Allopatric isolation in glacial refugia has caused differentiation and speciation in many taxa globally. In this study, we investigated the nuclear and mitochondrial genetic differentiation of the long fingered bat, Myotis capaccinii during the ice ages in south-eastern Europe and Anatolia. The mitochondrial DNA (mtDNA) analyses indicated a suture zone similar to those recorded in other animal species, including bats, suggesting the association of more than one refugium with the region. Contrary to most of the other species where a suture zone was seen in Anatolia, for M. capaccinii the geographical location of the genetic break was in south-eastern Europe. This mitochondrial differentiation was not reflected in the nuclear microsatellites, however, suggesting that the lack of contact during the ice ages did not result in reproductive isolation. Hence taxonomically, the two mitochondrial clades cannot be treated as separate species.  相似文献

The ability of serotonin, melatonin and beta-endorphin synthesis by secreting granules of natural killer cells (NK cells) was established by immunohistochemical method. It was shown that cytotoxic effect of NK cells can be to a certain extent related to the presence of secreting granules. A possible direct contribution of NK cell-synthesized hormones to the natural killer antitumour effect is discussed.  相似文献

A recombinant DNA, encoding the chimeric protein of the signal sequence for bifidobacterial α-amylase mature pediocin PA-1, was introduced into Bifidobacterium longum MG1. Biologically active pediocin PA-1 was successfully secreted from the strain and showed bactericidal activity against Listeria monocytogenes and the same molecular mass as native pediocin PA-1.  相似文献

The development of rete testis in the rat, rabbit and guinea pig foetuses has been studied, as well as the influence of prolactin and thyrotropin on differentiation of its cells. It was shown that the rete testis tubules, as well as the seminiferous tubules develop from sex cords, which were derived from coelomic epithelium cells and gonocytes. The development of seminiferous tubules and rete testis was described at various stages of prenatal ontogenesis. Thyrotropin and prolactin exert different effects on differentiation of the rete testis cells: the former increases the mitotic activity of gonocytes and the latter increases that of epithelial cells and enhances degenerative processes in primary germ cells.  相似文献

The ultrastructural study of man's cytoskeleton of podocytes is carried out. Populations of podocytes with two different types of structure of the cytoskeleton in dependence on age (2, 4, 6, 37 and 65 years) is revealed in kidneys. The first type of cytoskeleton of the podocyte is peculiar for children's age and is characterized by branched, high density microfilament network, expressed by system of microtubules and single myofilaments. The intermediate filaments here are either utterly absent or present so feebly they find themselves "disguised" by other strongly developed components of cytoskeleton and revealing them with the help of technique of electron microscope is impossible. In kidneys of adults, and especially of old aged persons podocytes with other type of organization of the cytoskeleton are mainly identified. The distinctive signs of the last are bundle arrangement of microfilaments, plural bundles of intermediate filaments and individual microtubules. This study permits to make a conclusion that during individual development and growing old in kidneys of high animals and man, probably, physiological changes causing morphological reconstruction of cytoskeleton which is accompanied by intensive development of intermediate filaments' system with simultaneous "involution" of microtubules and microfilaments' systems take place.  相似文献

Recombinant human kidney epithelial 293 cells were cultivated as aggregates in suspension. The concentration calcium ion, in the range of 100 muM to 1mM, affected the rate of aggregate formation. During the course of cultivation the size distribution of aggregates shifted and the fraction of larger aggregates increased. This effect was more profound in cultures with a high calcium concentration. Scanning and transmission microscopic examination of the aggregates revealed that cell packing was greater in the high calcium cultures and that ultrastructural integrity was retained in aggregates from both low and high calcium cultures. Confocal microscopy was applied to examine the viability of cells in the interior of the aggregates. High viability was observed in the aggregates obtained from exponentially growing cultures. Aggregates from the high calcium culture in the stationary phase exhibited lower viability in the interior. With its ease of retention in a perfusion bioreactor, aggregate cultures offer an alternative choice for large-scale operation. (c) 1993 John Wiley & Sons, Inc.  相似文献
