Dependence of arterial pressure and cardiac output on initial (regulated) arterial tone during beta-adrenoreceptor stimulation in rats

A significant decrease of arterial pressure in response to isoproterenol occurred in anaesthetised rats with the initial pressure 101-130 mm Hg. Elevation of the initial pressure up to 131-180 mm Hg led to a significant attenuation of the depressor effect. The correlation analysis revealed transformation of direct correlation into inverse one between the depressor responses to isoproterenol and the degree of elevation of the initial arterial tone, as well as lack of such a dependence in the cardiac output shifts.

Ionic channels of the vacuolar membrane of higher plants

The vacuole is the major storing compartment of the plant cell. There are two different H(+)-translocating pumps generating transmembrane pH gradients and several types of calcium, anion and potassium channels. The fast-activating vacuolar (FV) current dominates at the physiological level of cytoplasmic Ca2+. An increase in the cytoplasmic Ca2+ concentration causes a decrease in the activity of FV channels and a shift of the membrane potential to more negative values. In this case voltage-dependent Ca2+ channels capable of mediating the vacuolar Ca2+ release can be activated. Moreover, an increase in the cytoplasmic Ca2+ concentration activated vacuolar K+ channels described in the vacuolar membrane of stomatal guard cells. A role of slow-activating channels in the Ca(2+)-induced Ca2+ release is rather improbable.

汉、回、蒙古族拇指类型、环食指长、扣手、交叉臂及惯用手的研究

作者于1996年在内蒙古调查了汉、回、蒙古族5项人类遗传学经典指标(拇指类型、环食指长、扣手、交叉臂、惯用手)。研究结果显示:(1)3个民族间拇指类型、扣手出现率存在显著性差异,交叉臂、惯用手出现率则无显著性差异,环食指长出现率蒙-汉、蒙-回间存在显著性差异;(2)拇指类型、扣手、惯用手出现率无性别间差异,环食指长出现率男女间存在显著性差异;(3)惯用手与扣手、惯用手与交叉臂间存在明显的相互关系,交叉臂与扣手之间则无关;(4)与国外人群比较,3个民族环指长出现率高,交叉臂R型出现率较高,扣手R型出现率较低,惯用手L型出现率高于印度的一些群体。 Abstract:Authors in vestigated 5 general indexes of anthrotogical genetics including pollical type,palmar digital formula,hand clasping,arm folding and handedness in Han,Hui and Mongol nationalities in 1996.The results showed as follows:(1)There were significant differences in the frequency of pollical type and hand clasping in 3 nationalities,but those of arm folding and handedness showed nosignificant difference and the frequencies of palmar digital formula between the Mongol and the Hui revealed significant difference.(2)There were no significant sexual difference in the frequency of pollical type,hand clasping and handedness while the long type (R) of ring finger revealed significant sexual difference.(3)There were obvious correlations between handedness and hand clasping,handedness and arm folding but no relation between arm folding and hand clasping.(4)In comparison with foreign ethnic groups,the 3 nationalities showed higher frequencies of long type (R) of ring finger and right-arm folding but the frequence right-hand clasping revealed slightly lower.The findings showed higher frequence of Left-Handedness than that of Indian population.     

PCR-RFLP检测LDL受体基因TaqⅠ多态性位点的研究

应用聚合酶链反应(PCR)扩增人类LDL受体基因外显子4-内含子4-外显子5片段,PCR产物为1.55kb,DNA片段经序列鉴定后,进行TaqI酶切位点的RFLP分析。结果显示:中国汉族人群LDL受体基因中存在着TaqⅠ酶切位点多态性; 200个LDL受体等位基因中TaqⅠ酶切位点出现的频率为0.515,该点频率较为适中, 可作为中国汉族人群LDL受体基 因的遗传标志来进行家族性高胆固醇血症(FH)的基因诊断。所建立起的LDL受体基因TaqⅠ位点的PCR -RFLP方法具有快速、简便的特点,在FH的基因诊断上有应用价值。 Abstract:To develop rapid and sensitive technique for detectin the TaqI polymorphism at the human LDL receptor gene in Chinese,the exon4-intron4-exon5 of the human LDL receptor gene was amplified by polymerase chain reaction(PCR).The PCR products were directly analysed by restriction fragment length polymorphisms(RFLP).The results showed that the TaqI polymorphism is associated with the LDL receptor gene in Chinese of Han nationality;The frequency of T= allele (presence of TaqI cutting site)is 0.515 in 200 LDL receptor alleles.This technique may be used for rapid and sensitive screening of the LDL receptor gene for the TaqI polymorphism.     

利用农杆菌系统将超甜定基因导入烟草

由pUR528构建中间载体pEHT9,再构建超甜定植物表达载体pBIT7。通过直接转化法将pBIT7导入农杆菌,然后利用农杆菌系统转化烟草。经PCR、PC R-S outhern和Southern杂交证实,超甜定基因已整合到烟草基因组中。 Abstract:pEHT9 was constructed from pUR528,and used for the construction of plant thaumatin expression vector pBIT7.Then pBIT7 was introduced to Agrobacterium through direct transformation.Subsequently tobacco was transformed through Agrobacterium-mediated system.It has been confirmed that thaumatin gene has integrated into the genome of transgenic tobacco by PCR,PCR-Southern and Southern blot analyses.     

Function of the antioxidant system in rats exposed to cadmium

Lipid peroxidation (LPO) and antioxidant system functioning in the blood, liver and small intestine mucosal cells of rats under cadmium chloride intake and administration of the liposomal form of the biologically active supplement (BAS FLP-MD) have been studied. It is shown that cadmium chloride administration (1 mg/kg, 14 days) leads to the activation of the oxidative processes in the cells and decrease of the antioxidant enzyme activities including mitochondrial enzymes. The revealed inhibition of the hepatic superoxide dismutase (SOD) activity considerably determined by the effect on mitochondrial Cu, Zn-SOD. The effect of one-shot and long-term cadmium intake on the conjugation system and decrease of the tissue glutathione level were shown. BAS FLP-MD intake normalizes the oxidative processes possibly due to stabilization of the cellular components.     

Blood lactate dehydrogenase activity in newborn children

Arterial and venous blood samples from babies' umbilical cord vessels before lung breath beginning were used to measure arterial-venous difference between lactate dehydrogenase activity, pH and oxygen blood saturation (sO2). Enzyme activity was 735.4 +/- 90.8 U/L in venous blood and 672.0 +/- 108.1 U/L in arterial one, pH 7.21 +/- 0.06 and 7.32 +/- 0.06, sO2 32.9 +/- 12.7 and 56.5 +/- 18.3%, respectively. Reverse correlation between enzyme activity, pH and sO2 was found.
