Premature ovarian failure (POF) usually happens former to the age of 40 and affects the female physiological state premenopausal period. In this condition, ovaries stop working long before the expected menopausal time. Of diagnostic symptoms of the disease, one can mention amenorrhea and hypoestrogenism. The cause of POF in most cases is idiopathic; however, cancer therapy may also cause POF. Commonly utilized therapies such as hormone therapy, in-vitro activation, and regenerative medicine are the most well-known treatments for POF. Hence, these therapies may be associated with some complications. The aim of the present study is to discuss the beneficial effects of tissue engineering for fertility rehabilitation in patients with POF as a newly emerging therapy. 相似文献
Ribosomal RNA genes have long been a favoured locus in phylogenetic and metabarcoding studies. Within a genome, rRNA loci are organized as tandem repeated arrays and the copies are homogenized through the process of concerted evolution. However, some level of rRNA variation (intragenomic polymorphism) is known to persist and be maintained in the genomes of many species. In nematode worms, the extent of rRNA polymorphism (RP) across species and the evolutionary and life history factors that contribute to the maintenance of intragenomic RP is largely unknown. Here, we present an extensive analysis across 30 terrestrial nematode species representing a range of free‐living and parasitic taxa isolated worldwide. Our results indicate that RP is common and widespread, ribosome function appears to be maintained despite mutational changes, and intragenomic variants are stable in the genome and neutrally evolving. However, levels of variation were varied widely across rRNA locus and species, with some taxa observed to lack RP entirely. Higher levels of RP were significantly correlated with shorter generation time and high reproductive rates, and population‐level factors may play a role in the geographic and phylogenetic structuring of rRNA variants observed in genera such as Rotylenchulus and Pratylenchus. Although RP did not dramatically impact the clustering and recovery of taxa in mock metabarcoding analyses, the present study has significant implications for global biodiversity estimates of nematode species derived from environmental rRNA amplicon studies, as well as our understanding of the evolutionary and ecological factors shaping genetic diversity across the nematode Tree of Life. 相似文献
In this study, the effectiveness of PASylation in enhancing the potency and plasma half‐life of pharmaceutical proteins has been accredited as an alternative technique to the conventional methods such as PEGylation. Proline, alanine, and serine (PAS) chain has shown some advantages including biodegradability improvement and plasma half‐life enhancement while lacking immunogenicity or toxicity. Although some experimental studies have been performed to find the mechanism behind PASylation, the detailed mechanism of PAS effects on the pharmaceutical proteins has remained obscure, especially at the molecular level. In this study, the interaction of interferon α‐2a (IFN) and PAS chain is investigated using molecular dynamics simulation method. Several important parameters including secondary structure, root‐mean‐square distance, and solvent accessible surface area to investigate the stability, bioavailability, and bioactivity of the PASylated protein are studied. The results demonstrate that IFN conformation is not affected critically through PASylation while it results in improvement of the protein stability and bioactivity. Therefore, PASylation can be considered as a proper biological alternative technique to increase the plasma half‐life of the biopharmaceutical proteins through enlarging apparent volume. The proposed simulation represents a computational approach that would provide a basis for the study of PASylated pharmaceutical proteins for different future applications. 相似文献

Targeting oxidative stress and inflammation by novel dietary compounds of natural origin convincingly appears to be one of the most important therapeutic strategies to keep inflammatory bowel diseases (IBD) such as ulcerative colitis disease in remission. It is imperative to investigate naturally occuring plant-derived dietary phytochemicals that are receiving attention for their therapeutic benefits to overcome the debilitating conditions of IBD. In the present study, the effect of nerolidol (NRD), a monocyclic sesquiterpene found in German Chamomile tea, was investigated in acetic acid-induced colitis model in Wistar rats. NRD was orally administered at a dose of 50 mg/kg/day either for 3 days before or 30 min after induction of IBD for 7 days, after intrarectal administration of acetic acid. The body weight, macroscopic, and microscopic analyses of the colon in different experimental groups were observed on days 0, 2, 4, and 7. Acetic acid caused significant reduction in body weight and induced macroscopic and microscopic ulcer along with a significant decline of antioxidants, concomitant to increased malondialdehyde (MDA), a marker of lipid peroxidation, and myeloperoxidase (MPO) activity, a marker of neutrophil activation. Treatment with NRD significantly improved IBD-induced reduction in body weight, improved histology, inhibited MDA formation, and restored antioxidants along with reduced MPO activity. Acetic acid also induced the release of pro-inflammatory cytokines and increased calprotectin, released by neutrophils under inflammatory conditions. NRD treatment significantly reduced calprotectin and pro-inflammatory cytokines. NRD treatment showed potential to improve disease activity and inhibit oxidative stress, lipid peroxidation, and inflammation along with histological preservation of the colon tissues.
BackgroundMovements in the lumbar spine, including flexion and extension are governed by a complex neuromuscular system involving both active and passive units. Several biomechanical and clinical studies have shown the myoelectric activity reduction of the lumbar extensor muscles (flexion–relaxation phenomenon) during lumbar flexion from the upright standing posture. The relationship between flexibility and EMG activity pattern of the erector spinae during dynamic trunk flexion–extension task has not yet been completely discovered.ObjectiveThe purpose of this study was to investigate the relationship between general and lumbar spine flexibility and EMG activity pattern of the erector spinae during the trunk flexion–extension task.MethodsThirty healthy female college students were recruited in this study. General and lumbar spine flexibilities were measured by toe-touch and modified schober tests, respectively. During trunk flexion–extension, the surface electromyography (EMG) from the lumbar erector spinae muscles as well as flexion angles of the trunk, hip, lumbar spine and lumbar curvature were simultaneously recorded using a digital camera. The angle at which muscle activity diminished during flexion and initiated during extension was determined and subjected to linear regression analysis to detect the relationship between flexibility and EMG activity pattern of the erector spinae during trunk flexion–extension.ResultsDuring flexion, the erector spinae muscles in individuals with higher toe-touch scores were relaxed in larger trunk and hip angles and reactivated earlier during extension according to these angles (P < 0.001) while in individuals with higher modified schober scores this muscle group was relaxed later and reactivated sooner in accordance with lumbar angle and curvature (P < 0.05). Toe-touch test were significantly correlated with trunk and hip angles while modified schober test showed a significant correlation with lumbar angle and curvature variables.ConclusionThe findings of this study indicate that flexibility plays an important role in trunk muscular recruitment pattern and the strategy of the CNS to provide stability. The results reinforce the possible role of flexibility alterations as a contributing factor to the motor control impairments. This study also shows that flexibility changes behavior is not unique among different regions of the body. 相似文献
