containing the long terminal repeat of M-MSV and transfection of the DNA onto rat cells, we detected foci of transformed cells, thus showing that c-mos(rat) is biologically active. Using DNA framents derived from clone D3e , we studied the conservation of c-mos and of its flanking sequences in several species. c-mos(rat) as well as some of its flanking sequences appeared to be highly conserved in the species studied.  相似文献

Summary The effect of changing the composition of a chemically defined medium on citric acid production by Aspergillus niger was investigated. High and reproducible amounts of citric acid were obtained with deionized commercial sugar solutions, proper phosphate concentrations, low initial pH values and suitable amounts of copper as growth inhibiting agent.Comparison of high and low yielding process parameters showed that under high yielding conditions, (deionized sugar, Cu++ addition) besides more citric acid, less mycelium and less mycelial lipids were formed; the consumption of sugar, nitrogen and phosphorus was related to the amount of biomass.Partly presented at the XII. Summary We examined the parietal eye visual system of the iguanid lizard Uta stansburiana for the presence of substance P-like immunoreactivity by use of both immunofluorescence and peroxidase-antiperoxidase techniques. In the parietal eye no substance P-containing somata were found; however, its plexiform layer contained small (ca. 1 m diam) immunoreactive fibers. These fibers apparently originate outside the parietal eye. Immunoreactive fibers also were found in the parietal nerve, the dorsal sac, and the leptomeninx of the pineal gland. No labeled somata were observed in any of these regions in either normal or colchicine treated animals. Previously we demonstrated that a system of centrifugal fibers to the parietal eye originates from neurons in the dorsal sac (Engbretson et al. 1981). The apparent absence of substance P-containing neurons in the dorsal sac suggests that the substance P-containing fibers in the parietal eye are not the previously observed centrifugal fibers. The source of the substance P-containing fibers in the parietal eye is unknown. The pars dorsolateralis of the left medial habenular nucleus receives a dense substance P-positive projection. No such projection was seen in the right habenula. Simultaneous visualization of the terminals of ganglion cells of the parietal eye (labeled with orthograde intraaxonally transported horseradish peroxidase) and substance P-like immunofluorescence showed that the locus of habenular immunoreactivity is distinct from the projection field of the parietal eye. Thus the substance P-positive terminals in the habenula do not originate in the parietal eye. Transection of the parietal nerve confirmed this conclusion.  相似文献

Characterization of endogenous ecotropic Akv proviruses in DNA of low and high leukemic mouse strains revealed the presence of one to six copies of the Akv genome per haploid genome equivalent integrated in the germ line. Low leukemic strains analyzed so far contained only one complete copy of the Akv proviral DNA. The site of integration varied among strains, although genetically related strains often carried the Akv proviral gene in the same chromosomal site. The different substrains of the AKR mouse displayed the presence of variable numbers (two to six) of Akv genomes. In all substrains one Akv genome was present in an identical chromosomal site; this locus probably comprised the progenitor genome. Closely related substrains had several Akv proviral DNAs integrated in common sites. The accumulation of Akv genomes in the germ line of the AKR/FuRdA strain is likely the result of independent integration events, since backcross studies with the Akv-negative 129 strain showed random segregation of all six proviral loci. The AKR/Cnb strain carried a recombinant provirus in the germ line. This provirus resembled in structure the AKR mink cell focus-forming viruses, which are generated by somatic recombination during leukemogenesis. Therefore, the germ-line amplification of Akv proviral DNAs occurs most likely through infection of embryonic cells by circulating virus.  相似文献

The left 45% of the adeno-associated virus 2 genome was sequenced. The 5' termini of two adeno-associated virus-specific RNAs were mapped at the nucleotide level within this region of the genome (nucleotides 286 to 288 and 871 to 874). Both of these 5' termini map 31 +/- 2 nucleotides downstream from the start of "TATA' boxes.  相似文献

Nicolaia elatior is used as an example to demonstrate that the mucronate tepals ofZingiberaceae correspond to hypsophylls (bracts) consisting of a leaf sheath and a rudimentary Oberblatt (= leaf petiole + lamina) represented by the mucro. Evidence for this interpretation is furnished by all available criteria: leaf sequence (exhibiting a complete continuum of forms from foliage leaves over cata- and hypsophylls to the tepals), nervature, and ontogeny.The present conception is compared with the well-founded thesis ofLeinfellner that the perigone ofLiliaceae is derived from the androecium. The different morphological status of the perigone in both families is not regarded as the result of different phylogenetic origin, but as a manifestation of morphogenetic transgressions from one phyllome category to an adjacent one: In theLiliaceae the perigone is under a strong morphogenetic influence of the androecium, and therefore displays staminal characters, in theZingiberaceae it is under the dominating influence of the extrafloral region, and thus appears as a hypsophyllous structure. If this assumption of a morphologically oscillating perigone is correct, it will be fundamentally impossible to demonstrate unequivocally the phylogenetic origin of the monocotyledonous perigone.

Irradiation of the kinetochore region of PtK2 chromosomes by laser light of 532 nm was used to study the function of the kinetochore region in chromosome movement and to create artificial micronuclei in cells. When the sister kinetochores of a chromosome were irradiated at prometaphase, the affected chromosome detached from the spindle and exhibited no further directed movements for the duration of mitosis. The chromatids of the chromosome remained attached to one another until anaphase, at which point they separated. No poleward movement of the chromatids was observed, and at telophase they passively moved to one of the daughter cells and were enclosed in a micronucleus. The daughter cell containing the micronucleus was then isolated by micromanipulation and followed through subsequent mitoses. At the next mitosis, two chromosomes, each with two chromatids, condensed in the micronucleus. These chromosomes did not attach to the spindle and showed chromatid separation, but no poleward movements at anaphase. They were again enclosed in micronuclei at telophase. The third generation mitosis was similar to the second. Occasionally, both the irradiation-produced and naturally occurring micronuclei exhibited no chromosome condensation at mitosis. Feulgenstained monolayers of PtK2 cells with naturally occurring micronuclei showed that some micronuclei stain positive for DNA and others do not. This finding raises questions about the fate of chromosomes in a micronucleus.  相似文献

A procedure has been developed for the isolation of a P700-chlorophyll-protein complex from a blue-green alga by a nondetergent method. The use of a Sepharose 4B column in conjunction with sucrose density-gradient centrifugation allows the separation of this complex from three other chlorophyll a-containing fractions which have higher ratios of carotenoids to chlorophyll a. Isoelectric focusing results in a single band with an isoelectric point at 4.5. Analysis of the major (green) fraction reveals the presence of P700. The absorption and emission spectra of this complex are reported.  相似文献
