Introduction Episodes of agitation and affective disorders following stroke are important complications which may delay rehabilitation. Case report We report a case of affective disorder and episodes of agitation after a partial stroke of the left media artery with residual aphasia. These episodes were eventually accompanied by loss of conscience and had different causes. After treatment with mirtazapine and valproate symptoms improved significantly. Conclusion Episodes of agitation may be related to different origins. A careful differential diagnosis is necessary. 相似文献

Autologous cell-based therapies promise important developments for reconstructive surgery. In vitro expansion as well as differentiation strategies could provide a substantial benefit to cellular therapies. Human dermal fibroblasts, considered ubiquitous connective tissue cells, can be coaxed towards different cellular fates, are readily available and may altogether be a suitable cell source for tissue engineering strategies. Global gene expression analysis was performed to investigate the changes of the fibroblast phenotype after four-week inductions toward adipocytic, osteoblastic and chondrocytic lineages. Differential gene regulation, interpreted through Gene Set Enrichment Analysis, highlight important similarities and differences of induced fibroblasts compared to control cultures of human fibroblasts, adipocytes, osteoblasts and articular chondrocytes. Fibroblasts show an inherent degree of phenotype plasticity that can be controlled to obtain cells supportive of multiple tissue types. 相似文献

Topoisomerase IIα is an essential enzyme that resolves topological constraints in genomic DNA. It functions in disentangling intertwined chromosomes during anaphase leading to chromosome segregation thus preserving genomic stability. Here we describe a previously unrecognized mechanism regulating topoisomerase IIα activity that is dependent on the F-box protein Fbxo28. We find that Fbxo28, an evolutionarily conserved protein, is required for proper mitotic progression. Interfering with Fbxo28 function leads to a delay in metaphase-to-anaphase progression resulting in mitotic defects as lagging chromosomes, multipolar spindles and multinucleation. Furthermore, we find that Fbxo28 interacts and colocalizes with topoisomerase IIα throughout the cell cycle. Depletion of Fbxo28 results in an increase in topoisomerase IIα?dependent DNA decatenation activity. Interestingly, blocking the interaction between Fbxo28 and topoisomerase IIα also results in multinucleated cells. Our findings suggest that Fbxo28 regulates topoisomerase IIα decatenation activity and plays an important role in maintaining genomic stability. 相似文献

Postnatal growth in mouse is rapid, with total skeletal muscle mass increasing several-fold in the first few weeks. Muscle growth can be achieved by either an increase in muscle fibre number or an increase in the size of individual myofibres, or a combination of both. To examine whether trajectories of participation in organized activities during the high school years and beyond (from ages 14 to 20) predicted outcomes at age 21 (externalizing problems, internalizing problems, civic engagement, number of years of education, and perception of physical health), 354 youths (60% girls) were surveyed annually over nine years. Four trajectories were found: (a) “Low and decreasing” (71%), (b) “Moderate and stable” (12%), (c) “High and decreasing after high school” (12%), and (d) “High and increasing after high school” (5%). Results revealed that the predicted outcomes varied according to the different trajectories. Pursuing high levels of activity participation beyond high school was especially beneficial with respect to externalizing problems and educational attainment. 相似文献
