Lithium salts with low coordinating anions such as bis(trifluoromethanesulfonyl)imide (TFSI) have been the state-of-the-art for polyethylene oxide (PEO)-based “dry” polymer electrolytes for 3 decades. Plasticizing PEO with TFSI-based ionic liquids (ILs) to form ternary solid polymer electrolytes (TSPEs) increases conductivity and Li+ diffusivity. However, the Li+ transport mechanism is unaffected compared to their “dry” counterparts and is essentially coupled to the dynamics of the polymer host matrix, which limits Li+ transport improvement. Thus, a paradigm shift is hereby suggested: the utilization of more coordinating anions such as trifluoromethanesulfonyl-N-cyanoamide (TFSAM), able to compete with PEO for Li+ solvation, to accelerate the Li+ transport and reach a higher Li+ transference number. The Li–TFSAM interaction in binary and ternary TFSAM-based electrolytes is probed by experimental methods and discussed in the context of recent computational results. In PEO-based TSPEs, TFSAM drastically accelerates the Li+ transport (increases Li+ transference number by a factor 6 and the Li+ conductivity by 2–3) and computer simulations reveal that lithium dynamics are effectively re-coupled from polymer to anion dynamics. Last, this concept of coordinating anions in TSPEs is successfully applied in LFP||Li metal cells leading to enhanced capacity retention (86% after 300 cycles) and an improved rate performance at 2C.  相似文献

BackgroundObesity is responsible for high morbidity and mortality, both in developed and developing countries. It is associated with many chronic and metabolic diseases. Asymmetric dimethylarginine (ADMA) has been demonstrated to be a biomarker of endothelial dysfunction in humans and increased ADMA associated with cardiovascular disease (CVD) risk has been reported in many states. Neopterin (NP) produced by monocytes/macrophages in response to stimulation by interferon-gamma (IFN-γ) is emphasized in recent findings. The current study aims to investigate ADMA and NP levels which may assume a role in guiding the early diagnosis of coronary artery disease in obesity.MethodsThis is an original research study in which ADMA and NP levels of 50 patients (25 male/25 female) diagnosed with obesity were compared with those of 30 healthy individuals (15 male/15 female) as control. The high-performance liquid chromatography (HPLC) method was used while determining parameters.ResultsADMA and NP levels in obese individuals were found to be significantly higher than in those enrolled in the control. ADMA values were found to be higher in obese subjects (0.71±0.24 μmol/L) as compared with levels found in healthy subjects (0.58±0.16 μmol/L) (p<0.05). A significant increase of serum neopterin levels was found in obese subjects (8.8±3.5 μmol/L) as compared with controls (4.9±1.69 μmol/L) (p<0.05). Also, there was a strong positive correlation between NP and ADMA values in obese individuals (r=0.954).ConclusionsOur study revealed that obese subjects have higher ADMA and neopterin levels. These results demonstrated that both ADMA and NP levels may be potential risk factors for coronary heart disease in obesity.  相似文献

Alloteuthis is a group of small, slender loliginid squids of minor fisheries importance. There are three nominal Alloteuthis species—A. media (Linnaeus), A. subulata (Lamarck) and A. africana Adam. Two of these species (A. media and A. subulata) have largely overlapping ranges in the Mediterranean and northeastern Atlantic, while A. africana is found along the west coast of Africa. Despite the low level of species diversity, Alloteuthis taxonomy and systematics are confused, and assignment of specimens to species can be difficult. To clarify Alloteuthis systematics, we gathered morphometric data and DNA sequence data from two mitochondrial loci and a nuclear locus from Alloteuthis specimens collected from several localities. Analyses of the morphometric data suggest that head width is the main variable allowing separation of A. africana from the other two species, and central club sucker size separates A. media from A. subulata. One easily diagnosable character often used to distinguish Alloteuthis species—relative fin length—appears to be of little taxonomic value. Only three specimens assignable to A. subulata both morphologically and genetically were found, all from the Adriatic; possible reasons for this apparent rarity are discussed. Gene tree parsimony and coalescent-based methods were used to estimate species relationships from the molecular data, and both supported a sister-species relationship between A. media and A. subulata. Analyses of molecular variation (AMOVA's) revealed significant genetic differentiation between Atlantic and Mediterranean A. media. This study highlights the importance of 1) sampling multiple individuals, locations and loci for species-level phylogenetic studies, 2) using morphometric analyses to reveal taxonomically meaningful morphological characters and 3) accounting for the stochastic nature of the coalescent process when estimating species phylogenies for closely related taxa.  相似文献

AimsConsidering the implications that arose from several recent experimental studies using recombinant human erythropoietin in rodents, erythropoietin has been regarded as a pharmacological preconditioning agent. The purpose of the present study was to evaluate whether erythropoietin has a preconditioning effect against ischemia and reperfusion injury in the small intestine of the rat.Main methodsIntestinal ischemia was induced in male Wistar rats by clamping the superior mesenteric artery for 30 min, followed by reperfusion for 180 min. Recombinant human erythropoietin (1000 or 3000 U/kg) or vehicle was administered intraperitoneally 24 h prior to ischemia. After collection of ileal tissue, evaluation of damage was based on measurements of the accumulation of polymorphonuclear neutrophils by technetium-99m-labeled leukocyte uptake, content of malondialdehyde, reduced glutathione, contractile responses to agonists, and an evaluation of histopathological features in intestinal tissue.Key findingsTreatment with erythropoietin 24 h before ischemia significantly reduced the tissue content of malondialdehyde and increased that of reduced glutathione. Pretreatment also significantly suppressed leukocyte infiltration into the postischemic tissue, as evidenced by the lower content of myeloperoxidase and technetium-99m-labeled leukocytes. Physiological and histopathological improvements were also significant with the rHuEpo treatment.SignificanceResults of the present study indicate that rHuEpo is an effective preconditioning agent in ischemic injury of the small intestine. Protection provided by recombinant human erythropoietin is closely related to the inhibition of oxidative stress and leukocyte infiltration, which might be among the possible protective mechanisms of erythropoietin in intestinal ischemia and reperfusion.  相似文献
