This study was conducted on Bt and normal maize hybrids during two successive sowing dates, early and late summer plantation. The Sesamia cretica larvae were observed for the first time on first week of April on different commercial maize hybrids. While there was no larva/plant on transgenic maize hybrids, YieldGard and Ageeb-YG, while larvae were found on last week of July by a very little number on maize hybrids for late one. In Early summer planting date showed highly significant differences in reduction percent, between tested compounds and control one, in the pink corn borer population. The bio-residual activity of the NeemAzal-T/S 0.5% on TWC310 was significantly less pronounced, i.e. 75.5%, than other tested ones; the highest percentage of reduction, 86.6%, was achieved by Chlorophan 0.005% on SC2031, followed by NeemAzal-T/S 0.5% on SC2031 83.5% and Chlorophan 0.005% on SC2030 83.4%, respectively. Also the average reduction percentage of S. cretica larvae differed significantly from 69.6%, on NeemAzal-T/S SC2031, to 83.0%, on Chlorophan SC2031, in the late summer planting. The different treatments had positive effects on maize yield in the two planting dates. In the first plantation date, the increased rate of control ranged from 1.04 to 1.24, when NeemAzal-T/S acted on TWC310 and transgenic IYG, respectively. And in the second plantation date, rate of control obtained was 1.06–1.30, when NeemAzal-T/S acted on SC 2031 and transgenic IYG, respectively. The tested compounds played an important role in controlling the pink corn borer insect, S. cretica, and this study suggests that Cry 1Ab-expressing corn hybrids would provide a great value as a component of corn IPM in Egypt.  相似文献

Transpiration rate, leaf area, the content of nitrogen and saccharides decreased with the decrease in soil moisture content from 90 % to 30 % of full field capacity. Stomatal frequency, fresh and dry matter and the chlorophyll and carotenoid contents of lupine or safflower remained more or less unaffected. After spraying with the antitranspirant (PMA) the saccharide contents were raised. As concern the lipids content and the contents of Ca, Mg and P, treated plants exhibited variable response to both drought stress and spraying with various PMA concentrations.  相似文献

An approved, straightforward, fast, and delicate spectrofluorimetric strategy was developed for the estimation of tepotinib (TEPO), sotorasib (SOTO), and darolutamide (DARO) as new antineoplastic drugs. The spectrofluorimetric strategy was based on quantitative fluorescence quenching of MER at 538 nm after being excited at 350 nm by the addition of the cited drugs in the presence of acetate buffer (pH 3.5). The degree of fluorescence quenching was directly proportional to the concentrations of the cited drugs within the concentration range of 0.5–10.0, 0.2–10, and 0.4–10.0 μg ml−1 for TEPO, SOTO, and DARO, respectively. Mean ± standard deviation (SD) were calculated for the studied drugs as follows; 99.9 ± 0.87, 99.72 ± 1.08, and 100.21 ± 1.44, for TEPO, SOTO, and DARO, respectively. Limit of detection (LOD) values were 0.16, 0.05, and 0.11 μg ml−1, whereas limit of quantitation (LOQ) values were 0.5, 0.15, and 0.36 μg ml−1 for TEPO, SOTO, and DARO, respectively. Statistical comparison through detailed strategies produced greater understanding and found that there were no noteworthy contrasts in exactness and exactness between strategies. The proposed strategy was used effectively to analyze the measurement of different forms of the examined drugs. Moreover, the recommended fluorimetric strategy was used for examination of TEPO, SOTO, and DARO in human plasma and urine tests.  相似文献

Trichophyton tonsurans is a widely distributed pathogen that demonstrates a significant degree of genetic and phenetic heterogeneity. To date, the degree of genetic relatedness among geographically segregated isolates has not been explored. This investigation evaluates the extent of genetic variation among an international population of T. tonsurans isolates and examines the relatedness of isolates within and between countries. Molecular strain typing was performed on 198 isolates obtained from 14 countries. A mixed-marker strategy utilizing 27 sequence variations in 13 gene loci was applied to all isolates and cluster analysis was performed to examine the relationship between strains. Phylogenetic analysis was used to corroborate the findings of the cluster analysis with T. equinum strains serving as an out-group. In total, 47 distinct strain types were identified represented by seven clusters and one singleton. There appeared to be a moderate degree of clustering among isolates obtained from North America, Asia and Australia, although European isolates were uniformly distributed among the majority of clusters. The degree of genetic variation observed in this study coupled with the geographic localization would support the argument for allopatric divergence within this species.  相似文献

