Reaction of the oxo-molybdenum(V) precursor [MoTp*(O)Cl2] [Tp* = hydrotris(3,5-dimethyl-1-pyrazolyl)borate] with H2NC6H4R-4 (R = OEt; OPr) in refluxing toluene in the presence of Et3N afforded the binuclear oxo-bridged oxo(arylimido) molybdenum(V) complexes [Tp*Mo(O)Cl](μ-O)[Tp*Mo(NC6H4OR-4)Cl]. Surprisingly, a similar reaction between [MoTp*(O)Cl2] and C6H5NH2 yielded the previously reported compound [{MoTp*(O)Cl}2(μ-O)] as the only product. The new compounds were characterized by microanalytical data, mass spectrometry, IR and 1H NMR spectroscopy. Cyclic voltammetric studies of the new compounds, of the previously reported compounds [Tp*Mo(O)Cl](μ-O)[Tp*Mo(NAr)Cl] (Ar = C6H4OMe-4, C6H4F-3, C6H4Cl-4, C6H4Br-4, and C6H4I-3), and of [{MoTp*(O)Cl}2(μ-O)] revealed a reversible one-electron oxidation process that is little affected by the nature of the substituent on the aryl group, whereas it is greatly affected by replacement of the imido ligand with an oxo ligand. The [{MoTp*(O)Cl}2(μ-O)] compound also shows a one-electron reduction process. 相似文献

Knowledge of the protonation constants of small dipeptide is important, interesting and necessary for complete understanding
of the physiochemical behavior of dipeptide. In this study, the protonation constants of some aliphatic dipeptides (Gly–Gly, Gly–Val, Gly–Leu, Gly–Thr, Gly–Phe and Gly–Met) were studied in water and ethanol–water mixtures [20% ethanol–80% water, 40% ethanol–60% water, 60% ethanol–40% water, (v/v)]
at 25 ± 0.1°C under nitrogen atmosphere and ionic strength at 0.10 mol dm−3 by potentiometry. The constants of the systems were calculated by using BEST computer program, and distribution species diagrams
were produced using the SPE computer program. The protonation constants were influenced by changes in solvent composition,
and their variations were discussed in terms of solvent and structural properties. The concentration distribution of the various
species in ethanol–water mixtures was evaluated. 相似文献
Changes in the osmolality of the extracellular medium (ECM) affect cell volume and cellular processes such as cell migration and proliferation. Not only may high concentrations of zinc (Zn) lead to cell death by apoptosis, but Zn is also a physiological suppressor of apoptosis. The aim of our study was to examine whether Zn and regulation of extracellular osmolality had an effect on the lung cancer cell line (A549) and how to be changed in ECM according to elements and osmolality depending on incubation time and Zn application. Our study consisted of four groups: cell-free medium, ECM of cancer cell after 24 h incubation (24hECM), ECM of cancer cell after 48 h incubation (48hECM), and ECM of cancer cell after 48 h incubation with ZnCl2 (48hECM?+?Zn). ECM osmolality was measured by using osmometer, and the levels of chromium (Cr), iron (Fe), and magnesium (Mg) elements were analyzed using ICP-OES device for all groups. According to the result of the analysis, a statistically significant difference was found when osmolality and element values of ECM of 24hECM and 48hECM groups were compared with the values of the 48hECM?+?Zn group. It was observed that there was a decrease in the levels of Cr, Fe, and Mg with Zn application and incubation period in ECM. The regulation of ECM osmolality is a promising method due to biophysical effects on cancer cells. In our study, we speculated that the understanding of the effects of Zn and osmolality with the relationship between ECM and cancer cell might lead to the discovery of biophysical approaches as a novel therapeutic strategy.
