It has been shown that both IAA and ethylene application inhibit flower induction in the short-day plant Pharbitis nil. However application of IAA has elevated ethylene production in this plant, as well. Strong enhancement of ethylene production is also correlated with the night-break effect, which completely inhibits flowering. In order to determine what the role of IAA and ethylene is in the photoperiodic flower induction in Pharbitis nil, we measured changes in their levels during inductive and non-inductive photoperiods, and the effects of ethylene biosynthesis and action inhibitors on inhibition of flowering by IAA. Our results have shown that the inhibitory effect of IAA on Pharbitis nil flowering is not physiological but is connected with its effect on ethylene biosynthesis.  相似文献

Determination was made of the proportion of selected by-products (acetaldehyde, ethyl acetate, methanol, propanol, isobutanol, 2-methyl-butanol, 3-methyl-butanol) of batch and continuous ethanol fermentation carried out with the use of yeastSaccharomyces cerevisiae, strain 0–11, cells immobilized by adsorption on selected carriers (foamed polystyrene, bone shot, beech wood chips, porous glass) as well as by entrapping in calcium alginate and calcium pectinate gel.  相似文献

Administration of drugs such as fenfluramine, 20-40 mg/kg, and m-chlorophenylpiperazine (m-CPP), 2.5-5 mg/kg, which release serotonin or activate postsynaptic serotonin receptors, respectively, induced a dramatic decrease in the duodenal content of immunoreactive dynorphin (ir-DYN). The effect was antagonized by cyproheptadine, 1 mg/kg. Similarly, acute administration of the specific serotonin reuptake blockers fluvoxamine, 15 mg/kg, or femoxetine, 10 mg/kg, and 5-hydroxytryptophan (5-HTP), 40-160 mg/kg, evoked a marked decrease in the duodenal content of ir-DYN. A combined administration of fluvoxamine or femoxetine and 5-HTP failed to potentiate the effect of individual treatment. Only a higher dose of fenfluramine, 40 mg/kg, increased the ir-DYN content in the hypothalamus. These results suggest that the brain and gut ir-DYN is independently regulated by the serotonin system and that a serotonin mechanism might stimulate release of the gut dynorphin content.  相似文献

For three types of self-sucking impellers (fourand six-pipe and disk impellers) mixing power, initial point, amount of gas leaving the impeller and mass transfer coefficient were determined experimentally. Investigations were performed for two systems: water and biomass solution.From the point of view of a minimum mixing power and maximum mass transfer coefficient the best impeller has been chosen. Summary Microbial transformation of cytotoxic 5,11-dimethyl-5H-indolo[2,3-b]quinoline (a compound displaying antitumor activity and affecting the activity of calf thymus DNA topoisomerase II) was performed by the Rhizopus arrhizus strain and yielded a 9-hydroxy derivative. The metabolite obtained displayed a stronger cytotoxity against KB cells than the parent compound (ID50=0.001 mol/mL), and stimulated also the formation of calf thymus topoisomerase II mediated pSP65 DNA cleavage in vitro at the concentration of 3 M. Being analogous to 9-hydroxyellipticine (which is an antitumor alkaloid), this novel indolo[2,3-b] quinoline derivative can be regarded as a novel potential antitumor agent.  相似文献

Two series of amino-modified silicate gels prepared by sol-gel processing were used to absorb Cu(II), Ni(II), Co(II), Mn(II) and Cr(III) from aqueous solutions. These easily prepared sorbents with various content of primary amino groups in series (A) or primary and secondary amino groups in series (AA) have reasonable stability. The gel composition, time and concentration dependence of the uptake of the metal ions by these materials were studied systematically. These materials would be further used as supports to disperse catalytically active phases by conventional wet chemical procedures. Apart from this they demonstrate potential for the preconcentration aid for transition metal analysis.  相似文献

The major histocompatibility complex (MHC) zygosity of the field-collected frogs, Rana temporaria, was detected by progeny testing. Groups of sibling tadpoles were grafted with intrafamilial tail-tip allografts and the ratio of rapidly rejected allografts to slowly rejected ones was estimated. Twenty-five percent of parental frogs appeared to be MHC homozygotes. Thus, MHC homozygosity in natural frog populations seems to be considerably higher than in wild mouse populations.  相似文献
