An attractive method to broaden the absorption bandwidth of polymer/fullerene‐based bulk heterojunction (BHJ) solar cells is to blend near infrared (near‐IR) sensitizers into the host system. Axial substitution of silicon phthalocyanines (Pcs) opens a possibility to modify the chemical, thermodynamic, electronic, and optical properties. Different axial substitutions are already designed to modify the thermodynamic properties of Pcs, but the impact of extending the π‐conjugation of the axial ligand on the opto‐electronic properties, as a function of the length of the alkyl spacer, has not been investigated yet. For this purpose, a novel series of pyrene‐substituted silicon phthalocyanines (SiPc‐Pys) with varying lengths of alkyl chain tethers are synthesized. The UV–vis and external quantum efficiency (EQE) results exhibit an efficient near IR sensitization up to 800 nm, clearly establishing the impact of the pyrene substitution. This yields an increase of over 20% in the short circuit current density (J SC) and over 50% in the power conversion efficiency (PCE) for the dye‐sensitized ternary device. Charge generation, transport properties, and microstructure are studied using different advanced technologies. Remarkably, these results provide guidance for the diverse and judicious selection of dye sensitizers to overcome the absorption limitation and achieve high efficiency ternary solar cells. 相似文献

Two series of novel coumarin derivatives, substituted at 3 and 7 positions with aminoalkoxy groups, are synthesized, characterized, and screened. The effect of amine substituents and the length of cross‐linker are investigated in acetyl‐ and butyrylcholinesterase (AChE and BuChE) inhibition. Target compounds show moderate to potent inhibitory activities against AChE and BuChE. 3‐(3,4‐Dichlorophenyl)‐7‐[4‐(diethylamino)butoxy]‐2H‐chromen‐2‐one ( 4y ) is identified as the most potent compound against AChE (IC50=0.27 μm ). Kinetic and molecular modeling studies affirmed that compound 4y works in a mixed‐type way and interacts simultaneously with the catalytic active site (CAS) and peripheral anionic site (PAS) of AChE. In addition, compound 4y blocks β‐amyloid (Aβ) self‐aggregation with a ratio of 44.11 % at 100 μm and significantly protects PC12 cells from H2O2‐damage in a dose‐dependent manner. 相似文献

A systematic study on the effect of various cathode buffer layers on the performance and stability of solution‐processed small‐molecule organic solar cells (SMOSCs) based on tris{4‐[5‐(1,1‐dicyanobut‐1‐en‐2‐yl)‐2,2‐bithiophen‐5‐yl]phenyl}amine (N(Ph‐2T‐DCN‐Et)3):6,6‐phenyl‐C71‐butyric acid methyl ester (N(Ph‐2T‐DCN‐Et)3:PC70BM) is presented. The power conversion efficiency (PCE) in these systems can be significantly improved from approximately 4% to 5.16% by inserting a metal oxide (ZnO) layer between the active layer and the Al cathode instead of an air‐sensitive Ba or Ca layer. However, the low work‐function Al cathode is susceptible to chemical oxidation in the atmosphere. Here, an amine group functionalized fullerene complex (DMAPA‐C60) is inserted as a cathode buffer layer to successfully modify the interface towards ZnO/Ag and active layer/Ag functionality. For devices with ZnO/DMAPA‐C60/Ag and DMAPA‐C60/Ag cathodes the PCEs are improved from 2.75% to 4.31% and to 5.40%, respectively, compared to a ZnO/Ag device. Recombination mechanisms and stability aspects of devices with various cathodes are also investigated. The significant improvement in device performance and stability and the simplicity of fabrication by solution processing suggest this DMAPA‐C60‐based interface as a promising and practical pathway for developing efficient, stable, and roll‐to‐roll processable SMOSCs. 相似文献

Photovoltaic tandem technology has the potential to boost the power conversion efficiency of organic photovoltaic devices. Here, a reliable and efficient fully solution‐processed intermediate layer (IML) consisting of ZnO and neutralized poly(3,4‐ethylenedioxythiophene):poly(styrenesulfonate) (PEDOT:PSS) is demonstrated for series‐connected multi‐junction organic solar cells (OSCs). Drying at 80 °C in air is sufficient for this solution‐processed IML to obtain excellent functionality and reliability, which allow the use of most of high performance donor materials in the tandem structure. An open circuit voltage (Voc) of 0.56 V is obtained for single‐junction OSCs based on a low band‐gap polymer, while multi‐junction OSCs based on the same absorber material deliver promising fill factor values along with fully additive Voc as the number of junctions increase. Optical and electrical simulations, which are reliable and promising guidelines for the design and investigation of multi‐junction OSCs, are discussed. The outcome of optical and electrical simulations is in excellent agreement with the experimental data, indicating the outstanding efficiency and functionality of this solution‐processed IML. The demonstration of this efficient, solution‐processed IML represents a convenient way for facilitating fabrication of multi‐junction OSCs to achieve high power conversion efficiency. 相似文献