Blood-brain barrier (BBB) leakage plays a role in the pathogenesis of many pathological states of the brain including ischemia and some neurodegenerative disorders. In recent years, erythropoietin (EPO) has been shown to exert neuroprotection in many pathological conditions including ischemia in the brain. This study aimed to investigate the effects of EPO on BBB integrity, infarct size and lipid peroxidation following global brain ischemia/reperfusion in rats. Wistar male rats were divided into four groups (each group n=8); Group I; control group (sham-operated), Group II; ischemia/reperfusion group, Group III; EPO treated group (24 h before decapitation--000 U/kg r-Hu EPO i.p.), Group IV; EPO+ ischemia/reperfusion group (24 h before ischemia/reperfusion--3000 U/kg r-Hu EPO i.p.). Global brain ischemia was produced by the combination of bilateral common carotid arteries occlusion and hemorrhagic hypotension. Macroscopical and spectrophotometrical measurement of Evans Blue (EB) leakage was observed for BBB integrity. Infarct size was calculated based on 2,3,5-triphenyltetrazolium chloride (TTC) staining. Lipid peroxidation in the brain tissue was determined as the concentration of thiobarbituric acid-reactive substances (TBARS) for each group. Ischemic insult caused bilateral and regional BBB breakdown (hippocampus, cortex, corpus striatum, midbrain, brain stem and thalamus). EPO pretreatment reduced BBB disruption, infarct size and lipid peroxide levels in brain tissue with 20 min ischemia and 20 min reperfusion. These results suggest that EPO plays an important role in protecting against brain ischemia/reperfusion through inhibiting lipid peroxidation and decreasing BBB disruption. 相似文献
This study investigates the myosin heavy chain (MyHC) isoform composition in the gluteus medius muscle of the Akhal-Teke horses using SDS-PAGE (sodium dodecyl sulfate polyacrylamide gel electrophoresis). Fifteen horses aged between 1.5 and 23.5 years were used in this study and divided into three age groups: 1.5 to 4 (n = 6), 9 to 13 (n = 5) and 18.5 to 23.5 years (n = 4). The average content of the MyHC I isoform was 11.72 ± 1.07% (variation between individuals: 7.09% to 20.14%). The relative content of the MyHC IIa and IIx isoforms was subsequently 38.20 ± 1.46% (30.73% to 48.78%) and 50.07 ± 1.10% (43.8% to 56.78%) from the total MyHC. The MyHC pattern in the skeletal muscles of the Akhal-Teke horses shows that the muscles of these horses have a high capacity both for endurance and speed. 相似文献
The study was designed to examine serum IL-18 level and its relation to metabolic control parameters and microvascular complications in type 1 diabetes mellitus (DM). Sixty two patients with type 1 DM and 30 healthy individuals were enrolled in the study. Serum IL-18 levels of patients with type 1 DM were significantly increased compared to controls (293.4+/-133.4 vs 211.2+/-63.9 pg/ml, P=0.003). Patients with poor glycemic control had higher levels of IL-18 than patients with well glycemic control (329.9+/-141.0 vs 226.3+/-89.6 pg/ml, P=0.02). There was no significant difference between the serum IL-18 levels of patients with microvascular complications and those of patients without microvascular complications (307.6+/-127.6 vs 293.2+/-145.6 pg/ml, P>0.05). IL-18 correlated positively with HbA(1c) (r=0.32, P=0.01) and postprandial blood glucose (PPBG) (r=0.26, P=0.02); and negatively with HDL-cholesterol (HDL-C) (r=-0.38, P=0.007). By linear regression analysis, PPBG was determined as the most explanatory parameter for the alterations in serum IL-18 levels (P=0.02). High levels of IL-18 in patients with type 1 DM is related to short and long term glycemic control and HDL-C levels but not to microvascular complications. 相似文献
Dendrites, axons, and synapses are dynamic during circuit development; however, changes in microcircuit connections as branches stabilize have not been directly demonstrated. By combining in?vivo time-lapse imaging of Xenopus tectal neurons with electron microscope reconstructions of imaged neurons, we report the distribution and ultrastructure of synapses on individual vertebrate neurons and relate these synaptic properties to dynamics in dendritic and axonal arbor structure over hours or?days of imaging. Dynamic dendrites have a high density of immature synapses, whereas stable dendrites have sparser, mature synapses. Axons initiate contacts from multisynapse boutons on stable branches. Connections are refined by decreasing convergence from multiple inputs to postsynaptic dendrites and by decreasing divergence from multisynapse boutons to postsynaptic sites. Visual deprivation or NMDAR antagonists decreased synapse maturation and elimination, suggesting that coactive input activity promotes microcircuit development by concurrently regulating synapse elimination and maturation of remaining contacts. 相似文献
Chitosan-based carriers have important potential applications for the administration of drugs. In the present study, topical
gel formulations of terbinafine hydrochloride (T-HCl) were prepared using different types of chitosan at different molecular
weight, and the antifungal inhibitory activity was evaluated to suggest an effective formulation for the treatment of fungal
infections. The characteristics of gel formulations were determined with viscosity measurements and texture profile analysis.
