A new species and two new records of Ulocladium from China

A new species and two new Chinese records in the genus Ulocladium from soil are reported. New species is Ulocladium leve, and the new records are U. alternariae and U. consortiale. Latin diagnosis of the new species is presented. Holotype specimen （dried culture） of the new species and dried cultures of two new records are deposited in the Herbarium of Shandong Agricultural University： Plant Pathology （HSAUP）.     

Pollen Morphology of Eight Genera of the Subtribe Mutisiinae Less. sensu Bremer （Compositae） from Asia

The pollen morphology of 28 species and one variety representing eight genera of the subtribe Mutisiinae Less. sensu Bremer （Compositae） was investigated by scanning electron microscopy （SEM） and light microscopy. The pollen grains are usually radically symmetrical, isopolar, and tricolporate. The shape varies from spheroidal to subprolate in equatorial view and is three-lobed circular in polar view. Based on exine sculpturing observed under SEM, the pollen grains can be divided into three types： （i） type Ⅰ, with macrogranulate sculpture; （ii） type Ⅱ, with a finely granulate sculpture; and （iii） type Ⅲ with spiny sculpture. The palynological data showed that the Macroclinidium Maxim. was remarkably distinguished from those of the other seven genera. The variation of pollen characteristics within the Mutisiinae in Asia is little at species level, but it proves some useful information for studying the relationships among genera and it has an important significance in further understanding the evolutionary history of Mutisiinae.

蚕豆主要数量性状的遗传主成份和数量分类

对50个蚕豆品种的7个数量性状进行了遗传主成份分析, 初步提出了评选蚕豆品种的遗传主成份标准,并筛选出18个综合性状优良的亲本品种。测定了50个蚕豆品种的遗传距离, 根据遗传距离大小,将50个蚕豆品种聚类为2群、 3类、9组。分类结果指出,蚕豆品种的遗传距离大小与地理差异有些似有一定关系,但在总体上,二者间无必然联系。 Abastract:Analysis of major Genetic component analysis was performed for 7 quantitative characters of 50 faba bean lines and according to the analysis,18 lines were selected as parents.The 50 lines were classified into 2 subpopulations,3 types and 9 groups according to their genetic distance.The results showed that there was seemly a correlation between geographical distribution and genetic distance,nevertheless most lines within the same cluster were close in genetic distance but far in geographic sites.     

胡萝卜与烟草原生质体的低温保存

在较长的时间内,可保持正常生理状态与细胞活性的原生质体的制备及保存技术是进行空间细胞融合实验的前提条件。本研究以0.7ml/L的葡萄糖作渗透压,在6-8℃低温条件下经过72小时保存后,供试原生质体的存活率仍可达81%,并保持了其长壁与分裂的特性。 Abstract:Storage duration and acativity of isolated protoplasts are important problem for experiment on plant cell fusion in space.We have achieved preliminary success using glucose as osmotic reagent,The survival protopasts after 72 hour storage in 0.7mol/L glucose at 6~8℃ reached 81% and maintained a very high activity of division.     

Acoustic characteristics of eight common Chinese anurans during the breeding season

Anurans often have species-specific vocalizations. To quantify and compare the characteristics of anuran calls in Gutianshan National Nature Reserve, Zhejiang Province, we recorded the advertisement calls of eight species belonging to four families (Ranidae, Microhylidae, Megophryidae and Bufonidae) from June to September 2012 using Sony ICD-FX8 IC recorders. All recordings were analyzed using the "Praat" software. Five acoustics parameters were measured, including temporal traits (call duration, number of notes or pulse number/call) and spectral traits (fundamental frequency, the first three formants and dominant frequency). The characteristic parameters of Microhyla ornate and Fejervarya limnocharis calls were different as were the calls of some populations of the same species recorded in different regions. The advertisement calls of the eight species were specific. Our study has provided a useful reference for identifying the calls of some common Chinese anurans.
