Transglutaminases (TGs) expression and enzymatic activities in human saliva were investigated. Specific antibodies showed the co-existence of TG1, TG2, TG3 and TG4. TG2 and TG3 were found in native and multiple proteolytic forms. Our data indicate that TG1 and TG2 isoenzymes are highly active with the major activity attributed to TG1. These findings pave the way for future studies on the physiological role of TG in the oral cavity and the potential impact of their deregulation in TG-associated oral diseases.  相似文献

Several spring–damper–mass models of the human body have been developed in order to reproduce the measured ground vertical reaction forces during human running (McMahon and Cheng, 1990; Ferris et al., 1999; Liu and Nigg, 2000). In particular, Liu and Nigg introduced at the lower level of their model, i.e. at the interface between the human body and the ground, a nonlinear element representing simultaneously the shoe midsoles and the ground flexibility. The ground reaction force is modelled as the force supported by this nonlinear element, whose parameters are identified from several sets of experimental data. This approach proved to be robust and quite accurate. However, it does not explicitly take into account the shoe and the ground properties. It turns out to be impossible to study the influence of shoe materials on the impact force, for instance for footwear design purposes. In this paper, a modification of the Liu and Nigg's model is suggested, where the original nonlinear element is replaced with a bi-layered spring–damper–mass model: the first layer represents the shoe midsole and the second layer is associated with the ground.Ground is modelled as an infinite elastic half-space. We have assumed a viscoelastic behaviour of the shoe material, so the damping of shoe material is taken into account. A methodology for the shoe-soles characterization is proposed and used together with the proposed model. A parametric study is then conducted and the influence of the shoe properties on the impact force is quantified. Moreover, it is shown that impact forces are strongly affected by the ground stiffness, which should therefore be considered as an essential parameter in the footwear design.  相似文献

The present study is the first investigation of the volatile‐oil variability and insecticidal properties of the endemic Moroccan mint Mentha suaveolens subsp. timija (mint timija). The yield of essential oils (EOs) obtained from different wild mint timija populations ranged from 0.20±0.02 to 1.17±0.25% (v/w). GC/MS Analysis revealed the presence of 44 oil constituents, comprising 97.3–99.9% of the total oil compositions. The main constituents were found to be menthone (1.2–62.6%), pulegone (0.8–26.6%), cis‐piperitone epoxide (2.9–25.5%), piperitone (0.3–35.5%), trans‐piperitone epoxide (8.1–15.7%), piperitenone (0.2–9.6%), piperitenone oxide (0.5–28.6%), (E)‐caryophyllene (1.5–11.0%), germacrene D (1.0–15.7%), isomenthone (0.3–7.7%), and borneol (0.2–7.3%). Hierarchical‐cluster analysis allowed the classification of the EOs of the different mint timija populations into four main groups according to the contents of their major components. This variability within the species showed to be linked to the altitude variation of the mint timija growing sites. The results of the insecticidal tests showed that all samples exhibited interesting activity against adults of Tribolium castaneum, but with different degrees. The highest toxicity was observed for the EOs belonging to Group IV, which were rich in menthone and pulegone, with LC50 and LC90 values of 19.0–23.4 and 54.9–58.0 μl/l air in the fumigation assay and LC50 and LC90 values of 0.17–0.18 and 0.40–0.52 μl/cm2 in the contact assay.  相似文献

Heme oxygenase‐1 (HO‐1) encoded by the HMOX1 gene is a 32‐kDa stress protein that catabolizes heme to biliverdin, free iron, and carbon monoxide (CO). Glial HO‐1 is over‐expressed in the CNS of subjects with Alzheimer's disease (AD), Parkinson's disease (PD), and multiple sclerosis (MS). The HMOX1 gene is exquisitely sensitive to oxidative stress and is induced in brain and other tissues in various models of disease and trauma. Induction of the glial HMOX1 gene may lead to pathological brain iron deposition, intracellular oxidative damage, and bioenergetic failure in AD and other human CNS disorders such as PD and MS. Therefore, targeted suppression of glial HO‐1 hyperactivity may prove to be a rational and effective therapeutic intervention in AD and related neurodegenerative disorders. In this study, we report the effects of QC‐47, QC‐56, and OB‐28, novel azole‐based competitive and reversible inhibitors of HO‐1, on oxidative damage to whole‐cell and mitochondrial compartments in rat astrocytes transfected with the HMOX1 gene. We also report the effect of OB‐28 on the behavior and neuropathology of APPswe/PS1?E9 mice. OB‐28 was found to reduce oxidative damage to whole‐cell and mitochondrial compartments in rat astrocytes transfected with the HMOX1 gene. Moreover, OB‐28 was found to significantly counter behavioral deficits and neuropathological alterations in APPswe/PS1?E9 mice. Attenuation of AD‐associated behavioral deficits and neuropathological changes suggests that HO‐1 may be a promising target for neuroprotective intervention in AD and other neurodegenerative diseases.

Using antipolyamine antibodies covalently bound to magnetic latex spheres, we have been able to isolate from the plasma of mice bearing the Lewis lung carcinoma, 8 proteins with bound polyamines.
