Participation of cyclic nucleotides and phospholipidis in signal transduction of histamin receptor H3 of the gastric mucosa parietal cells in rats with experimental ulcer

The goal of the work was to evaluate plasma membrane phospholipid composition in rat gastric parietal cells under the histamine H3 receptor activation. The content of cyclic nucleotides was also studied. It was shown that H3-receptor agonist (R)-alpha-methylhistamine increases the phosphatidylcholine (PC) and phosphatidylethanolamine (PE) level and decreases the phoshatidylinositole level in plasma membrane of rat gastric parietal cells and leads to attenuation of the cGMP production and enhancement of the cAMP production under the experimental stress--the induced stomach ulcer formation. The histamine H3-receptor antagonist, thioperamide, insignificantly increases the PC and PE level and increases the phoshatidylinositole level in the plasma membrane of rat gastric parietal cells and leads to cAMP production attenuation, and cGMP contents decreases in the above-stated cells. Thus it was shown that histamine H3 receptor activation causes different effects on polyphosphoinositide and adenylatcyclase cascades in parietal cells under stomach ulcer conditions.     

Detection of the level of antibodies against bovine leucosis virus in the cow milk by immune sensor

An immune sensor based on the surface plasmon resonance (SPR) was developed for express diagnostics of bovine leucosis. Sensor used for detection of the level of antibodies against bovine leukaemia virus (BLV) in the milk serum. It was shown that immune sensor analysis is more sensitive, rapid and simple in comparison with the traditional AGID test. It was stated that the developed immune sensor may be used for performance of screening of bovine leucosis at the farms and the minimal dilution of the milk serum should be 1:20.     

Individual typological features of the dog behavior during the choice between food and avoidance of electrocutaneous stimulation

Two conditioned reflexes (CR) on flash were elaborated in five dogs in three experimental series. In one of them pressing on pedal were constantly reinforced with two pieces of liver, in other--escape or avoidance of skin stimulation with lifting of leg. In a third series, series of reinforcement choice, in front of animal with electrodes, fasting on leg, put the pedal. During of choice series defensive reactions were dominated in two dogs, alimentary reactions--three of them. For restoration alimentary behaviour in dog with great dominating of defensive reactions were many times reinforced with--food "passive" pressing legs on pedal during conditional stimuli, dog with less dominating of these reactions for restoration were enough a few coupling of conditional stimuli with food. With intensification electrocutaneus stimulation of legs or decreasing alimentary reinforcement we a success of diminishing of degree of alimentary reaction domination in one dog and in other ones temporarily changed of these domination on prevalence of defensive reactions. The results were compared with data, obtained in these dogs with technique of choice between probability and value of alimentary reinforcement. This comparison were permitted us of ranging dogs on scale "carefulness-riskiness", revealed of individual typological features of these animals.     

The role of visual afferentation in the development of early defense behavior of pied flycatcher nestlings

The development of defense behavior in normal and visually deprived pied flycatcher nestlings was studied in the wild. It was demonstrated that the young deprived of the visual afferentation did not develop the freezing posture. In the majority of cases, specific alarm call suppressed begging in visually deprived nestlings less effectively than in the control ones. Visually deprived nestlings could not discriminate between the alarm call and other rhythmically organized acoustic signals even though the latter effectively suppressed begging.     

Polymorphism of the angiotensin II type 1 receptor in patients with essential hypertension in Ukrainian population

The distribution of polymorphism of the angiotensin II type 1 receptor in Ukrainian population was investigated. Healthy persons had genotypes AA (51%), AC (34%), CC (15%) and alleles A (68%), C (32%). We suppose the prevalence of allele C and genotypes CC in health persons in Ukrainian population. The frequencies of genotypes and alleles in patients with essential hypertension were AA (22,85%), AC (51,9%), CC (25,3%) and A (48,7%), C (51,3%). Thus the development of essential hypertension was associated with the presence of allele C and its homozygote variant. Moreover the severity and complications of hypertension depended on the presence of this allele and genotype. We concluded that Ukrainian population has specific distribution of polymorphism of the angiotensin II type 1 receptor with prevalence of allele C1166 and genotype CC. The presence of these genetic variants is a risk factor for essential hypertension.     

Distribution of botulinum toxin-producing clostridia in soils of Argentina

We studied the presence of botulinum toxin-producing clostridia in 2,009 soil samples from five geographical regions of Argentina. The prevalence was 23.5%, and the distribution was not homogeneous among the regions. We observed a great multiplicity of serological types and a higher prevalence in nonvirgin soils than in virgin soils.