Stability studies were performed at different temperatures during 3 months. The ex vivo permeation properties were studied through rat skin by using Franz diffusion cells. The antifungal inhibitory activity of
formulations on Candida species and filamentous fungi was also examined with agar-cup method. The microbiological assay was found suitable for determination
of in vitro antifungal activity of T-HCl. A marketed product was used to compare the results. The antifungal activity of T-HCl significantly
increased when it was introduced into the chitosan gels. A higher drug release and the highest zone of inhibition were obtained
from gels prepared with the lowest molecular weight chitosan (Protasan UP CL 213) compared to that of other chitosan gels
and marketed product. These results indicated the advantages of the suggested formulations for topical antifungal therapy
against Candida species and filamentous fungi. 相似文献
Endemic Muscari muscarimi Medikus is the most fragrant plant among Muscari species and has a high ornamental potential. The natural populations of M. muscarimi, are severely affected by increased environmental pollution and urbanization. There is a need to develop a micropropagation method that should serve effectively for commercial propagation and conservation. Therefore, the study targeted to set up a strategy for efficient in vitro bulblet regeneration system of M. muscarimi using twin scale bulb explants on 1.0 × MS medium containing 4.44, 8.88, 17.76 μM BAP (6-Benzylaminopurine) plus 2.685, 5.37, 10.74 μM NAA (α-Naphthalene acetic acid). Maximum number of 19 daughter axillary bulblets and 16 daughter adventitious bulblets per twin bulb scale explant was regenerated on 1.0 × MS medium containing 17.76 μM BAP plus 10.74 μM NAA and 17.76 μM BAP plus 2.685 μM NAA respectively. The daughter bulblets regenerated on twin bulb scales on 8 out of 9 regeneration treatment could be easily rooted on 1.0 × MS medium containing 4.9 μM IBA (Indole-3-butyric acid). The daughter bulblets regenerated on 9th treatment (1.0 × MS medium containing 17.76 μM BAP plus 10.74 μM NAA) were transferred to 1.0 × MS medium containing 30 g/l sucrose to break negative carry over effect of this dose of BAP–NAA, where they grew 2–3 roots of variable length. Daughter bulblet diameter was increased by culturing them on 1.0 × MS medium containing 4.44 μM BAP plus 5.37 μM NAA. The results verified that both age and the source of explants had significant effect on regeneration. In another set of experiments, twin scales were obtained from in vitro regenerated daughter bulblets, although they induced bulblets, yet their bulblet regeneration percentage, mean number of bulblets per explant and their diameter were significantly reduced. In vitro regenerated bulblets were acclimatized in growth chamber under ambient conditions of temperature and humidity on peat moss, where they flowered. The study provides important information about selection of suitable micropropagation medium, strategies to improve bulblet diameter and rooting of M. muscarimi which offers a scope for commercial propagation.Abbreviations: MS medium, Murashige Skoog medium; BAP, 6-Benzylaminopurine; NAA, α-Naphthalene acetic acid; IBA, Indole-3-butyric acid相似文献
