The effect of 2-aminotridecane and its addition salts with different substituted phenols on growth ofCandida albicans was studied and the fungistatic and fungicidal activity of these substances was compared. The addition 2-aminotridecane salts with 2,4,5-trichlorophenol and with 2-chloro-4-introphenol were found to be the most active in all three tests. The activity of the other addition salts tested differed little from that of actual 2-aminotridecane.  相似文献

Large year-to-year variability in different fish species recruitment has been confirmed by previous studies while diurnal patterns of occupation in two basic reservoir habitats (pelagic and littoral) by different age-0 fish species in late summer are still unclear. Data collected over an 11-year period regarding late-summer age-0 fish assemblages in pelagic and littoral habitats of a reservoir were used to test the recruitment instability and to investigate diurnal habitat use. Trawling was conducted in the pelagic habitat at night while beach seining was conducted in the littoral habitat during day and night. Fluctuations in age-0 fish abundance and species composition were observed with both sampling methods; however, the following spatio-temporal patterns were relatively stable in most investigated years: (1) pelagic species (pikeperch; Sander lucioperca, small perch; Perca fluviatilis, bream; Abramis brama at night), (2) littoral species (large perch, asp; Leuciscus aspius, dace; Leuciscus leuciscus), (3) migratory species likely performing diel horizontal migrations (bleak; Alburnus alburnus), (4) species abundant in the littoral habitat both during day and night and also in pelagic habitat at night (roach; Rutilus rutilus) and (5) species detected in both habitats exclusively at night (ruffe; Gymnocephalus cernuus).  相似文献

Putative pea bilin and cyclic tetrapyrrole transporter proteins were identified by means of an antibody raised against a bilirubin-interacting aminoacidic sequence of mammalian bilitranslocase (TC No. 2.A.65.1.1). The immunochemical approach showed the presence of several proteins mostly in leaf microsomal, chloroplast and tonoplast vesicles. In these membrane fractions, electrogenic bromosulfalein transport activity was also monitored, being specifically inhibited by anti-bilitranslocase sequence antibody. Moreover, the inhibition of transport activity in pea leaf chloroplast vesicles, by both the synthetic cyclic tetrapyrrole chlorophyllin and the heme catabolite biliverdin, supports the involvement of some of these proteins in the transport of linear/cyclic tetrapyrroles during chlorophyll metabolism. Immunochemical localization in chloroplast sub-compartments revealed that these putative bilitranslocase-like transporters are restricted to the thylakoids only, suggesting their preferential implication in the uptake of cyclic tetrapyrrolic intermediates from the stroma during chlorophyll biosynthesis. Finally, the presence of a conserved bilin-binding sequence in different proteins (enzymes and transporters) from divergent species is discussed in an evolutionary context.  相似文献

Sixty-five plant species have been found in Lake Provala (the Vojvodina Province, Serbia) and its riparian zone. Among them, three hydrophytes were dominant: Nymphoides peltata, Myriophyllum spicatum and Ceratophyllum demersum. As interactions between different ecological factors, especially light, temperature and nutrient level, are of prime importance for productivity of macrophytes, we analyzed the main physical and chemical indicators of water quality in the studied location. In the vegetation period of the year 2000, the dominant hydrophytes were analyzed for biomass production dynamics in the studied aquatic ecosystem, including fresh weight (FW), dry weight (DW) and ash free dry weight (AFDW). The studied plant species achieved maximum biomass production in June, with statistical differences among the species at the significance level of α = 0.05.  相似文献

Phenological observations are a valuable source of information for investigating the relationship between climate variation and plant development. Potential climate change in the future will shift the occurrence of phenological phases. Information about future climate conditions is needed in order to estimate this shift. General circulation models (GCM) provide the best information about future climate change. They are able to simulate reliably the most important mean features on a large scale, but they fail on a regional scale because of their low spatial resolution. A common approach to bridging the scale gap is statistical downscaling, which was used to relate the beginning of flowering of Taraxacum officinale in Slovenia with the monthly mean near-surface air temperature for January, February and March in Central Europe. Statistical models were developed and tested with NCAR/NCEP Reanalysis predictor data and EARS predict and data for the period 1960-1999. Prior to developing statistical models, empirical orthogonal function (EOF) analysis was employed on the predictor data. Multiple linear regression was used to relate the beginning of flowering with expansion coefficients of the first three EOF for the Janauary, Febrauary and March air temperatures, and a strong correlation was found between them. Developed statistical models were employed on the results of two GCM (HadCM3 and ECHAM4/OPYC3) to estimate the potential shifts in the beginning of flowering for the periods 1990-2019 and 2020-2049 in comparison with the period 1960-1989. The HadCM3 model predicts, on average, 4 days earlier occurrence and ECHAM4/OPYC3 5 days earlier occurrence of flowering in the period 1990-2019. The analogous results for the period 2020-2049 are a 10- and 11-day earlier occurrence.  相似文献

Although environmental DNA surveys improve our understanding of biodiversity, interpretation of unidentified lineages is limited by the absence of associated morphological traits and living cultures. Unidentified lineages of marine stramenopiles are called “MAST clades”. Twenty‐five MAST clades have been recognized: MAST‐1 through MAST‐25; seven of these have been subsequently discarded because the sequences representing those clades were found to either (1) be chimeric or (2) affiliate within previously described taxonomic groups. Eighteen MAST clades remain without a cellular identity. Moreover, the discarded “MAST‐13” has been used in different studies to refer to two different environmental sequence clades. After establishing four cultures representing two different species of heterotrophic stramenopiles and then characterizing their morphology and molecular phylogenetic positions, we determined that the two different species represented the two different MAST‐13 clades: (1) a lorica‐bearing Bicosoeca kenaiensis and (2) a microaerophilic flagellate previously named “Cafeteria marsupialis”. Both species were previously described with only light microscopy; no cultures, ultrastructural data or DNA sequences were available from these species prior to this study. The molecular phylogenetic position of three different “C. marsupialis” isolates was not closely related to the type species of Cafeteria; therefore, we established a new genus for these isolates, Cantina gen. nov.  相似文献