Risk assessors routinely use the reference dose (RfD) approach for non-cancer risk assessment. In this approach, No-Observed-Adverse-Effect-Level (NOAEL) is divided by the product of uncertainty factors (UFs) and, occasionally, an additional modifying factor (MF), each usually employed by default as factors of 10. In the present investigation, kinetic and dynamic data have been used in order to reduce uncertainties when establishing exposure guidelines for examples of chemicals representing four classes of pesticides (warfarin, lindane, carbaryl and parathion). An intensive search of databases was conducted for these pesticides, and toxicokinetic and toxicodynamic parameters in inter- and intra-species were evaluated. The kinetic and dynamic subfactors were less than the proposed values of Renwick and the International Programme on Chemical Safety (IPCS). The composite factors for all the examined pesticides were less than 100. The present study indicated that in setting exposure levels it is important to incorporate kinetic and dynamic data, as they become available, rather than rely on default uncertainty factors, which are imprecise in many cases.  相似文献

Acrylonitrile interaction with testicular DNA in rats.   总被引:10,自引:0,他引:10  
In the present study we report the in vivo interaction of acrylonitrile (VCN) with testicular tissue in rats. Covalent binding of radioactivity to testicular tissue DNA was examined for a period of 72 hr after a single oral dose (46.5 mg/kg) of [2,3-14C] VCN. Maximal covalent binding was observed at 0.5 hr (8.9 mumol VCN equivalent/mol nucleotide). Binding decreased gradually thereafter but was still detected (2.5 mumol VCN equivalent/mol nucleotide) at 72 hr following VCN administration. Further, we examined the effects of VCN on DNA synthesis and repair in the testes of rats following a single oral dose (46.5 mg/kg) of VCN to clarify the impact of the covalent binding observed on the testicular genetic material. A significant decrease in DNA synthesis (80% of control) was observed at 0.5 hr after treatment. At 24 hr following acrylonitrile administration, testicular DNA synthesis was severely inhibited (38% of control). Testicular DNA repair was increased 1.5-fold at 0.5 hr and more than 3.3-fold at 24 hr following treatment with VCN. These results suggest that VCN can act as a multipotent genotoxic agent by alkylating DNA in testicular tissue and may affect the male reproductive function by interfering with testicular DNA synthesis and repair processes.  相似文献

According to the auxin-inhibition hypothesis of apical dominance,apically produced auxin moves down the stem and inhibits axillarybud outgrowth, either directly or indirectly. This hypothesishas been examined further by monitoring changes in basipetalauxin transport and endogenous auxin concentration in Ipomoeanil caused by shoot inversion, a stimulus that releases apicaldominance. The results indicate that inversion reduces auxintransport in the main stem. In upright shoots of intact plants,a 16-h pretreatment with [3H]IAA 4 cm below the apex resultsin downward movement of label and accumulation in nodes, especiallythe cotyledonary node. Label does not accumulate in the lateralbuds. GC-MS determinations of endogenous free auxin level inthe fourth node, where a lateral bud grows out following inversionof the upper part of the shoot, show no changes at 3 and 8 hafter inversion, the range of times for inversion-induced budrelease, or at 24 h, when bud outgrowth is continuing. However,inversion did cause a just-detectable decrease (approx. 10%)in the IAA level of the shoot's elongation region. Althoughauxin transport in segments of the main stem is partially inhibitedby inversion over a period shorter than the latent time of budrelease, thus providing a means for the expected depletion ofauxin in the fourth node, no depletion could be detected there.These results suggest that either a decrease in IAA level inthe main stem is not causal of bud release or that the decreasedIAA pool responsible for bud release is compartmented and cannotbe measured in whole-tissue extracts.Copyright 1993, 1999 AcademicPress Apical dominance, auxin content, auxin transport, axillary bud release, GC-MS, Ipomoea nil, Pharbitis nil, shoot inversion  相似文献