Aims: This study aimed to analyse the diversity of the vanB gene cluster in enterococcal species isolated from sewage treatment plants (STP) in Tehran, Iran.
Methods and Results: The enterococcal isolates were collected from three sewage treatment plants in Tehran, Iran, during 2005. A total of 203 enterococcal isolates, collected over six rounds of sampling from three STPs were tested for the presence of vanB gene. Long-PCR showed that amongst the isolates, three Enterococcus faecium , one Enterococcus gallinarum and one Enterococcus casseliflavus harboured the complete vanB gene cluster.
Restriction fragment length polymorphism (RFLP) of the vanB1 gene cluster (5900 bp) from the isolates showed an identical pattern to a standard strain of Enterococcus faecalis (V583). None of the isolates were able to transfer the vanB gene in conjugation experiments. Different pulsed-field gel electrophoresis patterns were obtained for the three E. faecium isolates with vanB gene clusters .
Conclusions: Our results indicated that the dissemination of vanB is not widespread in Tehran. Although only a few vanB positive isolates were detected, vanB was found in several enterococcal species.
Significance and Impact of the study: In view of the lack of information on vanB resistance genes and their diversity in Iran, knowledge of the global dissemination of vanB genes in Enterococcus spp. is noteworthy. 相似文献

Helicobacter pylori is a Gram-negative spiral bacterium that colonizes human gastric mucosa causing infection. In this study aiming at inhibition of H. pylori infection we made an attempt to evaluate immunogenicity of the total (UreC) and C-terminal (UreCc) fragments of H. pylori urease. Total UreC and its C-terminal fragment were expressed in E. coli. Recombinant proteins were analyzed by SDS-PAGE and western blot and then purified by Ni-NTA affinity chromatography. Female C57BL6/j mice were immunized with the purified proteins (UreC and UreCc). Antibody titers from isolated sera were measured by ELISA. Immunized mice were then challenged by oral gavage with live H. pylori Sydney strain SS1. Total of 109 CFU were inoculated into stomach of immunized and unimmunized healthy mice three times each at one day interval. Eight weeks after the last inoculation, the blood sample was collected and the serum antibody titer was estimated by ELISA. Stomach tissues from control and experimental animal groups were studied histopathologically. UreC and UreCc yielded recombinant proteins of 61 and 31 kDa respectively. ELIZA confirmed establishment of immunity and the antibodies produced thereby efficiently recognized H. pylori and inhibited its colonization in vivo. Pathological analysis did not reveal established infection in immunized mice challenged with H. pylori. The results support the idea that UreC and UreCc specific antibodies contribute to protection against H. pylori infections. 相似文献

Filled skutterudite compound PrFe4P12 is studied using the full potential linear muffin-tin orbital method with the local density approximation for the exchange correlation potential to investigate the systematic trends for structural and elastic properties of the cubic PrFe4P12 skutterudite. The calculated ground state quantities such as the lattice constant and internal free parameters are in fairly good agreement with the available experimental data. The elastic constants and their pressure dependence are obtained by calculating the total energy versus volume-conserving strains using the Mehl model. Pressure and temperature effects on the lattice constant, bulk modulus, thermal expansion coefficient, Debye temperature and heat capacity are obtained in the range of 0–30 GPa and 0–1000 K. Reduction of bulk modulus and Debye temperature with temperature essentially indicates the thermal softening of the rare earth-filled skutterudites lattice. 相似文献

This study tested effects of maternal body size on foraging behavior and progeny development in a thelytokous population of Lysiphlebus fabarum (Marshall) (Hymenoptera: Braconidae). Small and large wasps were reared from first and second instar hosts [black bean aphid, Aphis fabae Scopoli (Hemiptera: Aphididae)], respectively, and each was provided with a patch (bean leaf disk) containing either 15 small (second instar) or 15 large (fourth instar) hosts for a 30‐min foraging period. Neither body size nor host size affected time allocation to various behaviors within a patch, but second instar aphids produced significantly more mummies than fourth instars. The preferred attack orientation was from the side of the aphid, suggesting wasps were sensitive to the risk of smearing with cornicle secretions. Few wasps developed in fourth instar hosts, suggesting later host instars were somewhat resistant to parasitism. Second instar hosts, the most suitable stage for L. fabarum development, relied more on defensive behavior, specifically kicking and secreting cornicle droplets. Large wasps were more likely to elicit a double cornicle secretion, indicating that aphids graded their response to the size of the attacker. Larger wasps were also more likely to be smeared with cornicle secretion, suggesting they were more vulnerable than small wasps. Although small wasps had smaller eggs than large wasps, there was no effect of maternal egg size on the size of progeny. However, daughters of small females emerged with larger egg loads than daughters of large mothers, and their eggs tended to be slightly smaller, although not significantly. Regression analysis revealed a positive correlation between maternal egg size and progeny developmental time for small and large wasps, and between maternal egg size and progeny egg load for small wasps. These results confirm maternal effects of body size in an aphid parasitoid, and reveal that vulnerability to host behavioral defenses is also body size dependent. 相似文献
