Genome sequence of Xanthomonas citri pv. mangiferaeindicae strain LMG 941

We report the 5.1-Mb genome sequence of Xanthomonas citri pv. mangiferaeindicae strain LMG 941, the causal agent of bacterial black spot in mango. Apart from evolutionary studies, the draft genome will be a valuable resource for the epidemiological studies and quarantine of this phytopathogen.     

Draft Genome Sequence of Bacillus isronensis Strain B3W22, Isolated from the Upper Atmosphere

We report the 4.0-Mb genome sequence of Bacillus isronensis strain B3W22 isolated from air collected at an altitude ranging from 27 to 30 km above the city of Hyderabad, in India. This genome sequence will contribute to the objective of determining the microbial diversity of the upper atmosphere.     

Pattern of Resource Allocation of Six Plantago Species with Different Breeding Systems

Plantago exhibit great deal of differences in the breeding system. The reproductive effort calculated on the basis of, (i) dry biomass of foliar and floral parts and (ii) seed output-weight (mg) per unit leaf area (cm²), exhibits relation with breeding system. The predominantly inbreeding taxa invest higher reproductive effort compared to their outbreeding allies. In terms of sex allocation strategies, the outbreeding species like P. lanceolata, P. lagopus invest more to the development of floral features and to male functions. On the contrary, inbreeding species such as P. patagonica, P. drummondii, and P. ovata invest greater resources to the female function.
