In partly purified protein complexes obtained from 22 species of theAllium genus and 6 cultivars ofAllium cepa the activity of cholinesterases was detected and measured using the method of Ellman et al. The degree of its inhibition with 10-4 M neostigmine was also tested. It was found that the activity of cholinesterase differed in individual species up to two hundred times, while the differences in the inhibitory activity of 10-4 M neostigmine occurred only in a few cases. Individual sections and cultivars could not be characterized on the basis of the differences in the activities of the cholinesterases. Of all the sections that ofPhyllodolon shows the highest average activity. In the case of the tested cultivars distinctly the lowest activity was observed in cv. Kastická. The values of the enzymatic activity measured by Ellman’s method in this plant material include the activity of specific and unspecific cholinesterases and the part uninhibitable by neostigmine. 相似文献

The antibiotic activity of the antifungal substance mucidin was compared with the activity of nystatin and pimaricin. The antibiotics were tested by the plate method using 19 fungal species, mainly phytopathogenic ones. Toward 14 species, mucidin was ten times more active than nystatin and pimaricin, toward 5 species the activities were roughly the same. For three types of self-sucking impellers (fourand six-pipe and disk impellers) mixing power, initial point, amount of gas leaving the impeller and mass transfer coefficient were determined experimentally. Investigations were performed for two systems: water and biomass solution.From the point of view of a minimum mixing power and maximum mass transfer coefficient the best impeller has been chosen. The study involved 126 patients with cholelithiasis. Set of biochemical, radiological, endoscopic, and ultrasound examinations was carried out in these patients. Biological properties of Staphylococcus saprophyticus strains isolated from urinary tract infection and respiratory tract secretions were investigated. The majority of S. saprophyticus strains exhibit moderate surface hydrophobic properties, as measured by Hydrophobic Interaction Chromatography. There was no significant difference between two groups of isolates in respect to electrostatic charge. It was found that the ability to form a diffuse type of growth is characteristic for most of S. saprophyticus strains despite of source of isolation. Five carbohydrates on the surface of 25% of S. saprophyticus strains were shown by means of specific lectin agglutination. Some of the tested strains were capable to bind labelled fibrinogen. 相似文献

Three fluorescent probes, tetramethyl rhodamine ethyl ester (TMRE), 3,3′-dipropylthiacarbocyanine iodide (diS-C3(3)) and 3,3′-dipropyloxacarbocyanine iodide (diO-C3(3)), were tested for their suitability as fluorescent indicators of membrane potential inSaccharomyces cerevisiœ in studies performed by flow cytometry. For all these dyes the intensity of fluorescence of stained cells increased with
probe concentration in the range of 60–3000 nmol/L. The optimum staining period was 15–20 min for diS-C3(3). Depolarization of cells by increased extracellular potassium level and by valinomycin elicited with all probes a drop
